- New Variant for All 12 Classes - 25 June 2026
Greetings, Wardens, time to shake things up a bit. New Features This update adds a third variant to each of the 12 existing hero classes. Each class now has 3 variants in total. Every variant comes with its own weapon and unique starting ability, offering new ways to build your party and approach combat. A few examples: - the Barbarian has an Execute attack that scales with Action Points. - the Exorcist can deal damage based on the amount of Terror affecting a target. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. - the Moonblade has Wrist Blades that re-attack on misses and can reduce her Cooldowns. - the Archmage receives an earth-focused variant that starts with Entangle. Alongside the new variants, Clerics can now equip any Staff, opening up additional build possibilities. We've also made a number of balance adjustments, including buffs to Overpower and Second Wind, as well as some targ…

Patch Notes 1.1.1-194: - Fix achievements not unlocking correctly.
- Level Up Rework: Now With 3 Choices! - 5 May 2026
Greetings, Wardens, time to shake things up a bit. New Features Leveling up now gives 3 options to choose from instead of 2. One option is always from your chosen specialization, while the others may also offer abilities from different paths. So you can more easily stay focused or pivot when the opportunity shows up. Overall leveling pace has been slightly tuned alongside these changes, as well as hero health progression. We've also upgraded the level-up UI to support the change. Thank you for playing. We'll keep the updates coming and keep listening. See you in Steam Discussions and Discord. - Florian & Traian Full Patch Notes 1.1.1 Build 193: New Features: - Level up now offers 3 ability options. - New level-up UI to accommodate today's change. - Class Reworks, Fight Variations! And Getting Stabbed Now Buffs the Inquisitor - 1 May 2026
Greetings, Wardens. A lot to cover today. Let's dig in. New Features Each fight now has 3 starting variations, mixing up hero and enemy starting positions, plus enemy types and counts. Reworked Reposition mechanic. Now uses the same value for both movement and target range. Reposition 3 means the enemy can move up to 3 tiles and will try to stay at range 3. Unified Damage Resistance into 1 stat: Absorption, which reduces physical damage by a percentage. Pierce now completely ignores Absorption. You can now see Strength, Absorption as well as Movement as stat bonuses in fight overlays, enemy Bestiary details, as well as the Heroes screen. Level-up rewards now only show new abilities, and unpicked options will not repeat within a run. Optimized the Buff System, improving performance and reducing memory usage. Class Updates We promised we'd update the Assassin and Seer. We went above and b…
- More Level-Ups. Sharper Runs. - 20 April 2026
Hello Wardens, This update focuses on making each level-up decision more meaningful, with clearer tradeoffs and stronger upgrade impact. More Level-ups You’ll now reach level 12 more consistently (instead of stalling around 10–11), which means more level-ups and more build decisions every run. Health scaling has been adjusted to keep end-game durability about the same, and level-ups now favor your chosen class slightly more. These changes are aimed at making it more rewarding to commit to a direction when the opportunity appears, while still keeping the need to adapt each run. More Consistent Synergies, Better Ability Upgrades Several abilities have been reworked to reinforce that direction. Favored Enemy now grants extra damage per Critical Card on the target, Slayer makes Elara stronger vs big enemies, Fervor trades a bit of Courage for immediate tempo, and Opportune is no longer tied…

- Selling is a Thing Now! - 1 April 2026
Greetings, Wardens! Quick reminder: Launch discount ends tomorrow, don't miss out ;) Let's dive into today's patch! New features You can now sell items. You can sell items at any time except when you're in a fight. Because hoarding is nice, but sometimes you need the cash. Multiple Hits will now keep swinging (or firing) even if the enemies move, as long as the target is still in range. We're expecting some new craziness with this one. Protect now covers Debuffs too, not just Status Effects. You can use it to shield yourself from Poison, Burn, Doom and other nasty debuffs. Balance We've removed minimum Hit & Block chances. For example, if you can get Evasion to 100% you will 100% dodge, please break the game. Stealth and Vanish abilities now last 1 turn. The shadows were getting too comfortable. We reminded them this is a tactics game. Valor difficulties have been tightened up. Valor 2…
- Programmer Art vs Empty Pockets: The Conundrum - 31 March 2026
Three years ago, Florian and I quit our jobs and put our savings into making the turn-based RPG we always wanted: deep and challenging like the games we grew up with, but ruthlessly condensed. The whole experience in under two hours. Baldur's Gate 2 meets a lunch break. When you’re funding yourself, romance only gets you so far. We had a coherent 3D style, but our 2D still looked like programmer art. We needed help. Almost two years ago, we found Anca Beldie, a super talented 2D artist who immediately got what we were going for. Together we built out the heroes, and honestly? We were proud of them. These were the designs we planned to ship with. You can still see them in our old Steam trailers. A New Chapter with Numskull In September last year, we signed a publishing deal with Numskull. They saw potential to push the character art into something more dynamic and visually striking, and…
- Valor of Man: Patch 1.0.3-176 - 27 March 2026
Patch Notes 1.0.3 Build 176: - Graphic options: Brightness adjustment. - Nerfed Slime: removed Amorphous from un-upgraded version (less than valor 8). Bumped Health to compensate.
