  Added new Easy difficulty.   You can now initiate escaping while carrying cursed materials. The escape timer will be extended for the duration of the red bubble, making how curses work much clearer.Curse warp blocking timer is now capped to 4 materials per run (in other words, after collecting 4 cursed materials further cursed materials will no longer extend the escape timer). This is primarily to prevent cases where accumulating many cursed materials in a death bag results in an extremely long curse timer.Reduced Stage 3 bullet melting curse, so you now have enough range to destroy the bomb bugs in the Volcanic Fields while fully cursed. • Release Date Announcement - 27 June 2025

  We're happy to announce that Crab Attack will release on July 11th, 2025. If you played the old demo, we posted recently about many of the changes coming to the full game here. One last change is the new terrain touch system: no longer will crashing your crab into a wall send you to the briny depths. Instead, you'll just get bounced off after a brief grace period:We've also disabled the demo until release. The game has improved a lot, and more importantly, you'll be able to import save data from the new demo into the full game. As such, we thought it best to hold off any future players until it's ready.See you in two weeks!

• Upcoming Changes - 7 March 2025

  Hey everyone. First of all, we'd like to thank all the players who tried the demo during Next Fest. Your feedback has been invaluable in improving the game, and now that we're finally starting to wrap up I'd like to talk about some of the changes resulting from it. Fire Rate / Move Speed We've increased the fire rate across the board for most weapons. This also includes adding on-screen bullet limiting, allowing higher damage when attacking enemies up close with certain weapons. Player move speed has also been increased. The game should feel much more fluid and responsive as a result. While some of these changes were planned as upgrades, it became clear that making the early game feel clunky was a poor choice. • Demo V12 - 4 June 2024

  In response to feedback, we tried to make the first time experience a little smoother. Changes: Tree top area now requires the Angler to enter. Help screen added, more explicitly explaining the flow of the game. It also shows up when starting a new file. Forest area's cave visually changed to look more like a wall. Renamed equipment menu to shop. Replaced "new item" sidebar list with notification icons directly on the return to town button as well as the town's shop button. Light shell is now only -1 HP instead of -5.

• Demo Now Available - 30 May 2024

  The Crab Attack June Next Fest demo is available now. Four challenging bosses, over ten pieces of equipment, two difficulty settings, and your new best crab friend await. A few extra notes: Testers have reported that the game runs great on Steam Deck. We plan on leaving the demo up after Next Fest, so take your time. This is a work in progress. There are still a few rough edges, but we felt it was far enough along to start getting feedback. We look forward to shaping the game together.
