We will be doing more similar updates on various topics in the future, so feel free to follow along on our journey all the way to release! Why procedural generation? Simply put: replayability. Procedurally generated open world provides players a vast array of replayable content, as there is always a sense of discovery on a new player hosted server. We also feel that in today’s ’meta’ gaming environment, players are feeling more and more pressure to play games in an efficient way. This can pressure players to search for certain locations online, in fear of playing the game ’wrong’, therefore losing the sense of discovery and adventure.
