- A Brand New Experience │ TERMINAL ERROR V0.33 - 15 June 2026
WE'RE 90% THERE!With V0.33, we've fleshed out all the mechanics, aesthetics, plotlines and experience for Terminal Error: Episode 1. This version is a huge upgrade from our last update, introducing expanded and refined maps, more innovative mechanics, and a completable game with an actual conclusion!Although we've been testing and debugging the game, Terminal Error is not there yet. For this last stretch of the Early Access, we need help finding Bugs and suggesting improvements from the community! What is Included? As we've shared in previous Devlogs, Terminal Error has gotten an entirely new Overworld UI and touched-up Interfaces.Aesthetics and Atmosphere have also been improved, with a greater utilisation of our Slideshow and Pop-Up systems, paired with the use of in-game Animated Scenes. The behavioural mechanics of our Monster and Boss have also been improved, with most loose ends tie…
- Animations │ Devlog #10 - 21 May 2026
sNew AnimationsTaking more inspiration from Indie Horror RPGs, we've started work on several in-game animation cutscenes. The audio and pacing still need some edits, but the general idea is there. Here is a quick look at the progress we've made!Toilet SceneBe careful when entering the Toilet... You never know what you might see...Vent SceneThe infection has infiltrated deeper than it looks... The vents are overflowing with flesh and gore...Flesh Cave SceneEven the tunnels and caverns have been completely taken over by the flesh, digging it's roots in every crevice and corner...Carpark SceneThe carpark is overrun... If I were you, I wouldn't park my car there anymore...Combat Ration SceneThe food doesn't look appetising either... - New Lighting & Layout│ Devlog #9 - 15 May 2026
Focusing on LooksTaking a short break from working on game mechanics, we've completed the lighting redesign and fixing room and map layouts to make Terminal Error more visually appealing and eye catching to make the various area more unique and interesting to traverse throughColours & MoodsThe key idea behind our aesthetic change was to add more atmosphere into the game through utilising stronger and more distinct.Next Steps? Now that we're mostly satisfied with the looks, our remaining checklist is:(1) In-Game Animations: We'll be finishing up all 3D animations for the world while also introducing all new 2D animations to help with world building and setting the atmosphere(2) Monster & Boss Behaviour: Behaviours will also be revisited and completed to finally round off the survival-horror-like element and combat aspect of the game(3) Mechanics & Flow: Tying all the gameplay elements and…
- Behavioural Upgrades│ Devlog #8 - 30 April 2026
So What's New?This is the first iteration of our new monster behaviours. We found that the monster's animations were weak, and the monster's approach reduced its fear factor. In order to fix this, we've chosen to lean more into visual effects and creative behavioural approaches to hide our weaknesses and play into our strengths.BUT DO NOTE! These are very bare-bones updates! The code to implement these features have been made, but bug testing must still be done, and animations and visual elements need to be perfected still! We've introduced these behaviours: (1) Hiding Behaviour(2) Sneak Attack(3) Freak OutSo what exactly are these new additions?Hiding BehaviourThe original behaviour of our monster was very confrontational, with it patrolling the facility to find the Player. However, this behaviour allowed the monster to be stopped from far distances or simply walking around, making it l…
- New Plans! │ Devlog #7 - 14 April 2026
It's Been Awhile!Terminal Error has now been in development for several years with many ups and downs in the process. It's been about half a year since our last major update, and an update is definitely overdue.Looking at the response and feedback from our previous updates, it was clear that the state of Chapter 1 was not good enough even for an Early Access. We don't want to disappoint with our game, and have put in our best effort in perfecting Chapter 1, fixing mechanics, improving UI, tidying the story up and adjusting bugs along the way. However, this is a very difficult task for our team of 2, and we're still crawling to the finish line on this one. However, the future is bright! We've made strides in our progress, and we're aiming to finish Chapter 1 completely by this Summer. A Major Update will be release somewhere around Early to Mid June, pushing out most of the content for th…

