Hi everyone! Quick update for you!Squishy Blocklets? We've been experimenting with some new tech that gives us way more freedom in Blocklet animations. Behold! They're so squishy! And they can be way more expressive now too!On the other hand, they look quite different now - and we're not 100% on the new visuals. We'd really like your feedback here! Do you like them? Do you prefer the old ones? Do you think the new ones would feel chewy, and what would they taste like? And what have we been up to?Our time recently has been spent applying for federal funding (which is a lot of paperwork). If we get accepted, we'd be able to spend a lot more time actually finishing the game, so here's hoping! And, as always, work on the game itself continues to be slow but steady.Dokomi! We'll be at Dokomi this weekend! You'll be able to find us at the Creative Games corner - come and say hi if you're around!Al…

Hey everyone! New Dev_Update coming your way!Magma Blocks are Reworked! We never quite liked how magma blocks caused an instant Game Over, exploding at the slightest touch. They were needlessly punishing and frustrating to play with, and because of that it was difficult to make fun levels with them. So we used the opportunity of the re-write to re-work!(bear in mind, the Blocklets are still placeholdering!)Magma blocks are still scorching hot, and the Blocklets really don't like touching them - but at least they don't explode in your face anymore! From Hot to ColdThe ice block is our newest addition to our roster. Within its freeze zone, all special traits of other blocks are turned off: sand stops falling, bouncers stop being bouncy, teleporters deactivate...Oh and - by popular demand - frozen blocks are now slippery! You're welcome!Alright, that's all from me for now, but we've still go…

Hey everyone!Coming out of the developer cave for a bit to give you guys an update on where we're at. So... Online Multiplayer is surprisingly difficult to do!Those of you who've followed us for a while know that online multiplayer is the main thing missing for us to do a full release - we want you to be able to play Block_Up with your friends regardless of whether they're sitting with you on the couch or if they're on the other side of the world!Block_Up started as a game jam project, and the original code ran on the programming equivalent of duct-tape and hope. As we continued development on it, it grew organically into a chaotic - but functional! - mess. Think of a charming, blocky little robot with terrible cable management, where the leg joints are for some reason connected to the eye sensors - that was Block_Up. Changing anything came at a pretty big risk of things breaking - I di…

Hey everyone! We've been a bit quiet the past few months, but that's 'cause we've been cooking! Let's catch you up to speed. What's changed? This (Bl)Oc(k)tober will be the 2 year anniversary of the GameJam in which Block_Up was born. A lot of things have changed since then. Look at that glowup! Apart from the visual update, we've also added a bunch more block types for you to break and place as you please, controller support for most things, tons of small QoL changes, as well as a fancy level editor! We look forward to seeing all the blocktastic levels you come up with. Why's the blocking game not released yet?! Whilst the core game itself is basically done, a lot of the stuff around the game isn't yet - the biggest and most important being online multiplayer. But trust us when we say the game will be out as soon as it's ready - we want you to be able to play it too! You mentioned Bloc…
