There are many changes under the hood which will make it much easier for me to implement new features to the player, as well as reimplementing existing ones in a cleaner way!Let me know what you think, and as always, stay tuned!
- Kenophobia Remake Status Update - 12 March 2026
Hey guys!I hope you are all doing well! I'm writing this announcement to inform you about the current state of the game's remake (but this tme, the news aren't all that bad!)I have been working on the game's core systems, and I am overall happy with how it's going. While most of the systems are done under the hood and thus you won't really be able to tell what's going on, I do finally have some things I can show you, like a completely reworked, physics-based player controller. While it isn't much given the development time, I figured it would be nice to at least let you know that the game is actively being worked on! I will make sure to showcase as much as I can on YouTube in the near future! Now, the main reason why I'm posting this announcement is because I have a slight debate. Originally, the game was supposed to ship with a lot of additional content. mainly a larger amount of levels…
- Kenophobia Legacy Update Information - 3 January 2026
Hey guys, I need to address something important and serious. After I announced a planned update for Kenophobia Legacy, which was meant to address the security vulnerability, things unfortunately started to fall apart internally, as you already know, such as with Level 0's corruption, which I tried to recover in several ways, including more technical approaches. None of them worked. While trying to stabilize the project, I also discovered that another level is affected. At that point it became clear that the internal project state closest to the released version is no longer reliable. Fixing this properly would require rebuilding or heavily modernizing parts of Kenophobia Legacy. This is where I had to stop and be honest with myself and with you: continuing down that path would mean turning Kenophobia Legacy into something it was never meant to be. What was supposed to be a simple and neces…
- Kenophobia Legacy Update Status - 28 December 2025
Hey guys, I want to be transparent about the current state of the planned update. What was originally meant to be a small maintenance update (primarily addressing the Unity security vulnerability that I mentioned in the previous announcement) unfortunately turned into a much more complex task. During the process, one of the levels, that being Level 0, became corrupted. With Level 0 being the very first level in the game, the corruption forced me to rebuild it. This also lead me to tackle parts of the project that were never intended to be revisited in this update, including improving settings and game mechanics. This is technically good, because Kenophobia Legacy would become slightly better, however it also meant that I'd need to work on way more than I intended to wth the update. As a result, progress has been much slower than expected, and the scope of the work has been heavier than I…
- Kenophobia Legacy: upcoming update - 7 October 2025
Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted an announcement, but I have some news. Recently, Unity has reported a security vulnerability in some of the Unity Editor versions (you can read about it here if you're interested), including the editor used by Kenophobia Legacy, as well as the remake. Due to this, Kenophobia Legacy will soon be updated to a new version of Unity in order to resolve the vulnerability. However, I think I will also include small content additions to the game too (and yes, I am still very much working on the remake, don't worry, I didn't forget!) while I'm at it. It shouldn't take too long to release the update!Have a nice day and as always, stay tuned!
- Anniversary post - 2 May 2025
Hey guys! Today is the game's first anniversary! The game sure has come a long way since release, especially with the ongoing remake! Now, I have a question for everyone: Unity 6 (which is a seemingly new version of the game engine that Kenophobia runs on) has brought some neat features to HDRP, while the legacy version uses an older version of the engine. Now, I did say that the remake will utilize URP, however I thought about releasing an update for the legacy version of Kenophobia, which would include some small graphical enhancements (such as improved lens flare effects and slight improvements to the water system), while still of course working on the remake. I don't anticipate complications during the supposed update. What do you guys think? Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments, or on the Discord server! Stay tuned!
- Remake notice update - 25 March 2025
Hey guys! Today's update is a very small one. The only change is the addition of a button in the main menu that displays a notice about the upcoming remake, just in case anyone missed the announcement. Other than that, nothing new—but stay tuned!

Hey everyone! I've decided to post the first video showcasing what's coming to the Kenophobia Remake, that being a completely new camcorder look. I wanted to show the progress not only so that you can see what's being worked on, but also in order to receive feedback! Hope you'll enjoy! Stay tuned!
- A post regarding Kenophobia's future - 11 March 2025
Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well! First of all, it's been a while since I've posted any anouncements. Sorry about that! Anyways, I have something significant to say about the game's future. To begin with, no, I'm not abandoning the game! Don't worry! Now, I've taken a bit of time to think about the game's current state (like performance and level design, with only a few to mention), and I have come to the conclusion that I will be rebuilding the game from scratch. The original version (or, as of me posting this announcement, Kenophobia Legacy) was built using Unity, with the use of the HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline). What that means is the game had much better graphical capabilities out of the box. However, this also meant that performance would be limited, and with every update, the performance would worsen. Another thing that I wasn't particularly proud of was the g…

- Update information - 13 November 2024
Hey guys! I would like to inform you that the upcoming update will likely be postponed to a later time. The reason for this is simply because the update will be huge, so I need some more time to work on it. I am still not exactly sure how long it will take to get it done, so I don't really wanna make any promises. Although I think it would be nice to at least let you all know what's coming, so here are some things that the update will include as of me posting this announcement: more levels expansion to some of the existing levels changes in some of the mechanics bug fixes ...and quite a bit more!
