• Update Notes for August 12, 2026 - 12 August 2026

  Players had a great time playing multiplayer Crypt Crawler at Supernova in Baltimore! We added some small improvements in this update. Spiked walls now do more damage. Player-deconstructed towers no longer count toward Towers Lost in level stats. Made some level tweaks in the Outer Ward and Chamber Halls for improved gameplay. Improved message positioning in multiplayer mode.

  Lightning tower damage increased 150%. Toned down frozen arrow sound. Added popup tip for Sprint in level 2. Fixed enemy group not waking up in upper left of level 11.

  Lots of small quality of enjoyment improvements and small bug fixes! Tweaks to reward placement and enemy activation in some of the Crypt levels. When you discover a new blueprint, the pop-up window now shows the required resource amounts. Zombie Murderer health bars are now visible. Fixed an issue where two players could click the Descend button at the same time, causing a slower level load.

  Updated to plug a vulnerability in the Unity game engine (CVE-2025-59489). Arrow towers show a more prominent RELOAD reminder until you've reloaded your first arrow tower. Improved mouse controls! Left click moves, right click attacks and reloads/rotates projectile towers, middle button opens the tower build menu.

  Crypt Crawler is in the Zombies vs Vampires Fest starting today at 10 AM PT through June 2! You can play the demo -- the first five full levels of the game as well as random dungeon generation mode -- in your quest to close the portal to the underworld before the undead take over the realm. Play with up to 4 friends in local co-op! This updated demo has: Larger UI for a better experience on Steam Deck Enemy toughness scaling according to the number of players And miscellaneous optimizations bug fixes

• Steam Next Fest is Live! - 14 October 2024

  Today's the big day! Enjoy the first five levels of Crypt Crawler in the Next Fest demo, and wishlist the game to be notified when you can play the full release. You can play solo or with up to 4 players. The full release will have 16 levels and an infinitely playable procedural generation mode. Crypt Crawler plays best with gamepad(s), but you can play with mouse and keyboard if you prefer. If you're not seeing the right gamepad icons, turn off Steam Input for the game. Have fun!

  Added some fixes and quality of life tweaks: Slowed down sprinting to a more reasonable speed. Elevator now shows "Everyone must be on" when waiting for everyone to get on. Fixed: Distance tethering now ignores dead players. Tuned placement of first lever in The Outer Ward. The demo will be available until August 11, 2024. The next demo will be Steam Next Fest!

  Demo v20240801.1 is now available! Players can now sprint for short durations. Better targeting and indication of which structure will be deconstructed when deconstructing. Reminder indicators over arrow towers prior to first time reloading an arrow tower.
