- How should the start of the game be changed? - 15 September 2026
I get the feeling I could be doing a much better job hooking players early on, so I wanted to gather feedback on the matter! What do you think could be changed about the early parts of the game? (Basically, from the very start to the Data Center)Is Eden too chatty? Is there too little combat early on?Does it take too long to get to the real meat and potatoes? When does it start to drag on, if at all?If you played the demo and stopped during this part of the game, why? Be honest!Any other questions or arguments worth adding on?Those are the types of questions I'm trying to get answered before I decide whether either a total overhaul is needed, or if just some minor changes will do to improve the pacing.Share your thoughts!OR ELSE O_O
- Demo Patch 1.2.1 Released: Steam Deck Fix! - 6 September 2026
The game got all bugged on Steam Deck. This patch should fix that.Steam Deck is now locked to fullscreen mode. (In the last version of the game, a flashing black screen kept appearing in windowed mode, but wouldn't happen in fullscreen. So it's now locked in fullscreen on Steam Deck. Not sure if there's any benefit to windowed mode on there anyway)Burning trees now properly show the big fire sprite again instead of the dinky little tiny one.
- Demo Patch 1.2 Released: Significant performance improvements! - 27 August 2026
Content-wise? Nothing. Performance-wise? Slower computers might actually have a chance now. There is good and bad when it comes to working on a more powerful computer. The good is that running and compiling the game is WAY faster and more convenient. The bad is that performance issues become WAY harder to spot. I can run lots of shaders and lots of surfaces, and the difference in performance is virtually nothing. In other words, time to stop being such a terrible programmer and lock in.How is the beginning of the game? Before we get to the optimization patch notes, I've been contemplating changing how the very start of the game plays out. What would you say are the biggest pain points? The pyramid? The Data Center? Is Eden too chatty? Speak now or forever hold your piece! Many, many optimization changes!Performance improvements across the board! Far too many things to list, to be honest.A f…
- Demo Patch 1.1.3 Released: Making the game work(?) - 19 July 2026
No gameplay changes this time, just bug fixes! (though I did get some particularly nasty ones!)Fixed a memory leak with the pause menu.Fixed a rare crash caused by the culling system.Fixed more objects placed at incorrect Z-values. (Again, probably won't be the last time you see this!)Fixed the modifier outline on the Spade Pendant.Probably wouldn't have even done an update on these things alone, had it not been for, well... a crash and a memory leak.Still trying to find a solution for inventory screen slowdown at high resolutions! After trying to find a solution all day, turns out it won't be as simple as I thought. So that might not be part of a quick hotfix.
- Demo Patch 1.1.2 Released: Performance Improvements for the Inventory Screen! - 18 July 2026
Had performance issues with the inventory screen? Hopefully this update will smooth things over!Improved performance on the inventory screen. (The map screen might still need work, though.)Finished the dialogue fixes from last update. (Forgot a few things!)
- Demo Patch 1.1.1 Released: Bug fixes (Mostly) + fixing my terrible grammar! - 17 July 2026
Got a quick and simple update today!Bosses are now slightly more susceptible to elemental debuffs.Fixed several grammatical errors in dialogue, the Dash Boots not displaying its modifier description, and corrected some inaccurate instructions. (They didn't USED to be inaccurate...)Fixed some trees that were placed at incorrect Z-levels. (More to come? These can be hard to find sometimes...)It is no longer possible to get trapped behind the tower in Inquisitor's Watch. The rift boss no longer stops moving when not on solid ground.Alright, what did I miss?
- Demo Patch 1.1 Released: Gathering More Feedback + Rebalances! - 8 July 2026
Real quick, I made a few strawpolls, if you'd like to answer them! Just got a few simple questions.Firstly, how is the difficulty?https://strawpoll.com/7rnzVRxB3nOSecond, do you believe the beginning of the game is too slow? I noticed 70% of players have only played for around 10 minutes.https://strawpoll.com/w4nWWxo6qnAThird, how do you like Propulsion-Filled Elixirs? I've been having some doubts about how good of a mechanic they are.https://strawpoll.com/PKgleQ05QZpThank you for your time! Onto the patch notes!LEVEL DESIGNGeneral:Mushrooms have been added to areas that normally require Propulsion-Filled Elixirs. (After defeating the titan, of course)Saint Bellingham:Changed the roof color of the lower buildings, and a few minor tweaks. (Hopefully improves the depth perception a little)Rift:Changed the roof color of the lower buildings. (To match Saint Bellingham)WEAPONS AND SPELLSThro…
- Looking for feedback! - 1 July 2026
If you played the Rifted Worlds demo, I'd like to hear your opinion! It can be anything, really. Things you liked, things you didn't like, or anything in between! Just don't keep it all to yourself, alright? If there are flaws, I'd like to try and improve on them!
- Rifted Worlds - DEMO OUT NOW! - 30 June 2026
The demo is now LIVE! Are you ready to rebuild your lost world?Got around 2-4 hours of content for ya! Play the demo and go nuts!Obviously, I'm open to any feedback to improve the game! Let me know what you think; still got the whole rest of the game to make!
- Rifted Worlds - DEMO ON THE WAY! - 2 June 2026
That's right! A demo! Something playable, dare I say! While the final game is still a ways out, you'll at least have something in the form of this demo! A fairly meaty chunk of gameplay here, around 2-4 hours.I can't say for sure when the final game will be out, but I at least hope things should speed up from here. Nearly all of the foundational work is complete, so once the demo launches, most of my work will involve properly expanding on the game's content.Come back on June 30th! Or else. That's a threat.