- The Squint Got Nerfed! - 26 March 2026
Greetings, Wardens, We literally heard you squinting at your screens. Whether you're playing on a TV from across the room, or hunched over a Steam Deck on your commute, we've bumped up font sizes across the board. Your eyes deserve it. New features The action bar got a trim, and its icons got a matching glow-up. Cleanse can now be cast even when there's nothing to cleanse, because sometimes you just want to feel clean. More importantly, this makes Cleanse synergies far more consistent to set up, so go ahead and plan those combos without worrying about wasted turns. Hero level-ups now have a higher chance to reward abilities from the chosen class. We've gotten feedback that players want more consistency in building their party, especially for legendary abilities. On the Chaos front, we've bumped points gained by 50% per run and adjusted Modifier unlock costs accordingly. By the time you'…
- By Our Powers Combined! Valor of Man: Patch 1.0.2-172 - 23 March 2026
Greetings, Wardens, Our community is evolving alongside the game, and while we’re hard at work on content updates and new features, we wanted to show our appreciation by tackling a wide range of issues. Today’s update is our way of saying thank you for all the thoughtful feedback you’ve shared. We’ll keep improving every aspect of the game together. Main features On the accessibility side, new players can now select their preferred language directly from the starting menu when creating their profile. Starting today, new classes unlock by winning a run. To unlock additional classes, you’ll need to increase the difficulty and take on the next Valor. Progression remains fast, as the goal is to encourage variety rather than grind. Elites and Bosses are now more dangerous at low Valors, while remaining largely unchanged at higher Valors. Additionally, the Regal Shade and Onyx Gargoyle have r…
- Clean Chaos! Valor of Man: Patch 1.0.1-171 - 21 March 2026
Greetings, Wardens, This update brings a wave of reworks and rebalances targeting enemy behavior, core abilities, and late-game scaling; with a focus on making combat feel cleaner and more intentional at every Valor level. Main features Enemy scaling in high Valor level and Chaos mode has been reworked. Currently, enemies were too resistant to magic, rewarding some strategies more than others. We've reduced their tankiness, but they are now deadlier instead. In addition, we've reworked the following enemies and streamlined the Trample mechanic: - Orc Warriors and Orc Archers no longer have the Blood Loss mechanic that stops their reaction. Instead their reactions now have a fail chance. Their stats have been changed to match the previous level of challenge. The Orc Warrior also loses the Berserk Action, sharpening its identity. - Dreadwretch Flame Eruption has been reworked. It now appl…
- For the Hoard! Valor of Man: Patch 1.0.0-164 - 20 March 2026
Greetings, Wardens, Thank you to everyone who dived in and tried the full game! We appreciate all the feedback and reviews. It means a lot and helps us make the game even better. Today's patch is about fixing some of the issues you've reported and improving overall stability. Main Features Added an automatic save backup every 10 minutes, so your progress is always safe. Increased the inventory size so you can hoard away! Fixed a couple of balance issues with some potential cheeses and an over-tuned enemy (looking at you, Mr. Specter 👀). That's great, but what's next? We're actively working on: 💰 A Sell feature for items you no longer need; highly requested and on its way. 📜 Tooltips for the Map legend. 🛡️ A bunch of other fixes and balance updates. Stay tuned, and thanks again for your continued support. See you in Steam Discussions and Discord. - Florian & Traian Full Patch Notes 1…
