- Behind The Scenes | The Sound of Trailblazers Into The March - 16 September 2026
Hello everyone. My name is Zachery, but some of you may know me better as Noobert! I am the new community manager here at Strangers Studios! Over the past few months, I have had the great honor of getting to know the team behind Trailblazers Into The March. The whole experience has been very rewarding. So much goes into making a game like Trailblazers Into The March, and today I wanted to pull back the curtain and give you all a glimpse into it. Below is a video I strung together to showcase the work of our very own composer, Vincent Borcard. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did! Until next time!
- Of landship tactics, Kickstarter and other best-laid plans - 11 July 2026
Hey there Strangers from the internet, I hope life treats you well! It’s your guy, Arn, realizing that Tacticon has begun and we haven't had the time to thank our hosts for putting that event together nor communicate about it. Oh treacherous days running away like wild horses over the hills. Oh unending tides of work and tasks and duties and things to do.I will be taking that time now, try to keep it short and address three things : Tacticon, Kickstarter and Playtests.Of TacticonFirst things first, many thanks to Hooded Horse and FireSquid for selecting our game in the event! It's a dream come true for me, as the games appearing here compose a significant chunk of my experience as a player. I've sunk countless hours on some of those titles and existing in the same space as them feels like an immense privilege and an honor. I think steam forbids giving shout outs outside of the context of…
- The bloom is shaping your run - 7 July 2026
Hello,It’s Vincent, co-founder of the studio working on Trailblazers: Into the March. In this post, I’d like to talk about the Bloom. In the March, Bloom is everywhere (unfortunately for you). It attacks your Landship, triggers Perturbations, hinders your progress, and puts constant pressure on your run. Learning how to deal with it, avoid it, or fight it directly is essential if you want your expeditions into the March to survive. The Trailblazers describe Bloom as the March’s hunger to exist and expand. It is a projection of it’s vital instincts, a corruption altering any carbon-based life it touches. Depending on the host, it can behave like a symbiote, a parasite, or both.Bloom is also a global pressure system. It measures how much the March has noticed your expedition. The Bloom Gauge and the Bloom Awareness window help you understand its current impact on your journey. Every action…
- How I learned to stop worrying and love the mountain - 9 May 2026
Hey there Strangers from the internet, I hope life treats you well. It’s your guy, Arn, game director on Trailblazers : Into the March, back with a new log series for the most curious amongst you.I'm going to be honest, I'm not exactly sure what this series is going to cover. For now, I'm picturing it as an open platform to talk about the project and the intricacies of building a game like ours. But who knows where that will lead us.So if you've ever wondered how people who've never met could transform a whiteboard sticky note into a game ; if you want to learn and ask anything about the project, how it's crafted, or who the humans behind it are ; if you're interested in the challenges, the happy accidents, the highs and lows of a journey like this - you're in the right place. So let me start by answering this question… Where we’re at right now? Back in the beginning of April, we reached…
- The spirit - Devlog #07 - 25 February 2026
Hello, my name is Alexander Grenus, and I’m a Game Designer on the team. Today, I'm going to talk about the Spirit and the process of its creation, what inspired it, and how the system currently interacts with other game mechanics already in place.Alex's portrait.Who am I ?I currently live in Austria and have been working in game design for quite some time. My first project dates back to 2000, with my first official release in 2007 with Steel Walker!Later, I joined stillalive studios, where I worked for about ten years. During that time, I contributed to around ten games before eventually joining Trailblazers: Into the march. My passion for game development started very early thanks to my older brother. I used to watch him play on PC, and one day he brought home Command & Conquer and THAT was the moment I knew I wanted to become a game designer.Since 2017 I also work as a lecturer in gam…
- A New Artist in the Team – Devlog #06 - 9 December 2025
To welcome him to the team, Vincent caught up with concept artist Michael Fiore for a conversation about his path into art, the projects that shaped him, and what excites him most about building the world of Trailblazers: Into the March.Michael D. Fiore - Elven MigrationHey Michael, for people meeting you for the first time—what do you do as an artist, and what pulled you into concept art/illustration?Hi, thanks for asking, as for what I primarily do as an artist now a days is deliver and communicate ideas usually through concept. Whether its in 2D or 3D, the consistency with my job has been helping visually convey the ideas of people who might struggle with that. As for what pulled me to concept/illustration, I was lead into taking art more seriously because of my TTRPG home game where I was the game master. I ended up wanting to draw items, maps, creatures, and characters for my playe…
- Musical Incantations - Devlog #05 - 29 September 2025
