- Feature Highlight: Air Jump - 7 July 2026
Hi everyone,For this feature highlight, we want to talk about the Air Jump in Venus: The Last Ascent. The Air Jump is powered by small boosters built into the backpack. It gives the player an upward push, with a light anti-gravity feel that helps with mid-air movement and quick maneuvers. As your HUB Machine grows, better mobility becomes more important. You need to reach modules, repair damage, climb higher structures, and move quickly around the machine when things go wrong. The Air Jump also helps when exploring the surface of Venus. Some resources and rare minerals can be hidden in higher or harder-to-reach areas of the landscape. With better suit mobility, exploration becomes faster, more flexible, and more rewarding. It can also make a difference during combat. When hostile machines attack, staying mobile helps you reposition, avoid danger, reach damaged parts of the HUB, and keep fig…

Hi everyone,Steam Next Fest has now wrapped up, and we wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Thanks to your support during the event, Venus: The Last Ascent has now passed 17,000 wishlists on Steam. For our team at Breaking Walls, this is a huge milestone. Over the past week, we saw players discover the demo, build their first HUB Machines, share feedback, report bugs, post videos, and help spread the word about the game.Venus: The Last Ascent is still early in development, and this demo was an important step for us. Seeing how players mine, build, repair, defend their reactors, and move toward Cloud City has already helped us understand what is working, what needs improvement, and where we should focus next. We’re continuing to read feedback, bug reports, and suggestions from the community. We’ve already started making improvements to the demo, and we’ll keep sharing updates as develo…

- Feature Highlight: Every Module Matters - 9 June 2026
Hi everyone,For this feature highlight, we want to talk about one of the core ideas behind Venus: The Last Ascent:Every module on your HUB Machine has a purpose.Your rolling fortress is not just a vehicle, and it is not just a base. It is your shelter, workshop, power grid, oxygen supply, mining platform, storage system, weapon platform, and only way forward across Venus. The HUB Machine is built around systems that depend on each other. Power keeps your tools, refineries, weapons, and production modules running. Mining and refining give you the resources needed to expand. Oxygen keeps you alive, but it can also feed the tools and defenses you need to protect the machine. That creates the core loop: build systems to keep the HUB alive, then protect the HUB so it can keep producing the power, oxygen, and resources you need to survive.Building bigger is exciting, but every choice matters. M…
- We’re Working on a Multi-Layer Construction System - 4 June 2026
Hi everyone,We wanted to share a quick look at something we’re currently working on for Venus: The Last Ascent: a multi-layer construction system. The goal is to give players more freedom when building their HUB Machine. Instead of being limited to a flatter structure, we want players to create taller, more flexible, and more personal rolling fortresses. This opens the door to machines with multiple levels, larger layouts, better module organization, and more creative designs. Turbines, propellers, turrets, storage, power systems, oxygen modules, and other parts can become more interesting when players have more space and more freedom to build.Because Venus is physics-based, this also creates new challenges. Building bigger is powerful, but weight, balance, stability, and movement still matter. A massive fortress needs to survive the terrain, not just look impressive. We’re still testing a…
- Our new demo is live and we need your feedback - 29 May 2026
Hi everyone,We just released the demo for Venus: The Last Ascent. This version introduces the new direction of the game: a physics-based survival experience built around one massive rolling fortress. Instead of building a base and staying in one place, your base moves with you. It is your shelter, your vehicle, your workshop, your power system, and your only way to cross Venus. In the demo, you’ll mine resources, build new modules, improve your machine, and start the journey toward Cloud City. We’re still actively developing the game, so your feedback is extremely valuable. If you try the demo, please let us know what you think in the Steam discussions. We’re especially looking for feedback on:Building and upgrading the fortressDriving and physicsMining and resource flowCombat and reactor defenseTutorial clarityOverall pacingThank you for playing and helping us shape the future of the game.
