Hi there! The fun thing about datacenters are racks, and currently the game doesn't support stacking devices on top of each other. That is not fun, so I added that. In order to do it I needed to re-design the devices, since currently they are not "stackable". For example this is the Load Balancer and the new design:I'm not decided on the colour yet, but I like the simple design. I didn't gave a second thought for the router and firewall and just copy-pasted the same design: That means the server now looks weird, since it looks like a desktop PC rather than a stackable server. I think it'll be fun to stack servers as well, so I added another colour for servers:It was fun stacking these devices and connecting them with cables:Devices internal logicFor the router I added a basic routing table. I don't like it as the final version but for now it gets the job done. The idea is not to be a "re…

Hi there! I've been working on some levels for this game, and trying to think how the leveling system works. The graphics are rough, but that's ok for now. I'll polish things when the mechanics are working.A new game save slot will start the basic level. I took some inspiration from Bloons Tower Defense and added a "play" button below. Each time you press it a new wave of packets appears. If you get too many dropped packets, you lose.Players need to think how to connect devices in order to achieve packet efficiency. And waves get harder and harder.

Hi there! I've been working hard on this game during my off-hours. Here are some in-game content I'd like to share.Cable physicsCable physics was the most difficult thing I had to do for this game. I tried so many things:Using a pre-rendered tube with multiple sections.Using Line3D nodes.Using external addons I randomly found on the Godot Asset Library. In the end I read about Verlet integration, gave it a very rough try and ended up being the thing I wanted. It's a procedural "rope" that follows the mouse and it's anchored in one point to a port. I'm pretty happy with how it looks and feels right now, although it obeys collisions with the floor it still goes through other devices (it generates collisions boxes procedurally so I might have done something bad there). For now I'm fine with it.Servers are the main component of the datacetenr, and are the only ones that can process a packet…
