- Epic Battle Fantasy Video Series - 13 April 2025
Hey guys - I'm still working on my new game Matt's Hidden Cats, and hope to finish it some time this year. I've also been working on YouTube videos to promote the game and expand the lore of the Epic Battle Fantasy characters. The EBF characters all feature in Matt's Hidden Cats, and I'm writing a new story that should appeal both to new players and existing fans of EBF. It's worth following me on YouTube - I usually don't post often unless I have some game related stuff to share. I'm sorry that my YouTube stuff is only in English - but the game will be in at least the 12 languages that EBF5 supports, and maybe more.
- Chinese Language Added! 中文版更新！ - 3 October 2024
Hey guys, EBF3 and EBF Collection have recently received Chinese fan-translations. The same group has now translated Epic Battle Fantasy 4 into Chinese! This version of the game is available as an option in the "Betas" menu, in the Steam client. I'm not personally involved in this translation project, but there are a LOT of Chinese users on Steam, so I'm happy to support it. Simplified Chinese is currently the most important language to include in games (after English), and if you are a game developer, I suggest that you consider it! My future games - including Matt's Hidden Cats - will include all 12 languages that Epic Battle Fantasy 5 has, and possibly a few more. Just a very minor update to fix a few things I've found over the last few weeks. Hey guys, I've just published version 3 of Epic Battle Fantasy 4! You can update the game by selecting it in the "betas" tab of the Steam client. Since I'm currently working on a mobile port (66% done), all of the new features and optimizations from that are being added in this Steam update. This version will go live as the default version in a week or two if no major issues come up. Version 1 and 2 will remain accessible in the betas tab, but I cannot guarantee that your save files will work if you go from a newer version to an older version. - EBF Collection Launches May 30th! - 16 May 2022
Hey guys, the Epic Battle Fantasy Collection will launch at the end of this month - on Monday, May 30th! Please wishlist the game to get a notification, and boost it in the Steam algorithm! The EBF Collection will cost $8 and include EBF1, EBF2, Bullet Heaven, Adventure Story, Brawl Royale, Mecha Dress Up, The Kitten Game, Cat Cafe, and a bunch of prototype games and artwork, and 150 Steam achievements! All of the games have been updated with quality-of-life features, such as volume controls, new difficulty options, and other cool stuff. Adventure Story has a bunch of new levels, Bullet Heaven has new playable characters, and Epic Battle Fantasy 2 has new unlockable upgrades! On top of all that, the 65-track soundtrack is included as a free DLC download!

Hey guys, the Steam store page for the Epic Battle Fantasy Collection is up – you should wishlist the game so you’ll be notified when it launches! I still need to make a trailer, fix some minor bugs, and set up the soundtrack DLC (which will be free). There’s not very much work left to do, but it’s very boring stuff, so I’m taking my time with it. - Epic Battle Fantasy 4 version 2 update! - 14 January 2021
Hey guys, version 2 of Epic Battle Fantasy 4 is live, currently as an opt-in Beta. You have to go to the game properties in the Steam client, select Betas, and select version 2. This will download some new files, and the game should say version 2.0.1 when you launch it. This update is long overdue, and many complaints that I've received over the years have been addressed here. The game is now powered by Adobe AIR (like EBF3 and EBF5), so on top of all of the improvements listed below, it should also have less compatibility problems. Unfortunately, your old saves will not work at first - you'll need to manually move them to a new folder (the load screen has instructions on how to do this). Alternatively, you'll always have the option to keep playing the old version of the game until you are ready to update. Hey guys, I updated EBF4 with some fixes to a few issues: • Error Logging has been added (ErrorLog file in installation folder records errors) • Fixed game crashing if the user has no audio devices (hopefully) • Fixed game crashing if Meow files have been damaged (should use Flash cookies instead, hopefully) • Fixed Sand Dune's status effect at max level • Some credits, links, and other bits of text updated I tried again to add the Steam Overlay. I got it working but it had all sorts of weird side-effects, so I think I'll keep it disabled. Sorry about that.
