  • Astrosphere v0.42 – Shield Doctrine - 5 August 2026

v0.42 introduces a three-layer defense system of shield, armor and hull on ships and stations, alongside procedural NPC loadouts, armed sector stations and an overhauled hostile detection in the sector map and minimap.NewThree-layer defense system for ships: damage hits the shield first, then the armor, and finally the hull. Excess damage is immediately passed on to the next layer. Shield and armor systems use existing primary system slots; ships without these systems have 0 maximum points while all three bars remain visible.Three armor systems with world blueprints: three passive primary systems without MK tiers, fully researchable and installable.Three shield systems with research and blueprints: the new primary system generators smallShield, mediumShield and largeShield, analogous to the armor systems.Destructible and armed sector stations: the 11 normal and 7 exotic inhabited sector…

  • Astrosphere v0.41.1 – Maneuvering & Laser Polish - 29 July 2026

Small maintenance build with three targeted fixes for a calmer sector-loading experience and a more consistent weapon feel. GraphicsThe blue beam of the precision laser is now visually a bit slimmer. BugfixesThe sector loading screen UI no longer flickers on scene change in the Home Sector. The maneuvering thrusters no longer start automatically in the shipyard.

  • Astrosphere v0.41 – Precision Pulse - 28 July 2026

A smaller update with a new weapon, more robust saves and two fixed bugs.NewPrecision Laser – new ship weapon: a highly focused blue-turquoise laser with short, precise beam pulses for combat at extreme range. It deals devastating damage but requires exceptional energy and long charge times.ImprovementsThe save system has been improved.BugfixesMining bug fixed: items added during an active mining operation are now safely registered, their mining duration is added to the ongoing operation, and progress counters are only increased on a successful extraction. Infinite loops are prevented.Fixed a display error in the Home Sector.

  • Astrosphere v0.40 – Blueprint Signals - 20 July 2026

Update v0.40 expands the object list and short-range sensor with new blueprint, scan, and action features. Blueprint drops have also been stabilized, the number of timed civilian ship spawns has been capped, and all ship system graphics have been unified. NewBlueprints are now displayed in the object list of the objects UI window. The object list now supports direct attack and scan actions for suitable targets.A new icon button allows scanning an object directly from the object list. The short-range sensor window can now be opened manually at any time via its own button. ChangesThe rarity of a blueprint in the short-range sensor is now shown using the existing localized UI labels instead of the English internal enum name.Timed civilian ship spawns are now capped sector-wide at a maximum of twelve ships. The limit applies jointly to all active spawners.Destroyed or despawned civilian ships…

  • v0.39: New key bindings, better performance & many improvements - 16 July 2026

Controls, performance and game flow improved This update adds a full keybinding system to Astrosphere, unifies controls on the Steam Deck and improves performance in busy sectors. In addition, the behavior of pirates, the introduction to the game, several blueprint functions and numerous smaller details have been revised. New features Complete keybinding system The previously static control overview has been replaced by a dynamic and scrollable occupancy list. Keyboard and mouse as well as controllers have separate areas. Customized key assignments are saved globally and loaded automatically the next time you start the game. Revised entry and first sector jump The process from the home sector to the first jump has been made clearer and more robust. New save games now begin with the intended story start and complete starting equipment. Your own ship can be selected directly in the home s…

  • Update 0.38 - 11 July 2026

NewPersistent jettisoning of ship cargo: The previous destroy buttons in the sector drop ship cargo at the ship's current position. It works during flight and on the extraction screen. Nearby active loot containers are expanded preferentially; otherwise a new lootable container cluster is created. Dropped cargo is saved per sector and per save and is restored the next time you enter the sector. Station cargo is unaffected and is not teleported into the sector.Cargo weight affects flight behavior: The fill level of the player cargo hold increases the effective ship weight linearly. An empty cargo hold changes nothing; at 100% fill the ship is 10% heavier and therefore around 9.1% slower and less agile to turn. The effect remains noticeable at the existing speed caps.New sprites for all spaceships: All spaceships in the game receive new sprites.Sound effects for blueprints and data scansD…

  • Update 0.37 – Stations, Tooltips & Dynamic Economy - 8 July 2026

Astrosphere – Update 0.37 This update adds a second layer of strategic depth to Astrosphere: data, workshops and trade respond more strongly to what you do in the sector. Shipbuilding, projectile weapons, economy and the station database are closely connected. New18 different stations – The game world now contains a total of 18 individually designed stations.New UI window: ship purchase – A dedicated overview for buying spaceships, structured more clearly than the previous solution.Tooltips for all interactable objects – Every clickable object in the game world now opens a tooltip window. You can immediately tell what it is and whether you have already scanned it. Scanned objects show their contained resources directly in the tooltip.Smart lead calculation – Automatic projectile weapons calculate an intercept course for every shot from position, distance, projectile speed, and target an…

  • Beta Release v0.37-b2 - 1 July 2026

World-Object Tooltips in SectorsHovering over a world object in a sector now shows a tooltip. The tooltip respects the configured sensor range and ignores the player ship as well as UI elements, so the cursor only locks onto actual sector objects.A scan-aware builder supplies the content: scan-dependent details, current ship status, and up to four aggregated resource entries at once. Owner-related world and UI tooltips still come from the shared TooltipController, with the tooltip canvas wired accordingly.Dynamic Lead for Automatic Projectile WeaponsAutomatic projectile weapons now compute an intercept course per shot. They take the position and distance of target and shooter, projectile speed, and the actual target and ship velocity into account.Scan Requirement for AnomaliesSector exits and in-sector anomalies only react to the player ship once the anomaly has been scanned. Unscanned…

  • Update 0.35 - Tactical Awareness Update - 23 June 2026

New Objects WindowA dedicated UI window has been added that lists every object currently detected within your sensor range. Previously, contacts had to be tracked piecemeal through other interface elements; now they are consolidated into a single, scrollable list view that updates in real time as contacts enter or leave sensor range. Each entry displays the relevant identifying information so you can assess the situation at a glance and decide how to respond. This window becomes the central hub for situational awareness during both exploration and combat.Direct Target Designation from the Objects WindowObjects listed in the new Objects window can now be selected and marked as attack targets directly from that interface. Once a target is designated, your ship will automatically engage and fire on the selected contact without requiring additional input. This removes the previous multi-ste…
