- Goofy Goober Simulator - Halloween Progress Update - 1 November 2024
Happy Halloween, goobers. GGS is still, albeit slow, still under development. Outside of the store page, we haven't really shared much about what GGS is about, so here's a rundown: Goofy Goober Simulator (We'll refer to it as GGS Classic) was a small top down one-screen shooter filled entirely with placeholder art. Our lead programmer found it funny, and tinkered with it to be a bit larger scale, which became the first build of GGS. GGS has gone through, what, roughly 5 distinct major builds so far, with the steam release being the latest. This build is hopefully close to the true potential of the original GGS classic, while remaining in its original engine. That original engine is, uh, Turbowarp*. While Turbowarp is *excellent*, especially in its modding capabilities, it's MUCH harder to make something compared to Unity or Unreal, leading to a much lower scope than originally planned (β¦
