- Version 1.1.2 - No More Butt Armor - 8 September 2025
In version 1.1, I introduced a new mechanic of forward-facing armor that only applies when a shot hits the front third of your ship. Since then, there have been reports of it not quite working correctly. Well, today I got around to investigating these reports and indeed, I made a basic vector math mistake and the forward-facing armor was applied to the back third of the ship, not the front. Oops. Fixed now! I also added a little icon next to the damage numbers for when the front armor actually triggers, so you can see it working:
- Version 1.1.1 - 5 September 2025
Increased armor of Sky Fortress from 1 to 2. Reduced number of Devil Circle projectiles from 4 to 3. Reduced number of Great Devil Circle projectiles from 7 to 5. Halved the time that scavenger escorts are slowed down after picking up wreckage. Increased the chance of encountering Nomad Caravans. Fixed Can't Touch This achievement. And since pretty much everyone is busy with Silksong today, it's a great time to bury news! So I'll be increasing the price of Airships: Heroes and Villains, I may announce a second Airships: Conquer the Skies DLC soon, and also I'm the Zodiac Killer.
- Steampunk auto-shooter Airships: Lost Flotilla gets a big free content update - 19 August 2025
Airships: Lost Flotilla is a really good auto-shooter taking elements from survivor-like bullet hells and it just had a big free content expansion. Read the full article here: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2025/08/steampunk-auto-shooter-airships-lost-flotilla-gets-a-big-free-content-update/
- Farther Skies Update - 14 August 2025
Here's the promised content update for Lost Flotilla! After the release, I inevitably thought of some more things that it would be cool to add to the game, which is why we're here. The update adds six new ships, for example the Carrier. It's quite sluggish and doesn't have many weapons, but it makes up for this by having two modules that spawn escorts. The new ships get unlocked over time, as you defeat the new enemies. The game also now tells you how many ships you have left to unlock. Speaking of enemies, there's several new enemy sets and associated manual pages to research. There's new aerial wildlife like legionnaire jellies and giant flying crabs, as well as new people to meet and fight. One particularly cool new set of enemies is the aerial jungle, which is bursting with horrible life like sky roses and giant mosquitoes. There's also new weapons, like the slow-firing but powerful…
- Airships: Lost Flotilla is 25% off for Steam Summer Sale! ☀️🛩️ - 26 June 2025
Airships: Lost Flotilla is part of the Steam Summer Sale, and you can currently get it for 25% off. If you’ve been thinking about picking it up, now’s a really good time: This will be the last time the game is this cheap for a long while. Once the sale ends on July 10, I’ll be raising the price to better reflect the scope of the upcoming major update. You might remember I announced the update a little while ago: I’m still hard at work on it, and it’s turning into something substantial. Expect more content, improvements across the board, and a shiny set of Steam achievements to aim for. So if you want to get Airships: Lost Flotilla at its lowest price, now’s the time. And if you already have it: thank you! I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
- V1.0.9 - Accessibility, Bug Fixes - 5 May 2025
Here's a quick update before the big content update. I wanted to make the game more accessible, especially to colorblind players. The big problem was that enemy shots are red and a lot of the background is green, which made them near-invisible if you can't distinguish red/green. For example, try to spot the grenade in this picture. To improve on this, I've added a dark outline to enemy shots, and I've also added two optional highlighting modes. These reduce the saturation of most of the graphics but color enemies and shots red, and wreckage either blue or green. Comparison of standard graphics with highlighting mode. This should help a variety of players who want clearer visuals. You can also combine this with reduced background visibility and deactivate particles, etc to get visuals that are easier to see. Full list of updates: Enemy shots now have a dark outline. Added color highlight…
- New Enemies, New Ships, More Chaos! Content Update Incoming! - 28 April 2025
Now that the most pressing bugs have been fixed, I've started work on a large content update for Lost Flotilla. This is basically all the stuff I wanted to put into the game but ran out of time for, plus some new ideas that have come up. The main addition will be several new enemy types, which you can see being constructed and destructed here: Apart from that, I'm also planning to add a few new weapons and modules, achievements, as well as variant versions for player ships. As always, all of this will also be moddable. When that update hits later this year, I also plan to increase the game's price from $5.99 to $8.99. But conveniently for you, dear reader, the game is currently off 25%...
