  • Оригинальный голос Солид Снейка хочет ещё одну Metal Gear - 5 October 2026

  • This wild mod for Metal Gear Solid 5 massively expands its Subsistence system and makes enemies learn new tactics within missions rather than across them - 18 October 2025

Metal Gear Solid 5 isn't exactly short of options for approaching its open-ended stealth scenarios. But encouraging players to use every tool at their disposal can be difficult once they've found a loadout that they like. Its Subsistence rule was one of Kojima's solutions to this, allowing players to re-enter previous missions without a specific loadout and forcing them to scavenge weapons and equipment on the fly... • Hideo Kojima Hints Metal Gear Solid V Was An “Unfinished Masterpiece” - 3 September 2025

Due to a new posting on social media, Hideo Kojima may have inadvertently confirmed that his version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was unfinished. It’s no secret prolific video game maker, Hideo Kojima, likes to do two things: post on social media and tease fans, and today he may have done both. In a new post on X (formerly Twitter), Kojima posted a published article from Inverse that’s titled “10 Years Later, Hideo Kojima’s Unfinished Masterpiece Is Still Influencing Today’s Games,” which implies Kojima believes Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is an ‘unfinished masterpiece.’ The post can be seen below. 10 Years Later, Hideo Kojima’s Unfinished Masterpiece Is Still Influencing Games Today https://t.co/7LgnQrqU7c — 小島秀夫 (@Kojima_Hideo) September 3, 2025 Kojima has been in the headlines many times recently following the success of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach . • What if: Kojima made Metal Gear Solid 6, and it was a horror game? - 8 January 2022

We remember Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for lots of things. An unfinished conclusion, answers to questions no one really asked, and a woefully underused Keifer Sutherland displacing David Hayter's iconic growl in Snake's shoes are all among them, and perhaps better forgotten. But let's not forget the blood-curdling prologue. Years after its release, Snake's awakening in a Cyprus hospital that's being attacked by a ruthless hit squad remains one of the most captivating openings in the series. It's carefully paced and thick with the kind of tension you'd expect from a classic horror game , and there's even a pair of mysterious supernatural assailants that haunt Snake like menacing phantoms. After the hype surrounding P.T., Kojima's playable teaser for the since-cancelled Silent Hills, it was clear that he longed to explore the horror genre. He's no stranger to scary material, whe…

  • Rumour: Castlevania "reimagining" and a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake in the works - 3 October 2021

According to a new report, Konami is looking to revive three of its major franchises - Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill - with help from external developers. These would include a "reimagining" of Castlevania series and a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. This is all according to a report by VGC , which says that multiple "publishing sources" at Konami have told them of various projects in the words. Rumours of new Silent Hill games have been doing the rounds for a while now, for starters, with The Medium developer Bloober Team specifically not denying that it was working on a Silent Hill title. However, it's the other two franchises that are more interesting. VGC's sources report a "reimagining" of Castlevania is on the way from Konami itself, with support from local Japanese studios. The Castlevania Advance Collection just launched a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully that's an…

  • Metal Gear Solid movie to star Oscar Isaac as Solid Snake - 4 December 2020

Oscar Issac has been cast as Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film adaptation. The actor, who played pilot Poe Dameron in the latest Star Wars trilogy and Duke Leo Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's upcoming adaptation of Dune, has been attached to the Sony Pictures production along with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who helmed Kong: Skull Island and directed the New Legends Will Rise trailer for Destiny 2. Sources confirmed Isaac's role in the production to Deadline , which further reports that the script is being handled by Derek Connolly, a writer whose credits include Detective Pikachu and The Rise of Skywalker. He also worked with Vogt-Roberts as a writer for Kong: Skull Island. While the news may come as a surprise, it's worth noting that Isaac has made no secret of his love of the Metal Gear Solid series. During a cast interview about the Netflix film Triple Frontier, Isa…

  • After five years, players finally unlocked Metal Gear Solid V's secret ending - 28 July 2020

