• Discontinuation of Russian Language Support and Apology - 23 October 2024

Today's version 1.1.6 update includes a major change, the removal of Russian from the list of supported languages, alongside minor bug fixes. Until now, I have used machine translation to localize the game, driven by a desire to have as many people as possible enjoy my work. Initially, the game supported Japanese and machine-translated English, and in the recent version 1.1.5, Russian was added. While I did my best to review the English translation, I had no knowledge of Russian, so I regretfully used the machine-translated text as is. As I have become accustomed to reading with machine translation myself, I believed that having more language options would be better, and I still hold this belief. However, I also feared that the translation quality might be poor. Recently, I received feedback from a user pointing out that the Russian text contained discriminatory expressions. I have alwa…

• 1.1.5 Fixed Achievement Bug - 3 July 2024

I apologize for the bug not being fixed despite the repeated updates over the past few times. I regret the prolonged inconvenience, but the "Steam achievement not unlocking bug" has been completely fixed this time. If you have already seen the ending, the achievements will be unlocked on the title screen.

• HOT FIX - 2 July 2024

The bug that prevented players from obtaining the only Steam achievement was still present, so we have fixed it again.

• 1.1.3 Hotfix - 30 June 2024

Fixed an issue where the Steam achievement would not unlock if the game was cleared with all Tips not unlocked due to some reason. Rewrote some Tips as they were uninteresting.

• Hot fix 1.1.2 - 17 June 2024

A typo in the Tips section has been fixed.

• 1.1.1 hotfix - 11 June 2024

  * Fixed an issue where unlocked tips could be read. * Removed the ability to return to the title screen to fix an issue where returning to the title screen during a gear minigame would cause the novel to be skipped.

• Mini-Game Skip & Russian Language Support & more! - 12 May 2024

I'm excited to deliver the first major update news from "Gears Story"! Mini-Game Skip Feature The mini-games, long criticized for their redundancy, can finally be skipped. The function of the highest-priced item, the "Golden Wrench", has been changed as follows: Before: The path to the goal is visualized for 100 moves. After: Becomes inoperable and automatically moves to the goal. Tips Tree Feature Added I have changed the display of the massive number of tips items to a tree view, categorized for easier browsing. Support for Russian Language I have added Russian to the languages supported. Main Visual Change The main visual of the game has been updated with newly drawn pixel art. Here is the full image.

• Release! and notes - 21 March 2024

After 108 days of development, "Gears Story" is finally released! For those who haven't purchased it yet, those who have already purchased it and are about to play, and even those who have already finished it, there's something I want to share. Conclusion: The price of this game will not increase This game includes an "Afterword," and it seems that the way I wrote it was a bit confusing, leading to some misunderstandings among some players. I wrote the following in the Afterword: The next installment, "Shoe-Straings Story," will of course share the same universe and is expected to be more than ten times larger in scale. Accordingly, we plan to revise the pricing, and it will take some time before release. This does NOT mean that "Gears Story" is scheduled for a price increase. It simply means, "While we released this work at $0.99, the lowest price possible on Steam, the next work, 'Sho…
