• Let's Learn Lingít - Engine Update - 15 February 2025

  The latest patch is to get the language games back up in running to their functional state. This update should fix any game breaking bugs and will allow users to use the placenames map again without issue.

• English Hints Feature - 8 July 2024

  **NEW: Effective immediately for PC users, all ENGLISH hints will be hidden by default and can be toggled off/on via the HUD. This will allow learners to quiz themselves and not rely solely on the English cues for assistance, but wanted to leave the option in there so they can double check their guess.   The Mac version is up and running now. Apologies in advance on some of those textures, especially that totem pole in the main menu. Getting a WORKABLE notarized version was the goal here. Everyone's patience is much appreciated while I figure out how to do all of this! :)

• Placenames - Audio Cues - 7 March 2024

  Feel free to fly above the ovoids in the Placenames map to listen and follow along with me as we practice the ~3500 placenames of Southeast Alaska. This addition brings total audio cues to over 8,000. It's not about being perfect, it's about going through the motions and practicing :) Source maps and translations can be found in the "Haa Léelk'w Hás Aaní Saax'ú: Our Grandparents' Names on the Land (Thornton).

• Placenames - Coordinates Fix - 21 February 2024

  Third times the charm. Fixed the coordinates issue so everyone should be able to fly around the Placenames map and see all 3000+ placenames. I sincerely want everyone to be able to enjoy placenames study with this interactive map and the power of unreal engine!

• Placenames ACTUAL Fix - 21 February 2024

  Had a weird bug where a different map was being overlayed over placenames map. Fixed now and you should be able to see all 3000+ placenames and peruse Southeast Alaska :)

• Audio Update 2 and Alphabet Widget - 21 February 2024

  Added 1500 more of my practice audio cues to the Say it in Tlingit floor. Bringing total audio cue count to 4600. Added a simple alphabet sound widget (ABC widget on left) to the showrooms and built it into the glossary. Continuing to fix cosmetic things moving forward. I have one more update planned for audio which is to get the cues directly into the glossary. I have a volunteer to do the English audio cues which should assist the younger learners. Overall, it's way beyond my original vision for the project and have kept costs minimal to non-existent so I am a happy camper. Gunalchéesh for joining me on my language learning journey :)

• Placenames Fix - 12 February 2024

  One more update! Now you can see the full map when you load into placenames. Whereas before it was disorienting and you were in a flying orb. If you have a slower computer, give your computer a second to load everything in as it's loading an entire region in. With this and this last audio update, things are looking up!

• Audio Update 1 - 12 February 2024

  Now incorporated are AUDIO CUES in the showroom. Have fixed numerous errors in the process and there are now audio cues in the first half of the showrooms (3100 audio cues so far). Kindly reminding everyone I am a beginning speaker trying to lay a strong programming foundation. I will work on doing videos of the Say it in Tlingit phrases next and will eventually incorporate these audio and video cues right into the glossary. Those videos are linked on main page with the excel sheet. Still not sure how far I am taking this, just know I am a Tlingit man that doesn't know how to speak the language and am going to keep pushing this until I can say I put my best foot forward. • Placenames + Verbs + Oratory - 17 January 2024

  Massive update brings total content to over 12,000 translations/interpretations. Along with that, the following features and/or modules were added: Placenames Module - All Southeast Alaska placenames using google data to EXPLORE Oratory - These are pictures of my excel notes pertaining to various Tlingit oratory references and books. It's the data from these Tlingit sources. For the additional narratives, I recommend buying the resources directly. Only disclaimer is that I had trouble discerning the i from the í in the Dauenhauer publications. Verb Search - Below the dictionary quick search icon in left of showroom levels, there is an hourglass with a V on it where you can now search specifically for verbs Verb Dictionary Tab - I've added the VERB DICTIONARY to the glossary tab and have generated more images to go with it.
