  We've got a big Demo Update here including a brand new system revolving around Ascension classes. Quite a few things have changed regarding the Ascensions so here goes... Combat Arts now grant Ascension XP each time they're used. You can see in the details which Ascension a combat art contributes XP to for a given Origin. Upgrading a Combat Art during a run will also increase the amount of Ascension XP it earns.When you've earned enough XP you can trigger your Ascension at any time. You can see your progress toward Ascension with the Ascension XP tracker below the hotbar during a run or from the Destiny screen.   Next Fest Demo Feedback Tuning Patch Notes #2 We have another round of tuning and changes here based on player feedback. There is now a Main Menu before loading into the Tavern. You can now use TAB to close and open the Destiny screen. Increased pacing and difficulty throughout all Stages and Difficulty levels. Smoothed out glitchy enemy movement. Made Stabbie Jesters a bit more angry. Reworked Endless Mode to increase difficulty and add a chance for the Bosses to appear in the bonus events. Renamed Meteor Skill to Meteor Storm and buffed it. • Next Fest Demo Feedback Patch - 6 March 2026

  Next Fest Demo Feedback Tuning Patch Notes Thanks to everyone who played the demo and gave us feedback during Next Fest - we've made a few changes based on what was shared with us. When a skill line is unlocked, the player gets immediate Rank 1 access to all skills in that line. An additional accessory slot has been added to allow hero to wear two total. Additional Common rarity affinity accessories have been added to allow for more directed rolls to work towards specific builds. Enemy, hero, and projectile speeds have been increased throughout. "Max Bonus Projectiles" for each skill can now be seen in the Sage screen when selecting a skill. Most skills now have a +1 to "Max Bonus Projectiles" from previous version. • Steam Next Fest Demo Update - 11 February 2026

  Our third demo update is here and features brand new Combat Art Fusions, the Void Breach mid-run Event, New Equipment, a New Ascension for the Astrologer Origin, and more! The Serpent and the Crow will be participating in the upcoming Steam Next Fest on February 23rd.   We've got our second Demo update here to check out! This update adds a new starting Origin called the Astrologer, the Astral Sorcery Combat Art line, new Equipment and visual improvements to the Demon Carnival environment. Thank you to everyone for all the valuable feedback so far! New Origin: The Astrologer This Origin starts with a ranged Knowledge scaling Combat Art called Arcane Missile which rapid fires multiple projectiles dealing Astral type damage.   Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been trying the Demo this week. We thought we would post a little teaser to hint at some of the new content coming to the Demo soon. There are some balance tweaks and bug fixes coming as well.
