• Devlog - Cards Design Part.2 - 14 October 2023

  Hello Divers ! 🤿 Here the second part about cards design in Under Pressure. Check first part before reading. Story 🐙 We follow the ascent of a diver to the surface. In his journey he meets allies who will help him move faster. There was a desire to maintain constant pressure on the diver. We wanted to have an ongoing action on each card. Independently of each other they tell something new, like comic strips. Art Style 🫧 📢 Mangouste speaking! We wanted to start developing a visual identity for our games. Through the Under Pressure's character duo, it allowed us to set up an artistic workflow. The implementation of a card template seemed necessary to me, to easily deploy a large volume of assets dynamically. Any addition or modification of assets is quickly published.   Hello Divers ! 🤿 I am currently working on visuals and sounds improvements for next update! Check it on my socials! Mangouste make all art on my games, follow her on Instagram! Art Adaptation 🐙 Under Pressure is a video game adaptation of Tim Fower's "Fugitive" board game. Gameplay is based on cards. Values goes from #0 to #42 and show the escape of a Thief chased by a Detective. We decided to adapt the game in a 1930's underwater style. With a Diver whishes to reach surface and a Kraken chasing him. We were excited about this idea as it could be challenging enough to make, with a lot of references and easy to create an atmosphere with sounds and FXs. Diver was the perfect character to work on our human style. We wanted a comic style that can be easy to reproduce, recognizable and have poses that we could reuse in the future.
