  Полноценная экономическая симуляция в серии космических песочниц от немецкой студии Egosoft долгие годы считалась ключевой визитной карточкой франшизы. Однако в ретроспективном видео, посвященном 25-летию серии, основатель и руководитель компании Бернд Лехан сделал неожиданное признание касательно оригинальной X: Beyond the Frontier 1999 года выпуска. Хваленая живая торговая система космического симулятора на деле оказалась бутафорией для игрока. На заре разработки амбициозного проекта у авторов была цель смоделировать полностью самодостаточную галактику с непрерывным оборотом сырья. В реальности реализовать подобную механику в конце 90-х годов оказалось непосильной задачей из-за нехватки вычислительных мощностей процессоров того времени и чрезмерной сложности математического баланса.   In October 2001, X: Beyond the Frontier graced the cover disc of Computer Bild Spiele (CBS), one of Germany's top-selling print games magazines at the time. Appearing on the cover disc provided enormous visibility, bringing the game into countlessly more homes two years after its initial commercial release and proving to be a pivotal moment in Egosoft's history.To celebrate this 25th anniversary milestone, Egosoft founder and Managing Director Bernd Lehahn takes us behind the scenes in a special German episode of our XLOG video series. • Compatibility update published - 10 November 2021

  We know how passionately you play our games and how many of you enjoy revisiting the beginnings of the X series every now and then. To keep it that way, we have just released small patches for X: Beyond the Frontier (1999) and X-Tension (2000), which now ensure the functionality of both games on Windows 10 and 11. • Steam Cloud Sync Enabled - 28 September 2015

  We are pleased to announce that Steam Cloud support is now enabled for all games in the X series, to bring the older games in line with X Rebirth. Your savegames will now be synchronised across different PCs using the same Steam account by default. If you do not wish to use Steam Cloud to synchronise your games, then right-click on the game in question in the Steam library, choose Properties, go to the Updates tab and uncheck the "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization" checkbox setting. You can, of course, re-enable it at any time if you change your mind. Regards, Egosoft
