• The Steam Spring Sale is here! - 14 March 2024

  It's here again, the Spring Sale! For those still on the fence grabbing the full game, or for those recommending the game to particularly economic friends, you can grab a big 50% off the full price of Dashbounce for the duration of the sale! For those who already own the game - I am so, so thankful for every single one of you! This has been a very big learning experience for myself, launching a game completely independently, and while the game's mostly gone unnoticed, the few of you who have are those who I am most deeply grateful for! I'd like to see people speedrunning the game or sharing their own user-created levels someday, and I'll keep doing my best to promote the game from time to time as a result!

• Fast Travel has been added! - 8 November 2023

  If you've ever thought "I'm so fast in levels, but on the world map I feel so sluggish... If only I could revisit old worlds more quickly!" then you're in luck! Once you've reached World 2 you'll be able to use your selected control scheme's camera controls to warp back and forth between worlds! On keyboard that's either Left/Right Arrow or A/D, and for Gamepad players that's your right stick! Hopefully this lets you save some real-life frames while enjoying the game! Thanks for the feedback!

• We're at Pumpkin Knoll, are you ready? - 30 October 2023

  'Tis the season for spooks and pumpkins, and we find ourselves, appropriately, in Pumpkin Knoll! A new decorated level featuring custom stage elements and a brand new background is available to play! In addition, the new elements used in this level can be used for your own custom levels; enjoy! Find it under the custom levels menu once your game has updated!

• Dash into some Achievements! - 24 October 2023

  For those not super interested in setting world record times but interested in some smaller challenges along the way, Steam Achievements have been added to Dashbounce! There are 20 to unlock! Some will be easy, some will be difficult! None of them are hidden, so check out the achievement descriptions for where to begin! If any of them are causing you trouble, or not unlocking when you think they should, please let me know and we'll take a look into it!

• Steamdeck user? Having trouble? - 11 October 2023

  Are you a Steamdeck user running SteamOS or Linux? You'll probably notice some issues when running the game using SteamOS's default emulation layer, Proton. Things such as levels failing to load, the game not saving your progress, music missing, and the level editor just basically not working are pretty common under Proton, as it doesn't emulate the external file calls that the game uses to load content, only the game's base executable. As the Steamdeck is not available in many places, including where the game has been developed, it's not currently possible for this to be resolved unless Valve changes the way Proton works. However, you will still be able to play the game by running it under Windows - even a virtual machine should be sufficient if you want to avoid a Windows OS install!   Dashbounce has been approved for a leaderboard on Speedrun.com! Check it out, here! There's a category for both the full game and for the demo; they both have their own individual adventure modes to play so both runs are valid! If you think you're quick, get out there and show the world!

• The Goldenguard Appears! - 16 September 2023

  Made a run ending blunder? Stuck between a spike and a spike place? The Goldenguard is here! If you take damage rapidly in a short span of time, you'll get a grace period to get yourself out of trouble before you'll take damage again! Maybe that could even be used to sneak past obstacles...? Download the latest update and give it a go! Also added is an additional custom level from the SAGE 2023 demo - SAGE QUIT!

• Dashbounce is now available! - 15 September 2023

  Dashbounce is now available for purchase! If you're interested in a unique little speed game then check it out! Just to throw down the gauntlet, I've set a record for aspiring speedrunners to overcome: 53 minutes, 34 seconds and 45 frames! It isn't the cleanest run, but it should give those of you interested in record-chasing something to aim for! I know a little game like this in such a crowded space as Steam doesn't have much hope of getting noticed, but I hope that some of you out there who do discover it get to have a little fun; for the speedrunners out there in particular I hope you enjoy all the jank and speed tech! If you're curious but not too sure, check out the little standalone demo before purchasing!

• SAGE 2023 Demo Available! - 2 September 2023

  Wow! We're live! Dashbounce will likely be releasing on Steam in the next few weeks, but if you're interested in trying the game out prior to that, check out the demo created for SAGE 2023! It contains 15 levels with 45 challenges, alongside a dedicated speedrunning mode for the standalone adventure mode made for this demo! https://sonicfangameshq.com/forums/showcase/dashbounce-sage-2023-demo.1853/ Apparently some antivirus programs are falsely flagging the game, so please report if you have any issues (and what issues they are) so we can chase down what's causing it or raise it with the antivirus providers.
