The basic section contains basic things such as name, seed, and whether cheats are on or off. The advanced section now includes two new options. The first one is the maze generation algorithm. - The Maze Project Update 0.3 - 12 February 2025
The Maze Project Update 0.3 is here. It took a little bit longer than initially expected, mainly for rewriting many systems to be compatible with loading and unloading multiple mazes. This update rewrites many of the game's core systems. A Brand New Maze A brand new maze awaits for you! New puzzles, new manifestation and new items. Enter its captivating, foggy atmosphere and survive alone or with friends. The new manifestation featured in this maze has a better AI, allowing it to have different behaviors. There are also day and night cycles in the second maze. During the night, the visibility gets lower and the manifestation awakens, but beware, once it awakens, it doesn't rest until it gets you, even when it's day! Some parts of the first maze has also gone through a little bit of a redesign. Upgraded AI Some of the AI logic has been upgraded to utilize the GOAP approach. GOAP is a sop…

A demo version, finally! I'm happy to announce a brand new demo version of The Maze Project. This demo version is now available for free to everyone. Invite your friends or family to share some scary experiences and test your logical thinking in some of the challenges that the maze lays down on you. This project has come a long way from its early beginnings from before two years to now, and now I want to share that progress with you so you can try out the game and get a feeling for yourself of how the game is in its current state. What about other platforms? The first, and the only one for now, is Windows. There will be support for the macOS and Linux operating systems sometime later. The game needs to be further tested when it comes to these systems, so it can be fully optimized and run smoothly. How long will the demo last? There are no plans as of now to end the demo. Even though the…

- The Maze Project Update 0.1.5 - 1 April 2024
The Maze Project Update 0.1.5 is here! The focus with this update is mainly on major bug fixes and certain improvements. Major Bug Fixes There have been some major bug fixes regarding the multiplayer. The most notable one was that only the host (the person who created the game) was able to see items, while the other players were not able to see them. Also, when hovering over an item that has been dropped by other players, the item preview would sometimes bug out and not work properly for a while. There were also some synchronization problems that caused the Radio Wall to be visible only to the host. Improvements The Maze One of the major issues was that the maze was too big and thus resulting into the players wandering in the maze for long periods of the time without actually finding anything. Aiming to fix this issue, the size of the maze has been reduced by 25%. This may result in spa…

Rubber Duckie, Evil Duckie, and Vial of Mystery. Rubber Duckie is an item that can alert manifestations when used nearby. Evil Duckie - the more dangerous version of this item - can alert manifestations no matter what the distance is. The Vial of Mystery is an item that can be either drunk or combined with other items. In this case, the Vial of Mystery can be combined with the Rubber Duckie to craft the Evil Duckie. UI Changes and Improvements In the previous u…
