- The Tragedy at Deer Creek 1.1 is Live & Demo update! - 6 July 2026
Hi everyone! I hope all is well. Stay hydrated.Thank you all for your feedback - a few surviving, cold-resilient bugs survived into Deer Creek but most (if not all!) have been taken care of. In addition of bug squashing, this update brings something our lovely little community have asked for... The in game hint-system! At times, Charlotte might end up being a bit lost when trying to solve the mystery as to what happened in Deer Creek. By rubbing her nogging while looking at her notes, she now can concentrate really hard and get additional clues as for what to do! The hint-system is disabled by default but you can enable it via the Settings menu to add a lightbulb to the bottom of the journal for additional guidance. Simply click it to get a hint - it'll check which quest is selected and what your current objective is and nudge you forward! There is usually just a single hint, but if the…

It's a strange thing, working together on something for so long, for it to somewhat end in an instant. But The Tragedy at Deer Creek is now live. - Hi everyone. We’re releasing tomorrow. - 9 June 2026
We’re arguably not the best at keeping you updated, but we’re happy to let you know that we’re releasing The Tragedy at Deer Creek tomorrow. It’s has really been a ride, and we’re finally done. We will keep improving the game and squash any bugs that has slipped through our testing. This first version of the game will be in English only, with German and Spanish coming later this fall. We’re also planning an art book that shows how the art style evolved during development, that will come at the end of the summer hopefully. We want to extend a special thank you to everyone here at Boden Game Camp who has helped us along the way. We’ve made really good friends here and we’re so happy to be a small part of this community. The game will go live tomorrow evening here in Sweden - we hope you’ll like it. Frid och välgång Andreas & Micke at Sparrowland

- AdventureX 2025 - Gameplay Stream - 19 November 2025
We’re happy to share that Sparrowland will be part of the AdventureX 2025 convention in London, at the LSBU Hub Building and the AdventureX event on Steam. We’re thrilled to leave the northern Swedish woods for a while, join an amazing lineup of narrative-focused creators, and showcase what we’ve been working on for the last two years. A Winter Noir Story about Family, Love, and LoyaltyThe Tragedy at Deer Creek puts you in the role of photographer Charlotte Gray as she arrives in Deer Creek to document a long-abandoned logging camp for her upcoming book Forgotten Frontiers. While mapping out the camp, she discovers signs and fragments of the people who once lived there, and as Charlotte pieces them together, the story of the tragedy that befell Deer Creek and its inhabitants begins to unfold.
- The results are in...! What's next? - 21 October 2025
Now that our first-ever Next Fest is over, we can have a look at the results. The support we've received far exceeded our expectations, and we're super happy for everyone who has given the demo a go and appreciate the feedback and reviews. We've had more than 800 lifetime unique users playing the demo for The Tragedy at Deer Creek, with over 100 daily active users. We also saw a big increase in wishlists during the event, which is very motivating while we're working on putting the final pieces in place before release, which we’re hoping will be around Jan/Feb next year (fingers crossed). So, what's next?On November 10th, we’re going to Germany to attend Game Ground Berlin (13th–16th), then heading home for a quick laundry stop before travelling to the UK for AdventureX in London (22nd–23rd). Should you be at any of those events, we would love for you to come and say hi!Again, thank you so…

- Demo now live! - 10 October 2025
Our first public demo is now live. You play as Charlotte Gray, a photographer and researcher arriving at the long-abandoned logging camp of Deer Creek. Her latest project, Forgotten Frontiers, is meant to capture the last traces of lost settlements across the states. Deer Creek is her final stop. Quiet, remote, and untouched for over a century. At first, the camp seems empty. Snow muffles every sound, and the buildings stand frozen in time. But as Charlotte begins her work, she finds traces that something terrible happened here.In this demo, you’ll explore the first section of the campsite, solve early puzzles, and uncover the first hints of what happened here one hundred years ago.We hope that you enjoy the demo! We're hard at work finishing the last parts of the game, which we will be able to release in the upcoming months.

- Autumn Update and our progress - 9 October 2024
With a hectic summer behind us, we wanted to share some of what we've been working on lately! The last few pieces of the main storyline are being assembled, and afterward, optional content will be added to the game. I had to change my mind regarding the cutscene I mentioned in a previous post, which was to be published here, as it might not be wise to spill the beans and show how you solve a puzzle before the game launches.. Nevertheless, here's a little something our artist has been working on lately. Meet Edgar Flynn — a stern and strong logger who was among the first to arrive at Deer Creek. We wish you all the best! Sparrowland
- A post of appreciation! - 23 July 2024
I just wanted to chime in and give a huge thank you to the ones who found interest and wishlisted our pointy-clicky game. We recently passed 500 wishlists, which is a huge milestone for us. Development is moving on quite nicely, and we should soon be able to publish a little cutscene our artist Bianca have been working on. All the best and thanks again! Sparrowland
- The Tragedy at Deer Creek steam page is live! - 31 May 2024
This is a huge milestone for our humble little studio. The Tragedy at Deer Creek started to take shape around the middle of 2022. Fast forward a year, Sparrowland was founded, and now in 2024, the Steam page is live! We've met some incredible people along the way, and our journey is just beginning. In March 2025, Charlotte Gray will head out to Deer Creek to finish her project 'Abandoned Alaska'. What she doesn't know is that there are secrets, stories, and tragedy hidden beneath the Alaskan snow. 'The Tragedy at Deer Creek' is a narrative-driven point-and-click adventure game. It tells a mournful tale of family, loss, and loyalty, exploring the lengths we are willing to go to protect the ones we love. - Sparrowland
