• Playtesting Continues! - 3 November 2025

  Greetings Fellow Effigies!So as many may know, we started our playtest in the middle of October with the intent of testing many of our systems on a broader scale, finding bugs, and seeing what the community thought of what we have been working on. And the response has been absolutely overwhelming. We cannot thank everyone enough for coming and trying out our game and leaving feedback and helping us get the game to a better place. We were planning on originally briefly taking down the playtest at the end of October to give us enough time to clean up bugs and prepare for our next big playtest where we roll out our co-op for testing, but due to the amazing response from everyone, we have decided to keep it up for now. • How does combat work in Steel Effigy? - 13 May 2024

  In this announcement I want to just give an overview of what combat is like in Steel Effigy. Our combat consists of 3 main parts. Weapons During combat, you wield multiple weapons that each have their own type of specialty. You can swap weapons at any time and continue the attack chain in the other weapon, keeping the flow going. The weapons act similar to a class in other games. Some weapons are better at controlling enemies, some are better at surviving and soaking up damage, while others are better at sustained damage output. Augments Augments are upgrades that are placed on weapons to enhance a weapon with a specific element, like fire, ice and lightning. Once a weapon has gotten an augment, it will start summoning elemental abilities when used in combat. Multiple augments can be slotted into weapons, increasing their total power even more.   Introducing the Gauntlets! Get up close and personal and knock your enemies across the battlefield with these mobility/control based weapons! Weapons form the backbone of our combat system. At the beginning of a run, players will choose a loadout of unique weapons that all behave different, have their own special abilities and weapon passives, that together, form your 'class'. Gauntlets are focused on efficiently moving around the battlefield, crowd controlling enemies while delivering explosive damage to any unlucky adversaries.
