Latest Steam announcements

  • Now You're Speaking My Language - Patch V1.6.0 - 27 October 2024

Patch Notes: Language override option in the main menu. For those of you who might enjoy typing in a different language than your computer settings.. Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • New Content - Calm Waters - Patch V1.5.0 - 21 October 2024

Patch Notes: A whole new environment! A beautiful lake and waterfall. Rewild the level by adding trees, lilly pads and flowers. Nature themed levels have been a popular request so far. We hope you enjoy this one. Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • Would You Like To See The Menu? - Patch 1.4.0 - 7 October 2024

Patch Notes: Audio settings screen added. Accessible from the main menu. Main menu is now a scroll view which focusses the currently selected item. We can now add additional content or other settings without worrying about screen space. This is probably the least impressive patch but it took a surprising amount of UI work to complete. 🙂 Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • Turning Japanese - Patch V1.3.0 - 28 September 2024

Patch Notes: Japanese language added. Thanks to Hiroshi Ashida for getting in touch and providing the translation. Quit option now present from the main menu. German keyboard umlauts now supported. All English levels have been regenerated to time the waits for the end of sentences. Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • Story Time - Patch V1.2.0 - 21 September 2024

When listening to the feedback we've had so far, the thing that came up the most is players being annoyed at having to type in the same word multiple times in the same build. The words on their own are relaxing but there's not enough of them and they don't connect with what's on the screen. So we went back to the drawing board. Each level now has a story based on what you're building. It's a different experience to read and type the story of someone travelling to London for the first time to see Big Ben or the peace that's experienced when gardening. This is quite a big change to how the game feels to play and we really think it's a great addition. Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • Achievements - Patch V1.1.0 - 14 September 2024

Achievements have now been added for completing each level! That's kind of it really. What else is there to say? Relax and enjoy, Dave

  • Tranquil Builds Out Now - 10 September 2024

Time to tuck yourself in, turn down the noise of life and build some beautiful little constructions. There's been some real hard work and love gone into our custom creations. We really hope you enjoy building them. Dave

  • Road to Release - 2 September 2024

It's only a matter of days until Tranquil Builds will be available to purchase. Originally, we'd hoped to release in early access with a fairly low price and continue development, bumping the price up slightly for new players as the game received more and more content updates. Sadly though, the number of wishlists Tranquil Builds currently has shows that we wouldn't be able to sell anywhere near enough copies to fund development. Both myself and Jerr, the artist, have loved working on this game and we felt leaving it in its current state of limbo isn't really doing it justice. We're pulling together everything we've worked on and will push it live shortly for a nominal price. Jerr's amazing Big Ben environment is a whopping 373 pieces and this release will be the first time it is playable. Thanks for everyone's feedback during Next Fest and for playing over the last few months. We hope…

  • Showcase Live Stream - 13 June 2024

A small showcase in the lead up to the official Next Fest stream later today.

  • 🟢 Steam Next Fest Cosy Stream - 12 June 2024

Unwind and watch a live stream of the developers playing some of the latest Tranquil Build levels. If you like what you see, please wishlist Tranquil Builds. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2771980/Tranquil_Builds/

  • Build a London Icon - 9 June 2024

The latest environment we've been working on might just be the coolest yet! The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben are absolute icons of the British capital city. When Tranquil Builds launches you'll be able to play and place all 373 pieces. Check out the new trailer above. Enjoy and relax, Dave

  • Demo 1.0.5 Update - 2 April 2024

All Your Base Most of the levels now have a few pieces already laid to create a starting base. Part of the demo feedback was that initial empty levels could seem confusing and overwhelming. Having a base to build from, whilst still not giving the full structure away, should help. Button patterns Up to this point, button patterns were automatically created with a level editor. This had the benefit of being quick to create but some of the patterns, by nature, felt random and didn't always flow around the controller as a button pattern should. In this update, all patterns are human designed so that they all feel fun and punchy to input. And that's not all. The classic saying, variety is the spice of controller based input, still rings true. Trigger patterns are now interspersed amongst the input stream to give your fingers a rest. Level Groups The level select screen now has level grouping…

  • Tranquil Builds Demo - The Stats - 17 February 2024

Now that the Tranquil Builds demo has been live for a couple of weeks let’s dish the dirt with some statistics. 185 buildings have been constructed with the farm taking the lions share of these. I assume that’s because the farm is the first level displayed in the main menu. 9,625 pieces have been placed. With my back of a napkin calculations, at 5 seconds a piece that’s 48,125 seconds or more than 13 hours played. Quite a tidy number on a short demo. 10 player languages. 85% of the players were English. Followed by a simplified Chinese, French and Italian. The demo launched only in English and since then the store page and demo have been translated to 5 additional languages. That 85% may drop over the next few weeks. 1 new environment added. We’ve been working hard on adding content, features and tweaks to the demo. There’s still more in the works. The demo isn’t going anywhere yet. The…

  • Dev Diary #2 - 11 February 2024

It's been just under 2 weeks since the first developer diary and there's been quite a few little updates. Firstly the store page and the demo is localised to French, Italian, German, Spanish and simplified Chinese. I doubt that means we can call ourselves an international construction company but hey ho. Secondly, the Steam store images are looking a lot better. I still like simplicity and brightness of the old one but new version has a hand painted look that is just relaxing to the core. Finally, even though it's not yet available to play, we've been hard at work on the engine buildable. Pistons firing animation is something to behold. The great news is that this will be added to the demo so you won't have to wait for the full game to play! Enjoy and relax, Dave

  • Demo Language Update - 4 February 2024

The demo is now available in French, Italian, German and Spanish. Hopefully this should bring more stressed people to the store page who need a good relaxing. We're hopeful that the next language to be supported in the demo and store page will be simplified Chinese but this might need a little thinking about due to the large character set of that language. It took some long nights combining ChatGPT and Google Translate to specifically find relaxing words in each language. This was the bit that we couldn't simply pay a translator to do without huge expense. Enjoy and relax, Dave

  • Dev Diary #1 - 29 January 2024

It's been really exciting to see the demo go live and hear feedback from a few of you. One thing that's sadly been missing from the launch is store page and in game translations. Rest assured they're being worked on right now. Then again if you're reading this you speak English so errm you're already good to go. The idea is to reach as many people as possible and present them a demo that feels calming and natural to them. The hard part is coming up with 80 relaxing words in each language. We've also got a really cool engine environment in the works. Seeing the animation of all the pistons firing is really really cool. Lots more to come. Enjoy and relax, Dave

  • Let's Get Tranquil - 26 January 2024

After months of work behind the scenes, today, the first Tranquil Builds demo is live. It includes 3 environments to build and can be downloaded directly from the Steam page. Hopefully you enjoy the chill, pressure free vibes. The windmill is my favourite environment. It’s a lengthy animated construction of the inner workings of an old fashioned grain mill. Make sure to give that one a twirl. As part of the release we put together a trailer which was a blast. The second shot is a special one off put together in the game engine to show an environment getting built super quickly. Enjoy and relax, Dave
