  • Survival Mode - 27 September 2025

Survival modeSurvival mode is here, and with it, a procedural map generator. Survival mode is easy, you start with a minute of time on your timer and must finish the generated map before your timer runs out. Successfully doing so gives you another minute on top of what you had left. Maps get longer after each success. This game mode feature an alternative with wider maps and adjusted bonus time. The two survival mode have their own leaderboard. New skid visualThere is now a new effect for skidding, instead of the smoke, you now have a clean trail on all surfaces. The width of this new effect is directly proportional to the lateral force on the wheel which is also the main factor for sparking (acceleration boost while drifting). This means that you can now precisely asses what you need to do in order to optimize your sparking. Here is a chart:New musicGradient Flow now features a complete…

  • Roadmap - 4 August 2025

Hi everyone! It's been a week since launch; thank you for all the support, feedback and enthusiasm.Rest assured, this is only the beginning, my vision for the Gradient Flow is far greater. Here is the roadmap for what's to come:Short-term:The game currently has almost nothing to guide new players. To address this, I'm implementing an easily expandable tutorial system. It will feature custom tracks that will first teach all the controls, then go into detail on the different driving mechanics.I will also start working on a new official campaign, it will feature achievements based on the medals obtained. A global leaderboard based on performance would be nice too.Medium-term:The short-term changes should add a fair amount of content for new players, but we could still do better. I have a couple of ideas in that direction but I need to see if I can make it work before talking about them. If y…

  • Skin Update - 30 July 2025

Any modification of the availability of any skins will be notified well in advance. Additional free skins will be part of future updates.

  • Path 1.18 - 29 July 2025

Full rewrite of the gameplay input system. The backend had an issue registering the play count on a map, it should be fixed soon.

  • Patch 1.17 - 29 July 2025

Fix inputs getting flushed when resuming play from looking at tabs. The chat box in multiplayer is now displayed at all times while in a lobby. (Will look into making old messages disappear after a short time while playing, and showing them back when chatting) There are now announcements when someone joins or leaves a lobby in the form of chat messages.

  • Patch 1.16 - 29 July 2025

  • Closed beta is here - 8 July 2024

Hello everyone We just launched a closed beta of Gradient Flow and we currently have 50 keys for that beta. To get one Steam key feel free to contact us(the full game will still be fully free, it's only for closed beta access). It can be activated like any other Steam key (Games > Activate a product on Steam). Nothing is expected from beta testers but we would really like to have feedback. The big new thing of that beta is the map editor, feel free to experiment with it, you can now create your own maps. Disclaimer: current version of the beta may be quite unstable and have bugs, expect to see them. There is no NDA on that beta, feel free to talk about it with other people or to create content with it. More features will come soon. • Kickstarter start to finish the funding of the game - 14 June 2024

Hello everyone After all this time we are finally on the last straight line until Gradient Flow release. Demo is here since the last Next Fest. Alpha version is coming by the end of the month. And while we are finishing and polishing the game mechanics and the code of the game we are still missing one thing before full release: cosmetics. Sadly our team artist isn't currently available at all so we are launching a crowdfunding to raise funds to hire one artist to do them for us. We expect to have the game technically finished by Augustus so it's a bit more like a preorder for you while it helps us by paying the artist for us. Even something small can help us greatly. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impeyrongames/gradient-flow

  • Author ghosts - 16 February 2024

-Added a gameplay tab in settings -Added an option to load my ghosts in the gameplay tab -Added the ability to close the in-game menu with the menu key -Fixed boolean options text not updating properly

  • Added Pause Menu + Some Fixes - 16 February 2024

-Added pause menu, it doesn't actual pause the gameplay for competitive reasons (you could slow time with an AHK script) -Added mouse smoothing setting -Added sections in the input settings -Added settings in the in game pause menu -Fixed a physics bug that only happens on one specific road section by increasing the bounding box of sections slightly, it shouldn't affect anything else but let me know if you encounter some collision bugs (ex: your ghost doesn't reach the finish line anymore)

  • Some improvements - 15 February 2024

-Changed the way different inputs interact; rather than take the greatest magnitude their sum is used instead, simplifying the code and allowing for interesting combination of control schemes -Remade most of the menu UI to be more consistent -When exiting a track you are now presented with the track list -I'm aware of a bug that makes the medium track list not select-able with controller before going in a race and coming back, oddly specific, sorry about that -Removed medal requirement for track, it was just an anti-fun mechanic that's not going to be in the full game anyway, sorry that it was there in the first place

  • Added Mouse Steering - 15 February 2024

-Added mouse steering -Added mouse sensitivity setting -Added smoothing time for input smoothing setting -Slightly improved quick steering direction change behavior for smoothed inputs

  • Smoothed Digital Input Bindings - 14 February 2024

-Added smoothed input binding for the steer, brake and accelerate actions.

  • Next Fest end and roadmap - 14 February 2024

Hello everyone, the Steam Next Fest ended but don't worry, our demo isn't going anywhere. Our demo will stay as basically public "early access" until the full release of our game and we'll keep updating it. We want to thanks all of you who tried our game and enjoyed it. On top of that we want to do some special thanks to the players who fought to take those top 1 from Vivi, it was really nice to see you all sharing your tips to try to find the perfect path and I'm sure there will be even more of that in the future. You'll find our roadmap with our objectives until our closed alpha and then until our game release. Obviously game release won't be the end of our support for the game. Thanks again to all of you and may the odds be with you on the tracks.
