- Update notes for 1.0.20260906 - New AI - 6 September 2026
I've completely revamped the AI, it's now faster at higher strength and takes a more realistic racing line, which should make racing a lot more fun and challenging. All categories should benefit from this update, specially on tricky tracks (I'm looking at you COTA). Fixed: CTD bug in the workshop menu.
- Update notes for 1.0.20260903 - 3 September 2026
Hi! This is the first update after 1.0, with added features and bug fixes from your reports. Thanks for all the feedback and fantastic reviews that you are sharing.I wanted to let you know that I'm focusing on improving the AI, as I tweaked it to avoid going off track on some tricky corners, it ended up being slow for really fast players. I've made some progress but it still needs a lot of testing in very different type of tracks so I don't make a step forward and two backwards. I should have news about this soon. If you want to test it out before everyone else, come by the Discord channel.ChangelogNew: you can increase headlight range for cars though the options menuFixed: AI leaves more space for the player when running side by side (this decreases with AI difficulty)Renamed Career Mode to Story Mode as it was generating some confusions (sorry, English is not my native language)Fixed:…
- Pretend Cars Racing 2 — 1.0 and Beyond - 31 August 2026
With today’s update, Pretend Cars Racing 2 is officially out of Early Access! The game is now packed with all the features I originally promised — and quite a few more along the way. ;) We’re also reaching 1.0 a little earlier than originally planned, which makes this milestone even more special. But 1.0 is by no means the end of Pretend Cars Racing 2. I already have more content and features planned and in development, and I’m excited to keep improving and expanding the game.I’d like to give a special thank you to everyone who supported the game throughout Early Access. Your feedback, suggestions, and encouragement have made a huge difference and kept me motivated to keep pushing the game forward. As a solo developer, seeing this game grow from an idea into what it is today has been an incredible journey. Having you along for the ride has meant more to me than you know.Thank you for being…
- Update notes for 0.9.20260825 - 25 August 2026
Improved the dynamic racing line and tweaked AI speeds while cornering, which makes racing more challenging at higher difficulties Fixed: when duplicating tracks in the track builder, some objects and custom colors were not being copied
- Update notes for 0.9.20260823 - 23 August 2026
This new update has two bug fixes and some AI improvements. Fixes - during night races, the rewind screen was showing as daylight - new real time position method (the old one was a little bit wonky, specially when crossing the start/finish line) There are several small tweaks to the AI. When I tried to make it faster, it was spinning a lot in T1 at Monza (who doesn't?), the corkscrew at Laguna Seca and some other very tight corners. Now its more balanced and it brakes more gradually when approaching curves. As always, there is still room for improvement with the AI, but I think its a step in the right direction.
- Update notes for 0.9.20260819 - 19 August 2026
There is now a minigame on race starts, were you get a boost/penalty if you keep your revs in the right range. I'd love if you could tell me what you think about it. There is also a way in the options menu to turn it off/on. This version also includes an improved race line for the AI, it is generated dynamically, so it also works for workshop items ; ) This update includes a series of small fixes and improvements: Small AI tweaks to improve slow cornering New: during championships, drivers use the same livery in all races Improved sensor placement for offroad detection Improved decoration traffic behavior New method to retrieve leaderboards (with cache) Fixed: Corrected a CTD in the Championship menu when using user made tracks for the custom championships Performance improvements (tweaks when emitting particles and more efficient methods) Fixed: Grass was not affecting acceleration of…

- Custom Championships, Improved AI and 20-Car Grids - 12 June 2026
The June update has grown well beyond its original scope. Alongside the addition of Custom Championships—including support for user-created content—Version 0.7 introduces major improvements to AI behavior and race grids. The biggest change is a substantial overhaul of the AI. Computer-controlled drivers now have a much better awareness of their surroundings—not just other cars, but also track limits—allowing them to make smarter overtaking decisions and avoid unnecessary collisions. Race starts have also been improved, resulting in cleaner launches and more competitive opening laps. While the AI will continue to evolve, its current state has made it possible to significantly increase grid sizes in both single-class and multi-class races. You can now race with up to 20 cars on track at once. While things can still get a little chaotic from time to time, full-grid races with dynamic day-nig…

- Version 0.3 is live: rewind time! - 31 March 2026
The first planned big update is live and ahead of schedule! With this new version, you can now rewind time during single-player races. To keep things square, this feature is blocked during multi-player and leaderboard runs. For the time being, you have unlimited rewinds available, but I’m deciding if there will be some specific number of flashbacks per race. If you want to share your view, join the Discord server and have a chat with the community! Small updates recapBetween the big, planned updates, there will be some smaller ones. Here is a summary of these updates since the release in Early Access:AI difficulty now goes up to 120%When AI is above 100%, they will take curves more aggressively, attacking the kerbs and using inertia better in tighter turns. - Push the Limits: AI Difficulty Now Reaches 120% - 21 March 2026
If you felt that you needed a tougher challenge while racing, we’ve got great news for you. With this new update, the range of the AI can go up to 120%. At this higher setting, you will see them taking curves more aggressively, attacking the kerbs and using inertia better in tighter turns. Their top speed remains unchanged, so the fight is fair, but you will need to maintain your focus on every turn to avoid losing the pace of the leader’s pack. There are more improvements coming to the AI, as it still is overly aggressive towards the player in certain situations. We are trying different approaches to their decision making and we will update their behavior once we are happy with the results and fine tuning. Hope you have a great time fighting the AI! Join us on the discussion boards here in Steam or on our Discord server and share your thoughts about the game, so we can improve it with…
