• Out of the Pulsar and into Warbound - 16 April 2025

  It's been a while since I last gave an update on what I've been doing and it's been a busy few months indeed! Pulsar is now everything I had wanted, it originally started as a personal project and being a more old fashoned player I prefer to keep media on my own PC which means I rarely use services like Spotify and others. I made what became Pulsar as a 7 day challenge and it exploded in scope from there during development in the months following into the game it is today. Snowpult which followed was a similar situation, I wanted to learn all of the processes and skills needed as a solo developer to publish a game, improve on it based on player feedback and everything else in between. Pulsar and Snowpult suffered from one problem, they were limited by how they were started and that's where Warbound comes in. • Announcing Warbound - 2 March 2025

  Hey there! It's been a hot minute hasn't it? I'm excited to announce my next upcoming game Warbound, a side scrolling RTS inspired by classics such as Age of War and many others. Warbound will take players through various eras from sending hordes of Stone age warriors with slingshots and clubs to Skeleton wars and the far flung future where machines have taken over. You have one goal; conquer the opposition at all cost! Defend yourself with deadly turrets, modernize your base through the ages and devastate the battlefield with barrages of lasers and meteror strikes. I recently reached vertical slice for the game in the past couple of weeks and I'm working towards getting Warbound ready for a demo build in the near future. See you soon on the battlefield!

• Rhythm Fest blasts off - 19 August 2024

  Hey there! It's been a while hasn't it? Rhythm fest blasts off today and Pulsar is joining with a massive 60% discount! Since launch Pulsar has seen some massive changes and improvements thanks to the feedback from players and testing rings not least including the addition of a ingame playlist with some included music. Recently I launched the demo of Pulsar to give players a taste of the full experience and looking at the stats, it's been pretty popular! • Step into the beat: - 23 May 2024

  Hey there! Pulsar recently had a major Quality of Life update and now includes a selection of tracks included along side the file browser menu. I have also launched the demo build which includes the example tracks and gives players a chance to test the game. Over the past few months I have been checking player feedback, addressing issues as I encounter them and continue working on updating the UI with a new layout that is due to be shown in the weeks ahead along with looking at adding additional tracks to the included playlist. This latest update overhauls the audio analysis system and also fixes some issues found involving incorrect weapon selection for one of the game modes and improves hit registration. • Menu update and included music - 17 May 2024

  Hey there! It's been a minute hasn't it? This latest update enables the new tab in the file browser section where a list of included music has been added. This list of music will be added to in the months ahead as licencing is cleared and will also be making its way into the demo build which should be publishing in the weeks ahead for players to test out. • Update: Menus and stability - 9 April 2024

  Hey there! It's been a short while since Pulsar Launched and in that time I have been busy taking in feedback from players, testing new features and fixing outstanding issues. With the latest update the file browser recently saw a major change where tracks listed are now much more visible taking a list rather than tile view. This will be propagating to other menus also such as previous track list and is part of a larger push towards reforming the menus and other UI elements. Hit registration took a major update and a major cause of hit issues was identified and addressed. Feedback from testing seems to confirm that this has addressed a major issue that was had with hit registration but as always I will be monitoring the community response through the steam discussion channel as well as the community discord server.

• Patch notes - 26th Jan 23 - 26 January 2024

  Hey there! It's Launch week and a few key issues were identified Following additional feedback from testers and players a couple of issues have been identified and addressed: - Last remnants of old signage have been replaced with correct naming, - Unlimited mode is now available for all difficulty settings rather than a difficulty setting of its own. - Improved Hit registration that should resolve issues of shots appearing to be missed. - Updated menu location for easier access. Hit registration will remain under scrutiny to ensure the core issue has been resolved. If players encounter any issues, please let me know either in the community group on Steam or join the community discord server where players can contact me directly. • Feature update: Latest additions and plans ahead before release - 14 January 2024

  Hey there! Welcome to the first feature update for what is now called Pulsar. Many of you will have initially known the game as GunjamVR which at the time was picked as riff on jamming out to music with guns but since then I had learned that there was another VR game with a similar name so in the best interests of all Pulsar is the new name going forward. Development wise Pulsar has seen a lot of excited updates in the past few weeks, not least the addition of localizations for Simplified Chinese, German, Spanish and Korean. I intend to add more as time goes on to allow for maximum accessibility. Recently Pulsar has seen the addition of a new game mode called Hexageddon: This game mode is inspired by some of my memories of arcade lightgun cabinets modernized with the use of Pulsars Audio Analysis.