- Version 1.0.8 - 14 March 2025
Fixes and Adjustments Fixed plink damage being unable to kill players, which means getting enough armor no longer makes you invulnerable. Grenades and flak guns now have fuses, which means that they will explode once they've reached the distance to their intended target. Increased reload time of flak gun from 0.6 to 0.8 seconds. If you restart a wave after dying, empty weapon slots are no longer refilled with weapons from the starting version of your ship. Damage dealt is now added up correctly in post-wave stats. Shot speed changes no longer affect range. Added mods screen translations. Modding Manual entries can now unlock multiple things. Use e.g. unlockWeapons instead of unlockWeapon with a list of weapons to unlock. Added fuse flag to WeaponType. Added levelStartScrap and playerShotSpeedPc to EquipmentType. The game now uploads the correct English name and description for mods even…
- Version 1.0.7 & Modding & Workshop Support - 28 February 2025
Mods are here! With this update, you can now create mods for the game and subscribe to them via the Steam Workshop. There are already a number of example mods and some first mods made by beta testers. How to get mods Go to the workshop Subscribe to the mods you want Launch Airships: Lost Flotilla Go into the mods screen Enable the mods you want to use Hit Apply How to make mods Consult the extensive modding documentation Join the discord to get help and community Bugfixes This update also fixes some minor bugs: Selecting Brother Zinn and then hitting escape in the difficulty selection now resets the ship selector properly. Remaining time in On Dragons research is now shown correctly. There is now an upper limit to the number of Shellflies the Shellfloater spawns. You can no longer have more than one monocoque upgrade. That would be a uh, polycoque, which makes no sense. What's next? I'm…
- Version 1.0.6 & Modding Beta - 15 February 2025
You can now fight the final boss with the assistance of the church, which gives you a Great Blessing, which gives +40% HP, +10% reload speed, +10% escort reload speed. Showing piercing amount on weapons. Gun Skyboats and other escorts no longer go so close to their enemies that their shots miss. More visible non-OS cursor. Can no longer ram enemies that are still spawning. Laine's ability now works for all control schemes. The Exterminator's accuracy decrease is now shown properly in the ship stats. Upgrading wrecker escorts is no longer free. Went over fire damage per time and resistances for all enemies and bosses. Further performance improvements. May have fixed stutter happening during screen shake caused by gamepad issues. Also, the modding support is now in beta! If you'd like to try out modding the game, switch to the "modding-beta" branch in Steam, join this group to be able to…
- Upcoming Modding Support - 5 February 2025
Now that the post-release dust has settled, I'm working on adding modding and workshop support to Airships: Lost Flotilla. You'll be able to add and modify existing weapons, player ships, equipment, and more. My previous game had extensive mod support, so I'm building on my experience to build on its strengths and avoid some pitfalls. For now, you can read the work in progress modding documentation here, or discuss modding the game on the Discord. And again, thank you for all your support, feedback, and kind words.
- Version 1.0.5 - 2 February 2025
Stelas work again. Improved performance. Higher contrast for selecting map nodes. Lord Brizendine no longer makes explosive weapons piercing, which caused them to not actually, you know, explode. Fixed two puzzles in the manual. If you're looking for clues, have another try at the traitors and the moons. Happy year of the snake!
- Version 1.0.4 - 1 February 2025
Fixes Flak gun now indicates that it stuns enemies. Wrecker Mothership fight no longer decreases pirate rep. Clearer Greed Stela text: the enemies need to be in the stela radius, not you. Shredder Saw Mk2 now does more damage than Shredder Saw. "Win with a turn rate of at least 300 degrees per second" unlock now works. Fixed appearance of reduced background visibility on high resolutions. Damage bonus now applies to tentacles. Tentacles should no longer become weirdly huge and disconnected after a while. Tentacles now knock enemies away consistently. If you have lots of possible screen resolutions, this no longer breaks the settings screen layout. Ram damage bonus on struts no longer shown for ships that can't have a ram. XP gain modifiers on amulets no longer shown for the Clockwork Cruiser. Balance Explosions are now more effective against minibosses and bosses. Increased tentacle dam…