You might remember me from the first devlog as one of the co-founders of Strangers. But today, I want to introduce you to another side of me: Vincent the composer and musician. For Trailblazers: Into the March, I handle both the business side (a fancy way of saying I mostly deal with accounting and contracts) and the music composition. Since the start of the project, I’ve had very little time to focus on music—but that’s finally changing. So let’s talk about it.How it all began (with a piano)Let me take you through my journey of how I discovered composition and made it an essential part of who I am. It didn't really start as a passion to be honest. More like a chore. I started learning piano at the age of 7. I didn’t really have a choice—it was that or suffer humiliation on a football field. I wasn’t a great student. I didn’t practice, I didn’t enjoy lessons… until one day, a teacher in…
- Narrative Designer on Trailblazers - Devlog #04 - 16 September 2025
Hey Trailblazers, it’s yer boi, yer gal, yer narrative designer Jen.I come from the land of comics but have been entranced by video games from the first time saw the manhole cover explode in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Video games were prohibitively expensive for a divorced family and I rarely asked for new games, the Game Boy was revolutionary because it could travel with me. My sixth birthday was in a New York arcade, back when arcades existed. Kids had two hours to play all the games they wanted, except the claw machine, pizza and cake, and then the birthday kid got to play the claw machine until they won something. I would host the same party today for my friends.Jen as the villain in an annual dinner theater production at the University of Texas at Austin called Madrigal Dinner. Now there are games at the library or mediatheques, which I know a younger version of me would have lov…
- Portrait Procedural Generation - Devlog #03 - 10 September 2025
Hello, I’m Adrien Cantone, Art Director for Trailblazers: Into the March, and this is my first devlog for the game! Today, I’m going to talk about how we created the assets used to generate the thousands of crew members you’ll be taking care of in the game! Before that, a few words about myself for those who might be interested.Who am I?I’m a French artist in my twenties who studied illustration and comic books. I quickly realized that comics weren’t my dream job and that I preferred video games and animation. Back then, there weren’t many schools in France for this, so I taught myself using online resources from artists such as Alexandre Diboine, Marco Bucci, Gop Gap, Tim McBurnie, and many more!So if this is a career you want to pursue, there’s no need to pay for expensive schooling—you can find everything you need online! My first jobs were with animation studios such as Amopix and S…

- Welcome to the March - Devlog #02 - 17 July 2025
Hey there, Strangers from the Internet! I hope you’re doing all right!I’m Arn, game director on Trailblazers: Into the March and this my first devlog.Have you ever wondered what the world might look like a thousand years after humanity nearly wiped itself out in an orgiastic cataclysm? Fantasized about what kind of explorer you would’ve been when the world was still wild and wide? Spent sleepless nights thinking, “Isn’t it Into the Marsh? Did they make a typo in their title? Should I be worried for them?”Well fret not, benevolent reader, as I’m here to answer some of those questions. As the title says…Welcome to the MarchFirstly, let’s clear the air: It’s March, not Marsh. Unbeknownst to some people with a richer social life than me, a March describes a borderland territory and was used during Medieval European times to qualify all kind of contested land, untamed regions or buffer zones…
- We have successfully completed our first-ever external playtest! - 24 April 2025
Hello, Trailblazers! For the past month and a half we've been hard at work cooking our very first playtest ever! We wanted to share the process with us, and of course, talk about the future! So grab a cozy drink, sit down, and let's get to the issue! Setting the bases for the first public playtest Developing a game takes a lot of iteration, a lot of coming and going, and a lot of rethinking things. Weaving player opinion into this process is a surefire way to elevate the game to greater heights! At Strangers, we were certain we want to involve the players in the development process, and have been doing so since the early times of Trailblazers: Into the March, but it was time to take a way more direct approach by letting people actually play a bit of our game for the first time! To that end, we devised a first external playtest focused on the combat in the game. We prepared a build that…

- Devlog #001 - We are Strangers - 10 September 2024
You might know us, you might not. Some of you frequently ask about updates on Trailblazers : Into the March. Where does this game come from? What kind of crazy people launched a new video game? My name is Vincent, co-leader of this madness! And I'm here to tell you about us. Game On. Turning a Reddit Post into a Company Trailblazers is born from a new team and company. It all started from a Reddit Post I wrote in 2023 asking to find crazy peers to do a game. The post didn't mention any specific game idea or genre; it was more focused on the idea of creating a company and choosing a project together. In retrospect, it was probably a good idea. It allowed us to find a better idea than I would have found on my own, and it immediately ignited passions within the team. What are we going to do? We decided to pitch ideas internally. About thirty projects were proposed, and the debate was heate…
