- Steam Deck the Halls - 2 December 2025
Welcome to December! Because many of our one player does so on the Steam Deck, we've focused this update on QOL for him. You can now use a controller to get into a game and play it, all without touching a screen or using a mouse. There are limitations, though. I'll keep working on it.Additionally, we've updated the S & A (Stats and Achieves) button to be Stats & Leads. It shows the leaderboards alongside your stats now.Controller SupportMain menu navigable by joystickHold left trigger in game to really fine-tune your meat placementYou can transition between keyboard, mouse, and controller seamlessly in-gameGame Over Menu you will need to use touch or mouse (for now).Leaderboard UpdatesThe leaderboard can now be manually cycled through using the arrow buttonsLeaderboards are now displayed in the Stats & Leads menu, so you don't have to start a gameAfter this, we will be building a secret…
- The Sweet Sounds of Weekly Meats - 25 November 2025
I got a little distracted after our last update in March, but now we're back with the promised soundtrack update. Some people, if you can even call them people, have less taste than brains and don't love the original in-game music. To solve this problem, we've added 3 new tracks in different styles that you can choose to drink in with your ear-mouth while chasing a new all-time high score. But, since some inhuman meat-monster has had the All Time High Score on the leaderboards for the past couple of months and everybody is mad about it, we've decided to add in Weekly Leaderboards.Song Selection In Options MenuClassico (it's a classic)Dixie (menu music)Jazz BabyInstrumentalVocals (for people that really like vocals)Weekly LeaderboardsWeekly leaderboards reset at midnight UTC on Sundays
- TTBF - 13 March 2025
Teeny Tiny Bug Fix.
- Glerks more like... well I guess they're just called Glerks - 12 March 2025
It's been brought to our attention that we have a real Glerk problem. JlLNQPnibQ8 We hope this patch fixes the Glerking but there are also some other changes. We've got 4 new achievements, and some of the meats have a subtle change in their shape that hopefully better aligns the visuals to the hit boxes, ensuring less daylight between your meats. Look out soon for a soundtrack update. New Achievements Overglizzy Glizzimanjaro 8,000 Points 10,000 Points
- Major Bug Fix - Composite Colliders - 25 April 2024
There's been a bigtime oopsies going on since we introduced Meat-Shaped Colliders. It's been brought to my attention through watching people play the game that sometimes meats will fall through the container or burst out the sides when playing with Meat-Shaped Colliders turned on. I spent a lot of time trying to fix this, and finally came up with a new solution. So, everybody who has been playing with Meat-Shaped colliders will now be moved over to Composite Colliders which are still way more meat-shaped than circular, but not quite as good as Meat-Shaped. But, they do have the advantage of staying in the jar and not popping out the bottom. Enjoy!
- More Stats, More Achieves, and the Meatballer - 9 April 2024
Just adding in a couple of small changes here. The meatballer sounds cooler than it is. It's like a meatball, but more. You'll see. New Stats Now tracking counts of all the different meats you've dropped or created New Achievements Glizzy Achievement actually unlocks now Two Thousand Points Four Thousand Points Five Thousand Points Six Thousand Points The Meatballer The meatball always looked like a mess. Now it looks meatballer than it did before.
- Balance Changes - 8 April 2024
Nobody seemed to really care for who was on top of the global leaderboard, so we made some changes that will inflate everybody's scores, as well as make it easier to play the game predictably without your meat flying out of the jar all wimbly bimbly. Balance Changes Larger meats are now heavier meats, so they do a better job of staying in the jar and not pushing everything around When meats merge, they now award extra points equal to half of the Pepperoni Equivalent (PPE) value of the new meat. Merge streak milestones (G-G-G-Glizzy, Overglizzy, Glizzymanjaro) now each award 16 points when reached. Other Changes To pump people up and make them excited, I animated the score a little bit. I didn't do a great job of it, but hopefully it gets some people juicing.
- Global Leaderboard Update - 5 April 2024
Alright, now that there are people playing that aren't my friends and never will be, I wanted to see how we all stack up. This update Cycles through the Friends Leaderboard and the Global Leaderboard so we can see which one of us has the most meat in our jar.
- Launch Day Patch - 4 April 2024
I know I had been planning on April 15th, but then early this morning Steam allowed me to press the Release button, so I did. The temptation was overwhelming. But then I realized I wasn't quite finished with everything I wanted to do so I had to put together this patch, which addresses some of it: - Application Icon has been changed from the default unity icon - Pressing escape in game now brings up a menu instead of assuming you want to quit the game. Upcoming enhancements: - Currently the leader board only shows your friends, soon it will be toggleable to see the global leaderboard
- Meat-Shaped Meats and Volume Controls - 28 March 2024
For reasons I'll never understand - frankly, I don't want to understand - some people want the "music" to be "quieter" so they can "still hear it" but not "hear it so loudly" because they're "not fun at parties". That's why we made that options button in the last update. Now when you click on it, you have two options. One to control the music volume, and the other to change the colliders on the meat to more closely follow the shape of the image. Classic behavior is "Circular Colliders" and is the default. However, if you'd like to try something a little different we have "Meat-Shaped Colliders". Try it out! Additional Changes - Menu Music added (it's that soft, supple banger from the trailer) - Fixed a bug where multiple meats out of bounds screwed up the screenshot on the game over screen
- Stats & Achievements Update - 28 March 2024
Do you remember in the last update when I added an S & A (Stats and Achieves) button to the main menu? Do you also remember that it didn't do anything? The S & A (Stats and Achieves) button now functions a little differently. It brings up your stats (no word on the achieves yet). Check them out. I think they're pretty neat. I have some plans for adding some additional stats before launch, but I wanted to get these out there and I wasted a lot of time wondering why my stats weren't saving when it turns out I was just... you know what? I don't need to explain myself to you. Finally, for those of you that loved the functionality of the S & A (Stats and Achieves) button before this update, don't worry. The new Options button now does nothing. I'm sure you'll like it just as much.
- Game Over Menu Updates - 26 March 2024
We've been working a lot on the Game Over menu, since some of you didn't like the original minimalist approach and prefer a world saturated with the sickly sweet plastic vibrancy of your 2020s mobile phone world. This update adds buttons to either quit, play, or go back to the main menu from the game over modal, instead of just assuming you want to play again when you click anywhere on the screen.
- April 15th Release - 26 March 2024
To celebrate the deadline for filing taxes in the United States, as well as the beginning of FPS Fest here on Steam, we have decided to release Hotdog Kitchen on April 15th. Oh my god, I'm just now realizing "Hot dog" is two words. We might need to push this release. Oh man, why didn't anybody tell me? It's fine. I've decided it's a stylistic choice. Another crisis averted. Enjoy!
