- ISN Updates: Where's Arynnia, Milestone Program, Unity Vulnerability - 4 October 2025
So, quite a lot has happened. I ended up with a computer rebuild that borked things, then in a move, and now there's a Unity issue to talk about. So, let's talk about all of it. Where's Arynnia? Long story short, my ability to release new versions of *Idle Space Navy* got compromised when my computer failed and I had to move to much different hardware. I was not able to get my signing certificate at the time to move onto the new computer, which left me unable to release new code-signed versions of Idle Space Navy - thereby hamstringing the Milestone Program and preventing further releases. I'm now in the middle of a move, but once that's done, things will hopefully stabilize, so we'll see where things can go. I'm hoping to resume development by the end of the year and am targeting version 1.00 for 2027 - I'll update the Early Access information in the coming hours to days. Will the Mile…
- ISN: A Mini-News Update - 20 November 2024
Please excuse the cover images - the 0.11 Milestone Program is still a thing, nothing's changing with that, though I might be looking to add another member or two. Stay tuned. So, it's been a hot minute since some news has come out on Idle Space Navy 0.11. A lot of that is that I've had to take a lot of time for my mental health, as well as some other stuff going on. For that, I sincerely apologize. I'm still working through a lot of my mental/emotional health (having company at work again is helping a lot with this), but I'm starting to feel that creative spark for Idle Space Navy returning. I can't honestly say when I'll have a release date for 0.11 (I'm hoping before the new year, but this is not a guarantee), but I hope to be back at work on it before the end of this month. Thank you all for bearing with me, and I'm so sorry it's taken so long for me to get moving forward again.
- The ISN 0.11 Milestone Program - 22 July 2024
I've noticed that, as the releases for ISN have grown, so have the early bugs. I don't always catch every single bug that crops up in the code, so I've decided it's time to open up a testing program for Idle Space Navy releases. The Milestone Program is that program, and applications to be part of the 0.11 Milestone Program are now open. How it works. Once applications close (at 10pm Pacific Time on 26 July 2024, or a little under four and a half days from now), I will be selecting 3-5 applicants, sending them Discord invitations to the Phoenix Aura server as well as Steam access to the closed beta for ISN 0.11.0 - which will begin with the first Milestone build no later than 01 August 2024. Milestone builds will work on an incremental basis - all the bugs with the first feature set (Milestone Build 0) will be resolved in future Milestone Builds (Build 1, 2, 3, ...) before the next feat…
- Idle Space Navy Devnote XXXVIII - 7 July 2024
July 6, 2024 (at least in the time zone I'm writing this post). Today is the 588th day since I've set off on the journey that has been Idle Space Navy. There was the disorganized fun of the pre-Steam period, the reality check of the Steam release, and steady improvements in the game since then. As much as some reviews drive me nuts with their complete lack of meaningful feedback, those that have left reviews and discussions on both Steam and in Discord have helped me hone my skills and redesign the game. Now, with 10 major versions and 38 total versioned releases behind me, it's time to take the next step and start the development of Idle Space Navy 0.11. There's a lot being packed into this update, so I'm going to lay it out. (If you don't want to read the planned changes, though, jump down to the "Milestone Program" header for information on my closed testing program.) The fourth Alie…

- Idle Space Navy 0.10.6 - 30 May 2024
Another day, another batch of bugs zapped - but this one is a new version because of a small catch-up bonus on Artifact collection as well! On a related note, all players from pre-0.10.6 are receiving 2500 Calibration Chips as a bonus. Here's what's new in Idle Space Navy 0.10.6: New Feature Added a small catch-up CC bonus on Artifact collection to counter effects of Lab ship/weapon level rebalance. This part of the patch did not push in 0.10.6. If there are any future patches to 0.10, it and the 2500 CC bonus (which also did not push) will be applied. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug related to the Foundry Automate in pre-0.10 saves. Fixed a bug relating to the Command Center Effectiveness module. Fixed a visual bug in Daily Rewards. Fixed more visual bugs relating to Boosts. Fixed a few minor bugs relating to Artifact collection and the Lab.

- ISN 0.10.3 Quick Fix for 0.09 Saves - 26 May 2024
There was a minor hiccup in automates for saves made in 0.09.x - this has now been corrected and those saves should load.
- Quick fix for saves on 0.10.3 - 26 May 2024
The community found another save hiccup. All your old saves are good, but everything should now work in 0.10.3. A few visual bugs were zapped as well.

