    Hello everyone! First off, huge thanks to all of you who’ve jumped into the Trainfort alpha and shared your feedback so far: it really means the world to the all team. Based on your enthusiasm, we decided to keep the playtest open for now! With that decision comes also a new update with a batch of improvements and fixes, including: Battery packs now have an indicator Machines now have 2 buttons for packing Steam generator fuel consumption fixed Various power grid fixes Minor tweaks to machines Character now bound to Steam ID instead of nickname Teleport to spawn if you get stuck Resource container can now be packed Journal no longer spams new entry notifications Cartridge decoder now alerts if data was already extracted But that’s not all… Based on feedback, we implemented one experimental change we’d love your thoughts on.   • Playtest Hotfix #1 is live! - 29 May 2025

    - Fixed a bug that did not allow to craft the locomotive - Fixed the screen on the Data Cards. Now it correctly shows the blueprint inside - Holding items in place on the base foundation is now more stable - Improved map marker system.     Hello everyone! Welcome to the second devlog about Trainfort! In this series, we’re sharing different parts of the game’s design, from systems to worldbuilding to the little details behind the scenes. Today we’ll talk about the biomes, what makes them special, and why the world is built to keep you moving. The Biomes of Trainfort Right now, there are two main zones in the world of Trainfort. The first is the “regular” zone, which includes forests, fields, deserts, and mountains. These are relatively safe (at least during the day) and give each area a different feel as you travel. The second is the “infested” zone: same biomes, but much more hostile. Toxic air, dangerous creatures, and a time limit on how long you can survive without protection. The game uses "areas" as modifiers for biomes. So a forest might be part of the regular zone or the infested one, depending on where you are. In…

    Hello everyone! Welcome to the first devlog about Trainfort! In this series we will cover many aspects of the game, like the controls, storing methods, levels and dungeons. Today we are going to tell you more about the Packing system in game. One of the core mechanics in the game is the ability to pack up your base, vehicles, and equipment, turning them into compact, portable items that can be carried around. This system was designed to let players operate a mobile base, allowing players to embrace a truly nomadic lifestyle. How It Works Our goal was to make packing feel like holding a detailed miniature version of your gear. Most of the large craftable objects can be packed. Vehicles, base foundations, workbenches.