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pai n has a secret ending that only unlocks when every single player of the game has eliminated nuclear weapons from their in-game bases. While the cutscene triggered on PC as a result of a glitch two years ago, it's never been unlocked legitimately - until this week. Each version of MGS5 has a separate nuke counter, which you can track through the fan-made nuke watcher site . The PlayStation 3 version finally dipped down to the magic number of zero on July 27. While the nuke count quickly bounced back up to 40, the total disarmament lasted long enough for the special cutscene to trigger and be captured, as you can see below. Community efforts, like those on the Metal Gear anti-nuclear subreddit , have been pushing to legitimately earn the disarmament scene for ages, across every platform. The Steam version of MGS5 still has nearly 20,000 nukes, while the…

  • Here's a Metal Gear Solid 5 mod that makes shadows much nicer - 17 July 2020

Sure, plenty of us are ogling over Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding , which has finally gotten a PC port - and a damn good one, at that. But 2015's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is still a pretty decent-looking game at times, even if it tends to look a bit dusty and flat out in the mountains of Afghanistan. Part of that is due to how near to the player the Fox Engine stops drawing shadows, and now there's a fix that can make scenes pop nicely without doing a number on your performance. Titled the 'Beyond Ultra' mod, it removes some of the limitations and LOD settings on plants and shadows, and can actually add in new ones if you're so inclined. As the comparison screenshots at NexusMods show, even at Extra High graphics settings, there's a pretty quick dropoff in shadow rendering in MGS5. Beyond Ultra does a few things to correct the flat look at medium and far distances. First, it…

What would a Metal Gear Solid movie look like if worked on by the visual artists at ILM? As the years pass and the reality of a Metal Gear film feels less and less likely, we have at least got a glimpse at what could have been. Step up Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of Kong: Skull Island and self-professed Metal Gear Solid fan, who has been linked to the missing in action Metal Gear Solid movie for more than six years. Over the past week, Vogt-Roberts has been sharing work from visual effects studio ILM concepting ideas for his Metal Gear Solid movie plans. Oh, and he kicked the whole thing off with a new codec video featuring Mr. Snake himself, David Hayter. Read more

Short description

Ushering in a new era for the METAL GEAR franchise with cutting-edge technology powered by the Fox Engine, METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain, will provide players a first-rate gaming experience as they are offered tactical freedom to carry out open-world missions.

About this game

Konami Digital Entertainment continues forth the ‘METAL GEAR SOLID V Experience’ with the latest chapter, METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain. Ushering in a new era for the franchise with cutting-edge technology powered by the Fox Engine, MGSV: The Phantom Pain will provide players a first-rate gaming experience as they are offered tactical freedom to carry out open-world missions. Nine years after the events of MGSV: GROUND ZEROES and the fall of Mother Base, Snake a.k.a. Big Boss, awakens from a nine year coma. The year is 1984. The Cold War serves as the backdrop as nuclear weapons continue to shape a global crisis. Driven by revenge, Snake establishes a new private army and returns to the battlefield in pursuit of the shadow group, XOF. The METAL GEAR SOLID team continues to ambitiously explore mature themes such as the psychology of warfare and the atrocities that result from those that engage in its vicious cycle. One of the most anticipated games of the year with its open-world design, photorealistic visual fidelity and feature-rich game design, MGSV: The Phantom Pain will leave its mark as one of the hallmarks in the gaming industry for its cinematic storytelling, heavy themes, and immersive tactical gameplay. Key Features: - Open-World game design allowing players ultimate freedom on how to approach missions and overall game progression - Fox Engine delivers photorealistic graphics, thoughtful game design and true new-generation game production quality - Online connectivity that carries the experience beyond the consoles to other devices to augment the overall functionality and access to the game.

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Oct 6, 2026 to Oct 6, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $19.99
  • Highest observed: $19.99

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN's USD price history spans from Oct 6, 2026 to Oct 6, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $19.99, the highest is $19.99, and the first visible tracked price is $19.99. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $19.99, from Oct 6, 2026 through Oct 6, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $19.99. The latest run records $19.99 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $19.99
  • Current list price: $19.99
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN at $19.99 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
