• Okashi Towers Free-to-Play Announcement and FAQ - 23 May 2024

  I am excited to announce that I will be making Okashi Towers free to download and keep on steam! Over the development of Okashi Towers I have learned a lot acting as a developer and publisher for the game. Ultimately the short answer for "Why free-to-play?" is that I don't want to keep Okashi Towers behind a paywall for anyone who wants to start a match and play with their friends. This announcement is to act as a warning in advance to allow anyone interested in the game to avoid paying for Okashi Towers (If you accidentally pay for it from now until it transfers to free-to-play I encourage you to issue a refund through steam support). Why are you doing this? As an indie developer it is very hard to build a player base for a multiplayer game, let alone for a game that is not free-to-play. The barrier to entry is currently too high. I am also focusing more on other projects as of now but…

  World Builder Script Objects Version 0.9.0 introduces a new initial set of objects in the World Builder that can customize the way a game is played. Each script object has customizable parameters to control what happens during a match. These can be categorized into three different types Triggers, Events, Game Settings. These new objects are found in the World Builder in the Object Layer at the end of the list (Press the left arrow once). Triggers A trigger is a type of script object that can start other script objects when certain conditions are met. Timed Trigger The Timed Trigger will call all events in the event list once the set amount of time has passed. This trigger can be set to repeat or only happen one time.   Tower Upgrades! As part of 0.8.2 it is now possible to upgrade towers! Towers can now be selected to display their upgrade menu. Tier 1 towers can be upgraded to Tier 2. Tier 2 towers can be upgraded to Tier 3. Tier 3 towers can be upgraded to the new set of Tier 4 towers. New Area of Effect Towers! Each faction has their own unique Area of Effect Tower at Tier 4. These towers deal damage to all enemies in the surrounding area. They also provide more resources than Tier 3 towers. However, their range is reduced and they are much more susceptible to ranged unit/tower attacks. New Support Towers!   Hello everyone! This update introduces a new way for gathering resources. There is a new map object now, the "Candy Cauldron". You can find these scattered around different maps and they are now available to be placed in custom maps using the World Builder! Destroying a Candy Cauldron will reward you with extra resources. They will eventually respawn as well. Many players have asked for different ways to actively gather more resources, in addition to the current passive way (building more towers).
