- Monster of the Week #5: Fog Puker - 17 September 2026
Hey there, folks! This week we’re heading back to the Purple Lands to meet the Fog Puker. It has an enormous mouth, a pond to guard, and a way of closing the distance when you think you’re safe.A few tips on how to NOT GET INTO THAT HUGE MOUTHFirst and foremost, stay away from the pond. Here is why: Fog Pukers were ordinary frogs, but when the Fog reached their ponds, their skin thickened and their stomachs enlarged; they built up a volatile mixture inside their bodies and learned to hurl it at intruders.A Fog Puker will usually leave you alone if you keep your distance from its pond. If you get too close, it starts defending its territory. If it spits at you (uh-oh), its projectiles burst and deal elemental damage.Leap can carry it across most of an arena in one jump; getting too close leaves you no chance to get away undamaged. And once it reaches you, Chew follows with three quick bites…

- Monster of the Week #4: Parasitic Bees - 4 September 2026
Hey there, folks! Welcome back to Monster of the Week, the series where we take one of DDoD's mutants, look at what it is, how it behaves, and how it slowly turned from a rough idea into something you really do not want to meet in the wild. Parasitic Bees 🐝Most monsters in DDoD are easy to describe as one creature. The Parasitic Bees are different, though. What you are looking at is a colony that has completely taken over a moose and turned it into a moving nest. That is the important part. This is not a moose with bees around it, as it may look like. It's a scarier thing. This is a bee colony with antlers. At some point, the host stopped being the main story. The swarm became the real creature. The moose still carries the weight, the horns, and the silhouette. But the infected body now serves a much worse purpose. It provides the colony with protection, mobility, and space to grow. Th…

- Monster of the Week #3: Cow Gunner - 21 August 2026
Hey there, folks!Welcome back to Monster of the Week, the series where we take one of DDoD’s mutants, put it under the development microscope, and show how it went from an idea to something that is very clearly trying to kill you.Cow Gunner 🐄When the Fog spread across the region, some livestock were left trapped inside abandoned farms. They kept breathing the contaminated air, and eventually something inside them changed. The Cow Gunner’s lungs and stomach mutated into a kind of unstable elemental reactor. Fog builds up inside its body, condenses into volatile masses, and can then be released as explosive projectiles. So yes.The cow has guns now!Its exposed ribcage has been torn outward and reshaped around its body. Beneath the skin, glowing elemental veins pulse through the creature as the Fog keeps feeding the mutation.Despite its size, the Cow Gunner is not just a slow ranged enemy.Get…
- DDoD is Part of Ukrainian Games Festival 2026! - 17 August 2026
Hey there, Folks!DDoD is taking part in Ukrainian Games Festival 2026 — and it's live on Steam right now, August 17–24.It feels like a good moment to say something out loud to everyone who has joined our community along the way:DDoD is made in Ukraine.Behind the monsters, the fog, and the abandoned places you've run into is a Ukrainian development team. Most of us are in Ukraine, some of us aren't right now - and “from home” has a slightly different meaning for the ones who are. 🇺🇦 MAKING DDoD IN UKRAINEWe're building this game during a full-scale war. For the part of the team that's home, that's not a dramatic statement, it's just the schedule - air-raid alerts, blackouts, plans that fall apart in the morning and get rebuilt the same evening. You learn to work around it, and it gets normal faster than you'd expect. What we didn't expect is that working on the game is what keeps us goi…
- Monster of the Week #2: Frograt - 12 August 2026
Hey there, folks!Welcome back to Monster of the Week, the series where we take one of DDoD’s mutants, put it under the development microscope, and try to explain exactly how several completely normal animals somehow became... well, this. Last time, we met the Heroncobra. This week we’re leaving the long legs and venom behind. Instead, we’d like to introduce you to something lower to the ground. Something slower. Something that, for a few seconds, might even make you think: “Oh. That doesn’t look too dangerous.”Please enjoy those few seconds.Meet the Frograt 🐸 🐀The Frograt is approximately the size of a large dog. Its front half resembles an oversized, deeply unpleasant rat: fur, claws, sharp teeth and a head built for biting things that would strongly prefer not to be bitten. The rear half is much closer to a frog, with enormous folded hind legs capable of launching the entire creature…

- [Devlog] Monster of the Week #1: Heroncobra - 4 August 2026
Hey there, folks!Welcome to the first issue of Monster of the Week - a new series in which we drag one of DDoD’s mutants out of the swamp, place it in a spotlight, and explain what it is, how it hunts, and what happened behind the scenes while we were creating it. So the first subject is a creature that perfectly represents the local wildlife’s tendency to make your day worse: Meet the Heroncobra 🐢🐍At first glance, the Heroncobra may look like an unusually dark rock, an abandoned shell, or another harmless piece of swamp scenery. That is precisely what it wants you to think. The Heroncobra is a territorial venomous predator combining the long-legged agility of a heron, the fangs and flexible body of a cobra and the defensive shell of a turtle. It is most commonly found in swampy and forested areas, where muddy water, reeds, fallen branches and poor visibility provide plenty of opportun…

- Community cleanses the Purple Lands differently - WATCH THEM - 8 July 2026
We rounded up footage from players who've already entered the Purple Lands and cut it into a single broadcast. Same zone, same Fog, same adorable things trying to eat everyone, and somehow completely different playthroughs. Hit play and watch DDoD get cleansed (and, uh, un-cleansed) a whole bunch of different ways. ▶️ HOW TO WATCHThe broadcast is running on our store page — just hit play, sit back, and watch other people make questionable decisions in the Fog so you don't have to. No sign-up, no download. 🎬 WANT TO BE IN THE NEXT ONE?Already played the demo and caught a run worth showing off? Drop your clip in our Discord — the best ones make the next broadcast. Clean speedrun, cursed co-op, or a heroic last stand two feet from the exit: we want it all. Roll the tape. Try not to get too attached to anyone — the Fog doesn't. See you in the Fog, The DDoD Team 🐌
