- The Bus Life - 26 March 2026
Hey, survivors! We continue our dev diary. Today, we're diving into the bus mechanics and its role in the players' lives. All In The spacious bus interior can fit plenty of passengers. During the zombie apocalypse, there aren't that many passengers, so all the free space goes toward survival needs. All loot found during missions gets stored in the bus. You'll always have to finish missions by getting back to the bus, so anything you take with you will be delivered back to base: All In Combat The bus is more than just a cart with doors. It will regularly come in handy on missions of any difficulty: And when it comes to zombies, an old trick works wonders - ramming straight through: All In Tuning During our playtest, players already got to try out the first bus customization parts - they added extra cargo bags, installed 12 wheels, and modded their yellow monster in every way possible. He…
- We got answers! - 13 March 2026
Hey, survivors! Week after week flies by, and work is in full swing. This week, we'll keep our progress under wraps and instead answer the questions that have been piling up from players. What's the development team's favorite weapon? Long and heated debates within the team led to an unexpected favorite - the trombon shotgun stood out to all of us more than any other. Powerful, loud, and full of character! What other types of weapons will be in the game? We unanimously voted the acid thrower as the most unusual weapon, and the funniest gadget is the saddle hat (yes, you heard that right). Most of the arsenal will be unlocked as you progress through the game: some will drop from completing missions, some will need to be unlocked through research at the base, and others are hidden away in the darkest corners of the world. What can you build at the base? Why gather survivors there? The bas…
- Survival Engineering - 6 March 2026
Hello, Survivors! Another week has passed - which means it’s time to share some development news with you. We won’t spoil any story twists, but we’re happy to show off some new tools and visual effects in this post! Metal Shell The Shield is a tool designed to protect the player from enemy attacks, projectiles, and melee opponents. In its inactive state, it is compact and easily carried in the character’s hand. It is activated by holding the right mouse button. Once activated, it unfolds and creates a protective zone in front of the player. Projectiles cannot pass through the shield, and zombies cannot get close to the player. However, these advantages come at a cost - your movement speed will be reduced, and you won’t be able to jump or perform rolls. Use the shield wisely! A Fatal Step The Mine is a device that can be placed at a selected point in the game world. The installation proc…
- Zombie of all trades - 27 February 2026
Hello, Survivors! While you’re putting the game through its paces in the ongoing playtest, our team is working tirelessly on further development and polishing the project. First of all, we’re excited to share some great news: the voice-over for the main characters of our game is now fully complete! Want to know what else is new and awesome? Let’s dive into this devlog. The Lure Mannequin No, it’s not luring survivors to a sale at the nearest supermarket. And no, it’s not inviting zombies to feast on fresh brains. The “Lure” is a tool designed to attract zombies and redirect their aggression toward itself. To deploy it, select the item from the tool wheel and place it on the ground. While the lure is active, zombies will ignore other triggers. But remember: its effect is limited, and once the device disappears, zombies will switch their attention back to the players. Devastating Firepowe…

- How U Survived? - 6 February 2026
Hello, survivors! Our playtest is in full swing! While players are bashing zombies into the ground and fixing up their buses, our development team is tirelessly fixing bugs - found by you, our wonderful players - and polishing the game for its full release. We've gathered some playtest statistics for you - perhaps you're among these numbers: Over 57,000 players launched the playtest, and more than 70,000 missions were completed in total. Approximately 1,320,000 zombies were defeated, and over 5 million units of resources were collected. Players assembled about 64,000 buses in total - enough for an entire country's fleet! Thanks to feedback on Discord and here on Steam, we've received over 50 suggestions and ideas. We're noting it all down and will take it into account in the future! We are sincerely grateful to everyone for such support! Haven't tried the game yet? No worries - there's…
- BugFix - 31 January 2026
Hello, survivors! We would like to thank all our playtesters for their attention and interest in the game. We are actively monitoring your feedback-bugs, suggestions, and reviews. Thanks to your participation, we have already implemented several improvements: When attempting to install the wheel while aiming, players no longer lose control. Lou is no longer duplicated after replaying her mission. Fixed incorrect display of icons in the bus modifier. Fixed an issue with the weapon fabricator at the base. You can now start a game from a save at the base, and the weapon fabricator will work correctly. If the camera is inverted on the host, turns will now be handled properly for the client. Added Chinese language localization. We remind you that you can share your feedback: On our Discord server. We check it most frequently: https://discord.gg/busbro Via the "Report bug" form in the bottom…

Hello, survivors! The time has come - it's time. Hop into the bus with a crew of up to 4 people and head to Fang Island! A trailer to catch your eye: Playtest Information As we said, this test is meant to identify problem areas in the game, and at the same time - let you discover how the story of the bus begins during the apocalypse. The playtest will last for 2 weeks - we will announce the end a couple of days in advance. Oh no, I found a bug. What should I do? That's the way it should be, thank you! There are several ways to report a bug: On our Discord server. We check this the most: https://discord.gg/busbro Via the Report bug form in the bottom right corner of the main menu. We won't be able to reply if you don't provide an email, but we will still read it! Here, in the comments to this post. In the Steam Discussions. We will see your feedback anywhere! - Extreme Sports - 24 December 2025
