Remember Ryse? Crytek's 2013 Xbox One launch title was a good-looking but brutally short third-person sword and shield combat game that was designed to show off what Microsoft's new console could do. But it wasn't always so. Initially, Ryse was meant to be an Xbox 360 game. Then, before it was known as Ryse, it was known as Codename Kingdoms. And it was not third-person, but first-person. A recently unearthed prototype of Codename Kingdoms shows us how Ryse looked in this early form. Highlights for this release are the ability to turn of the HUD (we can't wait to see your screenshots in the Community Hub) as well as Controller Rumble (this change being directly based on community feedback). We have also made further improvements to performance and stability, as you can see from our full Release Notes: SLI/Crossfire optimization & quality improvements Improved GPU performance on NVIDIA cards, especially for GTX980/970 versions Fixed potential crash when running the game in resolutions higher than 1080p Fixed graphical corruption on nVidia when running in resolutions higher than 1080p Fixed a bug that occurred on low framerate which prevented the door to open in Pax Romana Fixed a bug that allowed Legendary difficulty to be selected with mouse even though it is not unlocked Made…

Hey all, if you already had the chance to play Ryse after it went live earlier today, you might have encountered an issue where the game lost your save, forcing you to restart the campaign when rebooting. This issue was due to a problem with the syncing of save games between your game and the Steam Cloud. We have just released a Hotfix to address this issue, so you will once again be able to save both locally and in the Cloud, as intended. It will also help gamers who reported issues with certain Checkpoints after dying. Unfortunately, it is not possible to retrieve previously lost saves, and affected users will have to start the campaign anew.
