- Version 10.0 "Epitaph" Update is Now LIVE - 25 May 2026
Hello all, as the title indicates the Version 10.0 Update for VoltAge:Genesis should now be LIVE. While you may note that there are now Steam achievements LISTED, they are not yet active...the simple reason for this is that I am working on them, and that it was my understanding based on the incredibly confusing way information is presented on the SteamWorks backend and documentation that I could begin to define the achievements, but that they would not appear until I made additional changes elsewhere. Guess they lied, or I misunderstood :D In any case, you can play the game now, and other than any new bugs that crop up, the only content changes left are the aforementioned achievements, which I hope to have done in the near future as part of a Version 10.1 update.

- Untitled - 19 January 2026
Hello everyone! I know...I know...I have completely blown past my self-imposed deadline on January 1st, AND I haven't even been letting you all know what's going on!The short version is:I am STILL working on the Version 10.0 update...many (almost all) of the things I identified as needing attention have been addressed, with an honest to goodness playtest beginning to identify any additional tweaks or bugs I may across...Steam achievements still need to be worked out, but other than that we are essentially DONE with all the "solid" changes and are now just tweaking dialogue, drops, etc. and making sure nothing is objectively broken. What's that...? You say you want the LONG version? Well, okay...here is the latest set of dev notes for the pending Version 10.0 release, entitled "Epitaph". As always, remember: these notes are NOT complete, and have not been implemented yet! VoltAge:Genesis…
- Progress Update (09/09/25) - 9 September 2025
Hey everyone! It's been a couple of weeks since the last progress update, and I have been hard at work buried in Excel spreadsheets because I don't know when to stop tinkering :D My "change log" is up to around 38 pages in Microsoft Word, and rather than blast you all with a wall of text that is largely the same as the previous post, I figured I would just offer a brief run through of what's happening with the development cycle for the Version 10.0 update, affectionately (lol) titled "Epitaph". ---------- While watching some recent footage of people playing VoltAge:Genesis, I sort of came to the conclusion that heavier armors did not seem to be "worth" the loss in Agility, especially since the game specifically focuses on shorter battles and places a high value on turn order. That led me to reviewing the stat conventions for armors, and I quickly realized that previous "tweaks" I made h…
- Progress on Next Version Update - 25 August 2025
Hello everyone! Back again with more additions to the growing list of changes, tweaks, and massive overhauls being done to prepare VoltAge:Genesis for the next (last) big update before I move on to other projects. As you'll see from the notes, I have read & heard everyone's concerns regarding the frequency of encounters with the rarer / more valuable enemies in the game...I also noted that there were times when players would spend a great deal of time wading through very low reward "filler" fights (such as fighting a single Lumva Beetle in a Level 70 area). As such, I spent a lot of my free time over the last week going through many of the dungeons / areas and making adjustments to the encounter tables. Additionally, a lot of has been done (and is still ongoing) to create a better sense of "value" (from a monetary standpoint) to fighting monsters at higher levels, mostly by making uncom…
- Progress on Version Update - 17 August 2025
Hello again everyone! As the title suggests, I just wanted to keep you posted on the status of the next big update to VoltAge:Genesis! The notes below are only the changes which have been implemented so far; expect more tweaking and fixes over the next couple of weeks, followed by a testing period for me to see if anything is broken and/or whether I have missed anything. In the meantime, keep letting me know if you have experienced any sorts of bugs, or if you have input on how to make the game a better experience overall. I can't promise I will be able (or willing) to implement every single thing you suggest, but I promise to consider it all very carefully. And so, without further ado, here are the current changes for the Version 10.0 Update to VoltAge:Genesis, also known as the "Epitaph" update...again, bear in mind that these changes A) have not yet been implemented, and B) are not a…
- Developer Announcement - 30 July 2025
Hey everyone! I've enjoyed watching a number of you out there stream your adventures (and misadventures) across The Deadlands on YouTube, Twitch, etc., and have continued to take note of minor (and major) bugs which have popped up. Even more, I have noted over time certain complaints / concerns as well as general balancing issues that I have noted in how players tend to gravitate towards or away from certain things in the game. All of this has been incredibly helpful, and will hopefully help to inform my work when I eventually finish school in December (fingers crossed!) and am able to start devoting more time to the VoltAge universe once again. That being said, while I do not have a set "finish" date yet, I just wanted to announce :I AM WORKING ON ANOTHER UPDATE TO VOLTAGE:GENESIS!I do not yet have enough to present you all with official dev notes, but here's a brief list of the thing…