Hello, Survivors! We continue working on the game, and this week we focused heavily on stabilizing the prologue. The main focus was refining key mechanics and fixing bugs. The update may not be the most visually noticeable, but it’s crucial for the overall quality and stability of the game. Below is a detailed look at what we worked on this week. Spirit of the Desert We continue bringing the island to life - the place where the game’s events will unfold. This time, the local flora has expanded: tumbleweeds have appeared in the world. You can now encounter them in various locations during your travels (please don’t play football with them, respect the feelings of plants!) Throws We continue to tweak and polish the throwing mechanics: trajectory changes while aiming have been removed. We also added more realism - hitting zombies with objects now stuns them. Checkpoint Activation When the…
- Booms, bangs, sparks - 18 December 2025
Hey, survivors! This week, the team is busy with the visual aspects of the game. We're working on polishing visuals from all angles - animations, locations themselves, and visual effects. We'll tell you more about the latter today. The beauty is in the details Visual effects help make the game world look brighter and react to the player more vividly. That's why we make sure all key gameplay moments have a bright and responsive feedback. To be more specific - we've refined the object destruction effect: Searching memory sticks and other valuable survival resources will now be even more satisfying. We're simultaneously working on effects of various scales - from explosions to melee hits: Every little thing counts Background effects play an equally important role. The team is paying great attention to locations and the atmosphere they convey. The level designers asked to clarify that, besi…
- Fish slap - 2 December 2025
Hello, survivors! Another week of work is behind us. The closer BUS: Bro U Survived gets to release, the more areas we have to work on - from polishing the UI to thorough testing and bug fixing. New weapon: sledgehammer Another addition to the survivors' vast arsenal. The two-handed sledgehammer deals powerful area-of-effect damage. It's perfect for those who find the damage from other, lighter weapons too low. Secondary weapon While expanding the arsenal for players, we often come up with the craziest ideas. We're happy to present you with a versatile melee weapon: a fish! Working on cutscenes The story of Fang Island is an important part of BUS: Bro U Survived. As before, a lot of effort is going into staging the cutscenes. To avoid spoilers, we can't share the context of the cutscene, but we'll still show you how atmospheric it looks: The best way to support the development of BUS is…
- WIP: Character editor overhaul - 18 November 2025
Hello survivors! This week, the dev team's main focus was polishing the UI elements - we're overhauling the interface to create a final, polished version. We also tackled a bunch of other features, including weapons. Let's get right to it. New Weapon: reinforced gloves We're continuing to expand the arsenal available to survivors. Next up: massive metal boxing gloves. Unlike the spear, the knuckles let you close the distance and easily fight off a zombie horde at almost point-blank range. Updated Character Editor The zombie apocalypse is no excuse for bad dressing! The updated character editor lets you fine-tune your survivor's appearance with incredible precision - each of the 4 teammates will now stand out and shine. UI Updates Continue As part of the interface overhaul, we've given several more screens a facelift. This time, we've revamped the lobby connection and mission selection w…
- WIP: Birds and spears - 10 November 2025
Hello survivors! We have a lot of exciting updates this week. The development team is busy working on several fronts - from gameplay elements to cosmetic polishing of the locations. Birds! Fang Island is home to a rich wildlife. Players will be able to spot various animals, from birds to lizards. If you want to observe them, you'll need to be careful - the animals will run away from players and are scared of loud noises, especially gunshots. Don't worry, they can't be harmed. The Spear We're expanding the melee arsenal. You can now keep a safe distance from the zombie horde with an improvised spear. Like many other weapons, it can be crafted at your base. UI Overhaul We're continuing our work on the UI stylization. This time, it's the main menu's turn. We've moved away from standard buttons in favor of using in-game photos: The settings menu has also been redesigned. Our goal was to mak…
- To the Steam Scream Fest! - 27 October 2025
Hello survivors! Buckle up and hold on tight - our bus is back on the road, and we’ve got two big updates for you! Here’s what we’ve already done - and what we’re still working on. UI Markers on the Map To make navigation easier, we’ve added clear markers that show the way to your parked bus, the direction to active quests, and your teammates’ locations. No more confusion! Checkpoints We’re refining the respawn and checkpoint logic. Our goal: make death fair but punishing, and getting back into…
- WIP: zombies, bugs, zombies - 16 October 2025
Hello survivors! We're hard at work on the boss fights and fleshing out the locations where the Prologue's action will take place. Right now, we're in the most crucial phase: bringing all the pieces together. We're making sure every detail slots into its place and the game starts working like a single, cohesive mechanism. It's like assembling a puzzle where every piece has a role to play. Squashing Bugs Game development and bug fixing go hand in hand. As we prepare for the playtest, we've squashed a couple of important issues. We fixed a situation where the player would hit themselves in the head with a bottle while trying to throw it: And along with that, we've added aim assist (like auto-aim, but not as overpowered) and smoother animations. Lobbing junk is now convenient, satisfying, and effective: Cutscenes Work on the cutscenes is also in full swing. Story sequences are just as impo…
- Riposte - 8 October 2025
Hello survivors! The playtest is getting closer, and the island is heating up. Every day brings a new threat, a new fight, and a new chance to prove who the real predator is. It's for moments like these that we've overhauled the melee combat system. Here’s what awaits you in the updated version. The island's zombies are a serious threat - they attack, spit, and... explode. They even cooperate, using special attack tactics! To stand a chance against these surprisingly smart zombies, a massive arsenal alone isn't enough (by the way, we talked about our arsenal here, go check it out). Each survivor's personal skills are crucial. Dodges Agility is your greatest weapon against the clumsy horde! Dodge projectiles, explosions, and zombie claws. Besides being obviously effective in any combat situation, it also looks pretty cool: Counterattacks If dodging fails, you can save yourself from a zom…