- Major Update│Early Access V0.21 - 24 June 2025
We're Making Progress!Since our last build, we felt that we wanted to go further with the game and take the time to make a truly outstanding experience. After months of hard work, we've finally firmed up the mechanics, aesthetics and gameplay of Terminal Error. Although this portion of the game is not yet complete, we have made great strides, creating something we believe is exceptional! So, What's New?We've expanded the world. - Early Access V0.2 - 19 December 2024
New Map and Minigames In the newest update, we've added in the The Tunnel. The area is filled with more minigames and areas to explore, building off the general gameplay of the Tutorial. However, due to time constraint, we were not able to perfect the AI and mechanics for our Monster and thus chose not to put it in just yet. We have been working tirelessly to make the game and are hoping to fully complete the Monster as well as this area by the end of December. Minigame Showcase Here is just a short look at some of the minigames we've introduced Map Showcase And here are some shots of the larger map in general Future Plans The next part we have in store after tidying up the map, minigames and monster is to introduce the first boss fight for the game. We're currently looking at completing this in Quarter 1 of 2025. More importantly, we would like to hear more constructive feedback from t…

What Do We Have In Store? We've been working on the next major update for a while now, and we're getting close to pushing it out there. Currently, we have a massive new map, new minigames and most importantly, monster encounters and interactions in store. This will build off the concepts of the tutorial level and upgrade it to a larger, more dynamic world. A Whole New World The map we've been working on is nearly complete for now, so here's a little peak into some of what we've been working on... We'll be releasing more images and updates on our progress in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! We Need Feedback! Also, we would really appreciate any feedback for the next part! It's quite a bit more content and we would love to hear more Player comments! We're just two brothers working on this game together... the team is small, and our resources are limited. Because of this, there might be bu…

- Mechanics Overhaul│Devlog #04 - 1 August 2024
We're Still Alive! It's been awhile since we've done an update, but don't worry! We're still hard at work on the game! We've been tirelessly refining to the Concept, Mechanics and User Interface of Terminal Error, and the game is finally taking on it's final form. Stay tuned to our more frequent updates in the coming weeks, but for now, you'll have to settle for a quick look at our more polished Point-and-Click elements! Minigames, Dialogues and Movement To start off, we've streamlined the minigames, splitting them into layer stages for Players to go through. You'll find objects to observe, items to pick up, posters and notes to look at and even devices to tinker around with in our new and improved minigame system. Alongside improving the minigames, we've also touched up on the dialogue aesthetic and taken much time to make it cohesive with our new overworld interface. Lastly, we've sta…
- Doors, Doors and More Doors│Devlog #03 - 9 April 2024
Movable Doors Just a minor update, but we've created movable doors! The over world will be decorated with small intractable items like this (such as cabinets, light switches and many more!), not only as a way to spice up the maps but to also add to the experience. In the case of the doors, items can be hidden behind them, and other intractable will likely have other functions tied to them (like turning a device on or off). We'll be be working harder on mechanics in the coming weeks, so look forward to that!
- New Environments│Devlog #02 - 5 April 2024
New Maps Playing around with our lighting, shaders and world, we've come up with some new haunting maps to share. Currently, we are working on the administrative areas, building desolate and oppressive work spaces. The areas might change, but I think we've got the vibe down! Guardhouse Acting as the starting area, find your way out of the unsettling guardhouse and figure out what tragedy has befallen the base. Lounge Usually bustling with life, the lounge is now left eerily empty. A large and spacious area, the room is littered with furnishing and a beautiful blue theme. Office Hallway Made out of a catacomb of claustrophobic halls, sharp turns and confusing pathways, explore the labyrinth-like office space. If you're lucky, you won't find any monsters waiting for you behind every corner. Electrical Room Controlling the flow of energy in this entire floor, the electrical room is clutter…
- PC-98 Throwback│Devlog #01 - 21 March 2024
Interface Update Inspired by PC-98 styled frames and interfaces, we've taken their layout and brought it to another level. With elements of Sci-fi infused in it, we've invented our own experimental aesthetic interface. With key functions such as accessing items, checking the world map, using the gun and many others incorporated into our interface, it will be a huge focal point in our gameplay! Overworld UI Explore the eerie world of Terminal Error with the help of your trusty gun and map. And don't forget, if you ever need help, just use the radio... Minigame UI Find the missing parts, put the pieces together and solve the puzzles that block your way as you delve deeper into the facility... Inventory UI If you have the time, why not inspect your items and figure out what they do. Some of them might be more useful than you think... Settings Menu UI And of course, tinker with out settings…
