• Scarlet Backrooms: Behind The Camcorder Effect. - 28 July 2026

  Kinda wanted to do a little bit of an overview on how the game ended up looking like that in the first place. First i've added fog (my beloved-) then the silly foliage- ok for real though allow me to show you a little video i found that changed the visuals overnight. This is a video of someone recreating a Dreamy digicam/ camcorder from the 2000's. and i also had a reference in real life. an actual panasonic camcorder. specifically the panasonic sdr-s15 camcorder. so most of my references are from my panasonic camcorder but the blueprint was the video i mentioned! :3 why go into such depths when the game isnt even that long or doesnt look exactly as i thought it'd be? because i care about looks. but now i understand what to make the best out of gameplay and visuals together. it always have been a struggle to make such visually stunning games with enjoyable gameplay (prominent in literal…

An exploration mode tailored to the "poolrooms" within the scarlet backrooms universe. Notes will be scattered around the map for lore and or clues to escape. Optimization and Bug Fixing will be included with every update.

• Demo Upload Error - 3 July 2026

  I sincerely apologize for the late post but there’s an ongoing issue with the demo EXE File not opening and i’ll redo the demo file AND set up some stuff so it actually works for anyone trying to test out the game.In the meantime i shall thank those who tried the full game and supporting me in my game dev journey

• Full Game Has Been Released. - 27 June 2026

  Hello everyone. Not Everyone will get the game (or enjoy it as much as others) but i want to say this project means to me a lot in the visuals. and now i see a bit of the issue. i may not be built for 3d games. but i try. i'll focus more on gameplay in future projects and i promise to give you guys an enjoyable experience. it isn't about me apologizing for me being rushed. i took my time. i decided what goes through the process. it's a sudden realization that has been achieved only through this game. if you enjoyed the game, thank you. if you didnt. let me know why. there will be an update sooner or later with a new mode to sort of deepen the lore. and uhm. exploration. anyways try the demo and if you like it, buy the full version~

• FINAL DEMO UPDATE 1.2.1 - 21 May 2026

  This update marks the endgame of this project. A Massive stretch in the development. Some few changes here and there- - Introduction Level - Controls - Bug Fixing and Collision Fixing - New Music - New entity - you can actually die- Take your sweet time to enjoy the changes :3 And this was actually supposed to release yesterday on my birthday as a thank u (turned 23 oo) But Unreal Got Other Issues. Glad i got that sorted today so you guys get to enjoy!

• Final Demo Update Coming very soon - 10 May 2026

  Hello Everyone. I've been brainstorming, making new models and music for the game as it's inching closer to completion. one thing to note as well is animations. they're going to be simple walking animations since some entities arent visible when you look away (aka weeping angels) but for the demo im gonna focus more on the storyline and when the full game comes out it'll pose more for entities trying to kill you. 10 days from now. Final demo update. Few changes here and there for the starting level and we good.

• Scarlet Backrooms Full release details - 1 April 2026

  Hello everyone!As most of you either hated the levels or thought it was boring as shit i've come to announce that with the full release coming this summer the demo will get an update with the stuff made for the full experience!One of the changes is the first backrooms level which got a whole makeover level design wise.Secondly i've modeled some more entities and props to bring life into the levels rather than just empty ass hallways and rooms.Third, i've seen the issue where the 'table' entity locks onto you and basically softlocks you into a wall. You can either redo the level Or wait for a patch. (Afterall the save files do come handy sometimes.)And here's a nice little treat for you guys!

  Hello fellow survivors.To everyone who's experienced the demo, thank you.For everyone who experienced the demo and had complaints (mainly about a table entity that left the player get stuck in a wall on the third level)Im listening carefully. Watching more of the issues pile up before i commit to an update and make a more meaningful patch.This new upcoming update will not only fix the issue but also add a neat little puzzle instead of the entity.More unique puzzles will be made for the future and most likely make it more complex as time goes on.How complex? Unsure but better than having nothing to do if i were to be honest.Also its gonna reduce the amount of levels because i want to keep things secret~Anyways expect the update to drop in a few days!

• Scarlet Backrooms 2000's Visual Change - 9 January 2026

  Hello! I've decided to switch up the whole visual aesthetic of scarlet backrooms!Instead of VHS i've switched to the 2000's dreamy camcorders (cameras)The screenshots will change and you guys within a few weeks get to play the demo for this game till im fully done with the game!This visual change breaks the mold of VHS Backrooms games and goes for a more 2000's Visual Aesthetic that many people seem to overlook!There's more screenshots that await but fear not i have captured at least a few to give you a little sneak peek on the visual change Consider this a 2026 gift from me and see you all in a few days! (Also say bye bye to the playtest)
