- Working on 1st patch with updates! - 5 November 2024
Before we launched we already had a series of fixes and updates planned. We're also reading all the feedback on the discussion forum, discord and review pages. We know the game is not quite meeting expectations yet and there's a lot of work to do, but we're on it! Here's what we're working on updating immediately: PLANNED TO BE FIXED IN THE NEXT PATCH - General performance improvements like some loading times are long on the last Era - If you have Skip Cutscenes enabled, the enemies will be frozen until you use 'Devour' - When fighting a mini-boss, the Arena may spawn late and lock the game if you've killed the boss already. (Workaround: don't kill the boss before the arena spawns) - If you activate the Prison and move too far away, the Arena it will spawn without you inside it (Workaround: do not move too far from the prison after activating it) - Some SFX dropped out - Some traits don…

- Krakenstein - new demo character playable for Steam Next Fest! - 14 October 2024
We're working hard to polish the game and iron out bugs, but in the meantime we're adding a new character to the Demo just for Steam Next Fest. Give it a try and let us know what you think! Meet... Krakenstein, a symbol of Unrelenting Progress! It represents Industrial Metal, and has a soothing backing track inspired by Rammstein. It's main ability is a ranged stun called Molten Lash, but it also inherits a AoE attack from it's thrash metal forefather Whipflesh, and of course the base attacks hacking and slashing with its saws. You can access it by selecting Ore mutations in your second phase of evolution. The demo also lets you try Gutpuncher, Morbideath and Whipflesh. And of course, the Chaozborne! And... we're launching soon! Really soon! (like next month) Cheers Roof
- Demo update with new level, some teasers and other fixes! - 28 August 2024
We've been working on the full game ready for our release later this year. But in the meantime we merged a few changes into the demo based on the beta playtesting: Level updated with the new look, and hints at other biomes and enemies available from the full game. Some parts of this are blocked off. The level still stays the same each run, unlike in the full game where it is randomized. Many more mutations are available now, from Ore, Flesh and Nekro builds. You can still only evolve into pure Flesh or Flesh/Nekro monsters, but the new traits let you experiment with other builds. General updates to combat, animations, VFX and SFX Note the Japanese, Korean, Chinese translations are missing some descriptions, but we're adding these soon! Next update should have some UI and Music changes :) Rock on!

- May demo update - more monsters, more upgrades, more metal. - 13 May 2024
We're hard at work on the main production of Munch, but decided to add a few more things to the demo in time for the Endless Replayability Steam fest. Here's a few things we've added and fixed. New stuff: A new enemy type: the scout (ranged) A new playable monster: Morbideath - a Nekro/Flesh hybrid. Since it's a hybrid, it has mixed characteristics - a bit of melee, a bit of ranged, but still 100% metal. To access it, make sure you choose a few Nekro mutations A new type of upgrade: Relics that can be acquired once you reach the second Era (only 1 in the demo) A new type of upgrade: Special limb attachments with power effects. Get these by fulling mutating your character in each era. 11 new mutations to select, from the Nekro branch Healing orbs now drop from some secondary objectives and buildings. Munch on these bad boys to recover some HP We also think we fixed these things, but you…
- Demo updates for April based on feedback - 8 April 2024
We got a tonne of feedback through our feedback form, YouTube comments, Discord, playtesting and the forum. So we focussed on improvements to: - Combat - Munching - Controls (incl. KB+M and rebindings) - Music It took some refactoring, but I think we're set-up for a better game. Updates: - Various improvements on combat mechanics - Added aim support (can be toggled off in settings) - Better control on enemy aim - Dash improvements (enemies don’t block you) - Movement improvements - KB+M support. Mouse for attacking + munching. Abilities shifted to be near WSAD - Munching can be done while moving, making it easier to eat - Nearby food of the same time will merge - Enemies AI improvements - Fixed key rebinding - Some music changes - You can now smash obstacles out of the way - No longer staggered as much when enemies are smaller than you Next update we're hoping to have some new content t…
