- Early Access Build 4.03 - 10 September 2026
Fixed strafe leaning being almost completely broken. Fixed several crashes when loading a replay as a race ghost. Fixed the viewmodel fov setting not loading properly on startup. Fixed the speed display setting being incorrectly labeled as input display in the menu. Removed the slash from the 0 character in the font. This makes the capital O and 0 characters identical, but that shouldn't cause any issues with readability in the game as-is.
- Early Access Build 4.02 - 22 July 2026
Fixed a moving collision desync when a map is fully reset through a menu.
- Early Access Build 4.01 - 19 July 2026
New settings to customize the sync audio cue can be found in the game settings tab. The audio cue can now be disabled and the length of time the rocket must be airborne for the cue to play can also be adjusted. Fixed the restart button shown after finishing a map not working. Fixed a typo in the difficulty level of Descent.
- Early Access Build 4 - 28 June 2026
Sorry for all the delays on this one, but I'm finally done with Early Access Build 4, featuring two new maps and the functionality for moving collision, alongside some changes to replays and the early game's difficulty curve. You can learn about everything new in the update by watching the accompanying devlog about this update, or jump in immediately and try out the new maps for yourself.Patch Notes:New Bonus Map: OrbitalNew Surf Map: AnubisReworked the replay system to ensure compatibility with moving collision. Unfortunately, this means the leaderboards had to be reset alongside this update. The attached devlog has more info on this change and why it was necessary.Replays now show a loading bar when loading, and the game will no longer become unresponsive while loading a replay.Added the ability to view medal times for a map by hovering the mouse over a medal in the menu after selecti…
- Update on the Next Update - 30 May 2026
I've been giving somewhat regular updates on Blast Processed development in my Discord server and in my YouTube text posts, but I realize I should probably post something here since this next update has taken much longer than it should have. There have been a lot of technical challenges that I've had to tackle regarding moving collision, but I'm confident now that I'm almost done. I wanted to state here that I'm going to need to significantly change how replays are structured in this update, and this means that old replays will be incompatible in the new version. For those who have purchased access to the leaderboards, this also means I'll be wiping the leaderboards when the update releases.Sorry for the inconvenience there, but there are just a lot of both immediately pressing and potential future problems that this change will fix, and on top of that it's likely that the leaderboards w…
- Early Access Build 3.02 - 23 March 2026
- Fixed a game crash when removing a bind in the control settings.
- Early Access Build 3.01 - 23 January 2026
Fixed the ambient audio in Ascent not looping.Fixed the secret in Paradise lacking a subtitle when reached.
- Early Access Build 3 & Official Leaderboards Release - 2 January 2026
Blast Processed now has official in-game leaderboards, which are available to access through this DLC:In order to cover the costs of running my own servers for the leaderboards, I had to put leaderboard access behind a small paywall. I have added a 20% launch discount which will run for a week after launch, so consider getting in while it's a bit cheaper. Regardless, I'm very appreciative anyone who can help support the game's development by purchasing the DLC
- Blast Processed Leaderboards Beta Test Event - 14 December 2025
UPDATE: The test event is now over, and the test build is no longer available to use. I was able to identify a fairly serious issue through this test, so thanks to everyone who helped out by reporting issues
- Early Access Build 2.01 - 25 October 2025
This update just improves some small things related to the UI.Patch Notes:Added a small space between every character in the font. This should greatly reduce how many letters touch each other at smaller font sizes and generally make the text easier to read.Added a bind to instantly toggle fullscreen. The default bind is F11.Added an option and a bind to completely toggle the HUD. The option can be found in the game tab, and the default bind is F1.Changed the kerning of the "1" character in the font to conform with the spacing of the other number characters.Changed the speed display and speedrun timer so that the decimal portions of the text always show two decimal places. In conjunction with the previous change, this greatly reduces how much the text in these UI elements "jitters" as it changes.Any text that shows a timestamp (like the speedrun timer or the time display in the replay me…
- Early Access Build 2 - 18 October 2025
The first major update for Blast Processed is here, featuring two new maps and a suite of new features designed for speedrunning like a practice mode and built-in splits for the speedrun timer. You can learn about everything new in the update by watching the accompanying devlog about this update, or jump in immediately and try out the new features for yourself.Patch Notes:New Map: VillageNew Map: DescentAdded practice mode for all maps. If you have a save file from an earlier version, you'll have to start the map normally once for the practice button to appear. Practice mode includes features like save states, a changeable time scale, a noclip bind, and more.Added split triggers to all maps. When racing a replay as a ghost, you'll see how far ahead or behind you are compared to the ghost at certain points in the map. When not racing a ghost, your best splits during a single session will…
- Early Access Build 1.12 - 9 July 2025
These patch notes come along with an update, though they also include some undocumented changes I put out in very small updates over the past week or so (in chronological order). Split the centered speed display setting into an upper and lower option that determines whether the display is shown above or below the crosshair. Fixed an issue where fully resetting a map on the same tick that you respawn at a checkpoint grants you the checkpoint after fully resetting. Fixed new keybinds reappearing if you add and delete them in the same play session.
