- Demo Patch Notes #4 - 4 August 2025
Our latest hotfix includes the following changes: The player should no longer be able to freely lock/unlock locks without owning a key first (picking locks is still possible); The player will no longer get ambushed while unconscious; Liquid containers are now (finally) fully functional; Dropping items on the ground in the open world will now correctly spawn a searchable object at the player's feet; (This currently doesn't work while the player is inside locations); The "Drinking Buddies" quest should now correctly interact with the player's inventory Gunter should now correctly retrieve the lance barrel from the player when the quest is complete Thank you for all your reports - keep them coming so we can make Lorn Vale as smooth as the desert sands. ~ Gritty Games

Thank you for your continued support of our demo! The following fixes are save game compatible: Fixed a crash when stealing the last item in a stack. Fixed leather flask not holding liquids. Empty bottles are now containers and can now hold liquids; (Newly generated worlds will replace "Empty bottle" with "Glass bottle"). Iron chest plate armor rating value changed from 20 to 5. Fixed scrap and stone pickaxe not functioning as pickaxes. Dryrock guards should no longer get stuck while patrolling. Added a screen shake toggle option in the Escape Menu. Crafting UI now correctly indicates the type and level of crafting/cooking station the player is using. Using the camp kit now deploys a camp with a bed, a stash and a campfire. Thank you for playing our demo and reporting the bugs you've encountered. Below is a list of fixes we've implemented. --TAVERNS-- All Tavern fixes require a new save game. Taverns now contain a "Lodgings" sublocation. These have a high comfort modifier and always spawn a bed. Coins are now properly transfered to Tavern keeper's inventory when paying for a room (And can be stolen back). Fixed Bounty contracts not properly rewarding blueprints and mutation elixirs. Fixed Pact Broker's bounty board appearing while trading with the Pact Broker. Fixed a crash that could occur if the player talks to the Tavern Keeper outside of the Tavern. --LIQUIDS AND DRINKING-- The player can now properly gather liquids from any liquid source. Our first hot fix for the Lorn Vale demo is now live. Below you can see what we've fixed. Fixes compatible with your save game Auto-saves now occur after a successful combat encounter and not at the start of each dialogue. Fixed Shrine object missing visuals. Fixed rare world generation crash related to location party spawning Fixed Sand Crystal formation not properly rewarding Sand Crystals Fixed missing icon for Buried Crate Key. All item tooltips are now properly sized (Weight text no longer floats out of bounds). Melee weapon and armor tooltips now properly display several stats (based on the item). Hey, It's time for an update on what's going on with Lorn Vale's Closed Playtest. It's been a while since the announcement of the game.