Idle Space Navy 0.10.0 is live, and comes out with a whole host of improvements! For more details, check out Devnote XXXVII on Phoenix Aura (with screenshots) or on Steam! A full changelog will be posted tomorrow morning.
- ISN Devnote XXXVII - 24 May 2024
To view this Devnote with screenshots, check it out on the Phoenix Aura website. Good news: I'm not dead! The long story short is that I'd been fighting a persistent stomach ailment ever since the release of Idle Space Navy 0.09.5, and that really limited my energy to work on the project (along with any of my other projects). That, however, has finally resolved, and I'm back up to full energy. The good news there is that I've finally cleaned up the new Items UI and Deployment Center, and after that, everything else has been falling into place - so here's the news you've been waiting for: Idle Space Navy 0.10.0 Releases 25 May That's right, we finally have a definite release date for Idle Space Navy 0.10.0! After a much longer release cycle for all projects involved than I intended (I had originally intended 0.10.0 to be out in early April, and that after I developed a small idle game fo…
- Idle Space Navy Devnote XXXVI - 30 March 2024
Greetings, Commanders! There's been precious little news since Devnote XXXV kicking off 0.10's development, and there's been a major reason for this: My vertigo from 2021-22 has recurred, and at the same time as I'm suffering from an as yet undiagnosed stomach ailment. I'm scheduled for a doctor appointment on Monday, so we'll see how soon I can get better and get back to full speed. However, work (especially planning behind the scenes) on Idle Space Navy 0.10.0 has been proceeding, albeit at a much slower pace than I would like. I'm close to being able to get back to full speed, so I should cover some of what I'm working on. Brace for a wall of text. The Ship Rebalance One of the perennial issues with ISN's balancing has been the fact that ships don't balance well. More specifically, the Command Ship Mark I (CS I) is so overpowered related to other ships especially at high levels that…
- Idle Space Navy Devnote XXXV - 22 February 2024
So, it’s been a bit longer of a release cycle than I planned - a moderate illness followed by the loss of my sister derailed my energy - but now that I’ve recovered, I’m pleased to announce that the development of the 0.10 sequence has officially commenced! Here’s what all 0.10.0 will have in store when it’s released: Further UI refinements in Lab and Shipyard. People have said that they prefer the quick and easy way to purchase things with a single click. While I want to preserve the additional detail, I think I can introduce a compromise solution. I can make it so that the first click selects an upgrade and future clicks on the same upgrade will perform the purchase action (if you have the resources, of course). Additional details will also be added to refine the interface even more (such as the missing projectile speed info on weapons). Items System overhaul. Up until now, the Items…
- Idle Space Navy 0.09.5 - 31 January 2024
I'd made a bit of a hiccup fixing some stuff in 0.09.4 - here's a fix for that hiccup and a few others, as well as an engine upgrade! We've gone from Unity 2021.3 LTS (which is in its final months of support) to Unity 2022.3 LTS (which will be supported until at least 2025). Here's what all changed: Fixed a bug where inactive ships were leaving “ghosts” in weapons and modules. Fixed a bug in the Items lists where items would appear selected when they were not. Fixed a bug in the start-up routine caused by a prior UI bugfix. Saves loaded in 0.09.4 are still valid and do not need a new game made. Fixed a bug in Sun Crystal redemptions. Players' saves from prior versions are still good. 30 Sun Crystals were awarded to players of prior versions in order to compensate for the redemption errors and save-loading bugs in 0.09.4.
- Idle Space Navy 0.09.4 - 31 January 2024
We've made a few more bug fixes and performance/QoL improvements to ISN - here's what's new! SYSTEM UPDATES Modules are now limited to a maximum of 240 for performance reasons. Any modules over 240 have been destroyed and converted into Module Time, a resource which will be usable in 0.10.0. UI UPDATES Added a 1-second delay to item deployments and recalls in order to alleviate a “ghost items” bug. Added x50 as a buy option in the Shipyard upgrades menu to match with the Lab’s Shipyard cap upgrades. BUG FIXES Fixed a minor UI bug in the Map. Fixed a bug where Calibration did not require Player Level 50.