- Early Access Build 1.11 - 2 July 2025
The speed display setting is now a dropdown with an additional "Centered" option. This option will show the speed display just above the crosshair. Slightly changed how text looks and how it's scaled with resolution. Fixed an issue where the time of a replay in the replay viewer would be different than the time saved to the file.
- Early Access Build 1.1 - 27 June 2025
This is a bigger update than the previous small patches since I've made the first change that breaks replay compatibility across the game. If you want to go back and view your old replays, I've put up a beta version which will allow you to watch old replays. To download that version, right click Blast Processed in your Steam library -> Properties -> Betas and select the "replay_compatibility" beta.Changes:Extended the buffer window for perfect slides and perfect bunnyhops. Some players weren't realizing you can return to your current checkpoint at will by pressing R (by default), so now the game will show a reminder if you fall for too long, which should show up in Paradise if you fall all the way to the kill plane from a higher jump. You can disable this reminder completely in the pause menu.Changed the wording of the basic tutorial to draw more attention to reset binds.Changed the word…
- Early Access Build 1.06 - 24 June 2025
Using reset binds in the pause menu is now restricted to the initial menu and only works on full maps. Fixed hit indicators appearing during replay loading. Fixed the tooltip for the input display setting.
- Early Access Build 1.05 - 23 June 2025
New Feature: Hit Indicators By default, you'll now be shown the horizontal direction you've been hit by a rocket from. This HUD element can be disabled in the options menu. Reverted the changes made to reset binds in 1.02, since they may be causing desyncs. Using a reset bind while the game is paused will now fully restart the map and begin recording a new replay. Fixed incomplete replays sometimes being deleted when they shouldn't be. Fixed error handling for invalid/corrupted replays.
- Early Access Build 1.04 - 22 June 2025
Fixed Dynamic FOV and Strafe Lean toggles not loading from the settings file on startup. Replays may load a little bit faster now. I'm also aware of a bug with borderless fullscreen that causes the window to be misaligned on startup. If you run into this bug, please let me know what sort of monitor setup you have (number of monitors, resolutions, etc.), since I've been unable to replicate it on multiple computers.
- Early Access Build 1.03 - 21 June 2025
Fixed the final map being visible when it hasn't been unlocked yet in certain cases. Fixed a typo in the options menu.
- Early Access Build 1.02 - 21 June 2025
Disabled the ability to bind mouse wheel to actions. This didn't work properly and was just causing confusion. Using a reset bind before reaching a checkpoint will now reset the timer and start recording a new replay. Using a reset bind no longer starts the timer at the start of a map. Made a few medal times a bit more lenient. Congratulations to anyone who achieved them before this!
- Minor Map Tweaks - 20 June 2025
This update has some balance changes to maps, particularly the surf tutorial in Metropolis which was unreasonably difficult for several people. Unfortunately, the updates I've made to Paradise, Metropolis, and Palace mean that any replays recorded on these maps in the previous version will not be viewable on the new version, since those changes may cause desyncs. Your best times are still saved and will be displayed when you go to select the map, but you won't be able to watch or race against them. I want to get these replay breaking changes out of the way as soon as possible before people really start speedrunning, so hopefully this isn't too much of an inconvenience to anyone this soon after launch.
