- Devlog Part-8 - 9 June 2026
Hello everyone!Time keeps moving forward, and so does the project. Slowly, but steadily, The Flat continues to take shape. Some members of the team had to ease off for a while and return to their day-to-day responsibilities, while the rest focused on selected parts of the game. In short — the reality of a small indie studio.Even so, despite the slower pace and the challenges that come with it, The Flat keeps moving forward.So...NEW LEVEL (LET'S STEP OUTSIDE)Work on the new level has been underway for quite some time now, and with each passing week its final shape becomes clearer. Alongside the familiar tight corridors typical of corporate architecture, we've decided to introduce a more open environment. It differs from the locations we've shown before, featuring a more dreamlike atmosphere and a somewhat more complex gameplay structure.Everything—from the new rooms to additional environ…
- Devlog Part 7 - 10 May 2026
Hey everyone!A lot has happened since the last devlog. Things are slowly picking up pace, both inside and outside the project. The past few weeks have been a mix of intense work, experiments, improvements, and our first real interactions with you. But let’s go step by step:FROM FOUNDATIONS TO PROGRESSSome parts of development required going back to the fundamentals, especially in the area of animation. In several cases, we had to approach things in a more “traditional” way, polishing elements that had previously seemed finished. As a result, we expanded the tech art side of the project and created level design documentation. At the same time, we’re testing new tools while solving some very annoying technical issues along the way.The outcome is a solid foundation that we can continue building upon. These may not be particularly spectacular things, but without them, nothing would work proper…

Hey everyone, let’s get right into it without any unnecessary chit-chat.First thing, HUGE THANKS FOR 2,000 WISHLISTS!Many may think that it's not a lot, especially compared to AA/AAA studios, where those wishlist numbers are simply incomparable. For us 2000 is a lot and we did it pretty much without any marketing on our end. We achieved this through hard work and by occasionally participating in events. This is a huge step for us and of course a big motivator. So thank you, to the single one of you who added The Flat to the wishlist and follow us on our journey. Now, with that addressed, let’s move on to what was done on the project.Battery / Quest / PlacementYou might’ve already seen it on our Discord channel (this isn’t exactly shining new), but as we mentioned in the last updates, we skipped one month and now we are backtracking a bit.It looks like simple mechanics in a GIF, and it i…
- Devlog notes - Part 4 - 16 July 2025
Welcome to another monthly update. Even though our last one was in April – we know we are late. We were always open about the fact that The Flat is being worked on besides our full time jobs and personal life and sometimes, there is just no time. But enough shit talking, let’s dive deep into what you missed XDOpening sceneWe are a bit obsessed with live level menus here and even though we do not have a main menu– just yet, we do have an opening scene. The idea is to make this whole thing reactive and interactive, but let’s leave this to your imagination now. Archive roomThe Flat is made out of mean looking places. Mean looking = not supposed to look like flowers and rainbows, but a dangerous and brutal environment, pretty much the one you would find working in a corporation XD Another location here created by Malaria is the Archive Room. As with everything we try to add, all will be ser…
- Devlog notes - Part 3 - 10 April 2025
Another month of dedicated development passed and we are bringing another news about The Flat. There have been some visual updates but also some code updates. Eye Animation It is no news that The Eye will play some role in the game apart from the visual one. We don’t want to spoil way too much and take away the fun part, but we want to make sure that it will look (and work) epic. That is why Michał “Malaria” added new animations for The Eye. Once we begin to work on implementing the features, we’ll be sure to post some snippets here and there. So I recommend you to follow our Discord . Broken ENON Conveyor Belt With the evolution of quests and storyline, more models are needed. And those models need for sure to fit the style of The Flat. Over the months, when looking back at the beginnings, we can see what has been added and honestly it does keep me amazed, how much more this world can…
- Devlog notes - Part 2 - 6 March 2025
After a month and our promise we pledged to you all, we are coming with another content update for The Flat. Quite a few things happened in the past month and we are excited to share those with you in as much detail as we can. Battery Holder Without giving away too much information, Battery Holder is an essential part of the game and will play a major role in the gameplay. That’s why it needs to look sexy and fit the surroundings. We were playing out with some concepts and different versions, but in the end Malaria managed to create this detailed piece. From a white cube, I would call it a major improvement. Trash Bin with Enons Another item that might or might not play some role in the gameplay is the Trash Bin with Enons (the main and common enemy in The Flat). We are toying with some ideas as to what we can do with this, but it might as well stay just as a static object that will mai…
- Devlog notes - Part 1 - 3 February 2025
Hello everyone! The time has come to finally share a bit more about the development process of The Flat. For those of you following us on Discord you probably already know that we post small updates there every Friday. However, we've been pretty quiet here, and I’ll be honest—it’s not because we didn’t want to share. It’s just that between development and life, there wasn’t much time to write a full post, and for a while, we didn’t have many exciting things to show in full. But that’s changed. As we approach the demo release in the coming months, we’re excited to let you in on what’s been happening in The Flat. This project has been through a lot. Development started back in late 2022, and since then, we’ve gone through countless prototypes, concepts, and changes. So much has been added and evolved that it feels like the right time to give you a peek. Right now, we’re in the polishing p…
