  • The Crimson Lyre 1.0 - 28 May 2026

Today the Crimson Lyre leaves Early Access. The Crimson Lyre began as an experiment in atmosphere, exploration, and player freedom. I wanted players to approach situations their own way: stealth, combat, curiosity, or improvisation. I’m proud of what the game became over that time.Version 1.0 represents the most complete vision of The Crimson Lyre so far. That said, this is not necessarily the end. I still care deeply about the world and may continue supporting or expanding the game as time allows and interest grows. At the same time, development has also begun on the next project! I’m excited to share more about that soon.To everyone who played the game, left feedback, reported bugs, posted about it, or simply gave the project a chance...Thank you again for being part of this journey. • Holiday Update - 5 December 2025

Holiday Update Patch Notes!Hey everyone! As we approach the end of 2025 let me start by giving thanks to all of you that have played my game. Making a game as a solo developer is hard but worth it… My plan is to continue making games until the wheels fall off and having a community to share them with is a privilege I cherish. Also, this marks the 6 months mark of Early Access for The Crimson Lyre and halfway to 1.0. This month I finished the Lich quest logic, although I might add more lore at different parts of the game for context. I also started a quest that alludes to a secret involving the rubedo achievement - More on that next month. I made some changes to the combat that will I hope make it more engaging. More combat updates would likely involve enemy AI, so that might be difficult. One major change is the addition of a combat health bar for when fights get up close and personal…

  • August Update - 31 August 2025

Hello everyone! Please take a moment to read over the patch notes. This month a lot of work was done on the back end. This was mainly to get the game out on all platforms so less real new content. I also finished the last of the quality of life (QoL) changes I was aware people wanted. At this point I am moving away from backend stuff and this sort of QoL work and move forward with content being more of the work. I will still address bugs as they come up, and optimizations where I can, but they will take up a much smaller portion of the work.New Content:1. Finished Localization. As far as I am aware, everything is localized.2. New Axe WeaponsBug Fixes:1. A silly sound spawned when you got to the game over screen… FIXED!2. Fixed FOV resetting with certain items like the spyglass3. Fixed the Mouse inversion uninverting whenever settings were saved4. Crashing when transitioning to the mount…
