- Playtest Week - 9 September 2026
Greetings Commanders!Since the launch of the demo I’ve been busy working on lots of new content and improvements. It’s been a year now since the first playtest. Getting your feedback has always been the best way to improve the game, that’s why we are running another playtest for Main Sequence starting next week on September 17th.Playtest WeekUnlike the playtest last year, this playtest is only going to be available from September 17th to September 25th. During that time you’ll have access to the full content of the game, and I’m excited to see how far you make it in a week. The demo will remain available during that time and so to access the playtest you will have to sign up separately, and it will appear as its own app in your Steam library. If you have signed up for the previous playtest, you won’t get a notification when it goes live so make sure to check your Steam library on the 17t…
- Thank You for 100 000 Wishlists! - 9 June 2026
Greetings Commanders! It has been almost 2 weeks since the Demo went live, and it's been great to see so many players both returning from the playtest and checking out Main Sequence for the first time. Thanks to your support, Main Sequence now has more than 100 000 wishlists! It has been great to see lots of new feedback for the Demo. Because Main Sequence combines many genres, as the game reaches new players there are many different expectations for what kind of game Main Sequence is and can be. Being able to customize your experience in Main Sequence so that you can focus on the parts of the game that you enjoy the most is something that I will keep working on for the Early Access release. Some of these features, such as peaceful mode, are already in the demo and there will be more to come to scale the difficulty of things such as combat, research and automation requirements. Thanks agai…

- Thank You for Playtesting! - 27 May 2026
Greetings Commanders! After many months of gathering feedback and making improvements, the alpha playtest is now closed. Thank you for checking out the playtest and sharing your ideas and feedback! Seeing what this community has built in Main Sequence is incredible, and has been an important part of shaping the continuing development of the game. The next step of development is going to be the Demo, which will be coming out very soon. The demo features a complete visual overhaul of the ships, stations, and factories. There are some new production lines to build, new enemies to fight, and lots of improvements and fixes.Even though the Playtest is closed, building the game alongside the community is still a guiding principle of the game's development. I look forward to seeing your new builds, ideas, and feedback for the demo when it releases, and I will continue to work on making Main Sequ…
- Thank You for 50,000 Wishlists! - 13 February 2026
Greetings Commanders!Main Sequence has just crossed the incredible milestone of gathering 50,000 wishlists. Thank you so much for your support! When I started working on Main Sequence my goal was to get 10,000 wishlists before launch. Because of everyone who has checked out Main Sequence and shared it with friends, we have blown way past that before the demo is even released, so thank you! I'm more motivated than ever to bring you the best version of Main Sequence, something that is only possible thanks to the great feedback and suggestions people have shared as part of the Playtest. The Playtest will still be open for a little while longer, so make sure to check it out!Development has been continuing steadily and for the first time, I'd like to share a look into the universe you'll be entering and your role in it: Humanity’s reach once stretched across the galaxy. But that golden age wa…
- Main Sequence in 2026 - 19 January 2026
Greetings Commanders! It’s been a while since the last update, but the development of Main Sequence has been moving along at a steady pace behind the scenes. There were a lot of exciting milestones for Main Sequence in 2025 which I’ll highlight in this post, as well as give you an idea as to what to expect from Main Sequence in 2026. Public PlaytestThe biggest milestone of 2025 was the release of the public playtest back in August. The interest in the playtest far exceeded my expectations, and it has been great to see so many people enjoying the game even in this early stage. A big thanks especially to all of the creators and streamers who covered the playtest. Not only does it help share the game with new audiences, it is super helpful as a developer to see the live playthroughs and reactions of people checking out the game for the first time. The playtest highlighted some key issues as…
- Introducing Main Sequence - 12 August 2025
Welcome aboard Commanders! I'm Kaiden, the solo developer of Main Sequence, here to report on the state of the game. For the past couple months, I've been focusing on polishing the demo for a September 2025 release, with a specific date TBA. Development has really been picking up recently, and there's a lot I'm excited to share.Core Gameplay LoopThe first step of any factory game is gathering resources. In Main Sequence, there are two ways to do this: mining asteroids with your ship, and building mining drone bays on stations. You can build out your ships and stations with as many of these as you like, provided you have enough power to run them. This lets you significantly scale your mining operations even in the early game. The Designer is where you build and expand your ships and stations. In game, you can access the designer either in the Command module to edit your station, or in the…
