🎉Hand of Fate: Hordes will launch into Early Access via Steam on July 22nd. Players eager to try the game before launch will also be able to experience a demo during Steam Bullet Fest, beginning on June 8th at 10:00 PDT / 19:00 CEST. We’ve just released a demo of the project the team at Spitfire Interactive are working on (a collection of Defiant alumni who’ve been working on their own since Defiant ceased developing) - a new approach to combining deckbuilding with action that we’re excited for you to get your hands on! Hordes of Fate drops you once more into a world of memory, mythology, and mayhem. Bullet Heaven / Autoshooter gameplay combines with the ability to stack your deck, choose your encounters, and control your destiny. Ten years ago the Thirteenth Gate opened for the first time and the Game of Life and Death began. Ten years of Hand of Fate. What an adventure it’s been, and what a decade has passed. Thank you all for being a part of the journey since then. When Hand of Fate launched we had no idea that it would help to establish roguelike deckbuilding as a genre, launch a board game, lead to a sequel, and inspire titles and developers that followed. Until we’d finished building it we didn’t really know what it was, or if anyone would care. It’s impossible to think about the release of Hand of Fate without thinking about the circumstances that prevailed a decade ago. It was a time of post financial crisis chaos in the games industry, but also a time of opportunity and potential. None of us who made games in that time realised we were in a golden age, yet looking back it’s impossible to see it elsewise.…

You might not have seen the news, but the sequel to Hand of Fate, and the game we've been working hard on for the last 2 years is almost done! In less than three weeks, you'll be able to play HoF2 for youself. If you want to keep up to date with what we're up to, the best bet is to go over to http://store.steampowered.com/app/456670/Hand_of_Fate_2/ and wishlist HoF2. I mean, you should do that anyways, because it's going to be awesome. Over the next three weeks, you'll see a lot more information dropping about HoF2 - reviews, streams, etc. More than anything though, we're excited to show you what we've built. There's a tonne in there (the game is much bigger than HoF1) and there's a tonne of new stuff - companions that play alongside you, customisation, deckbuilding challenges, and a tonne more depth. Looking forward to joining you on the Dealer's quest for revenge!

If you haven't heard of Indiebox, they do small run, collectors edition boxed sets of indie games, filled with cool collectables. We've worked closely with them to put together a Hand of Fate edition we're super excited about. If you want to get your hands on it, you have until the middle of the month to subscribe. You can see some great unboxings of previous editions that will give you a good idea of how an Indiebox looks.
