- Announcing the next game from Fullbright: SPRINGS, ETERNAL - 4 December 2025
Coming in 2026: A new lo-fi first-person first-person narrative game from Fullbright. Announced today at the PC Gaming Show Most Wanted Showcase! You can learn all about it on the official Steam store page (and Wishlist Now!) (and follow the Fullbright Newsletter for updates all along the way right in your inbox!) but here's the rundown: Springs, Eternal is a lo-fi (”Dreamcast-era” or maybe late-’90s PC graphics) first-person story exploration game (”walking simulator”) that takes place at a secluded hot springs in the dead of night. You’ll traverse the grounds, flashlight in hand, visiting the pools, saunas, caverns, grand lodge, and other points of interest on the map. At each location you’ll get to meet other visitors and learn their stories through branching dialogue interactions. Some of these visitors have unique topics that you can unlock by performing specific actions elsewhere;…
- Unity DLL patch - 6 October 2025
- Small update using Unity's binary patcher tool to address security requirement for Unity games built on editor version 2017.1 or later. No game content or functionality should be affected-- good luck out there, Volunteers!
- Catalan translation now available! Plus a couple of bug fixes - 10 January 2025
Catalan can now be selected in the game's Language option setting. Thank you to the dedicated folks at Projecte Ce Trencada! Fixed a minor light leak near a bed in Barracks Fixed bug whereby geiger UI preview would not appear upon acquiring the geiger counter if CRT effect was enabled
- A tiny bit of housekeeping, 12/15/24 - 15 December 2024
Ensuring UI text brightness/color matches in all languages Fixed issue where if the player paused the game while reading a document, they would have camera and movement control while in the pause menu Fixed issue where if CRT effect was enabled, and player played a Commentary node, and then enabled subtitles while the commentary was playing, the commentary subtitle text would be illegible
- Patch followup: Geo gap hotfix - 8 December 2024
-fixing some minor geometry gaps that became more apparent with CRT filter turned on
- Minor visual and perf fixes - 8 December 2024
-fixed misplaced damage decal in main hall after first locked door -improved performance in lobby by disabling shadows on some point lights that did not need them
- Nice to CRT You - 8 December 2024
I was playing some games on my Steam Deck using ReShade to add a CRT filter to the experience (as an aside, know what game looks really nice on a CRT monitor, or with a CRT shader? Firewatch.) and so I tried it out on Toilet Spiders and I was like... damn this looks nice. But a lover of Toilet Spiders like yourself shouldn't have to use a third-party tool to get this sweet sweet CRT look, I should just put it right in the game! So, dear reader, that's exactly how I spent my Saturday. In the options you'll now find a "CRT" toggle. It's off by default, but if you really want the fully late-90s experience to go with the low poly models and unfiltered textures, toggle that bad boy on. You'll be happy you did. And now, truly, on to maintenance mode as I focus on the next entry in Fullbright Presents. If you run into any show-stopping issues with Toilet Spiders, let me know in the Steam Discu…
- Patchnotes 12/5/24: Commentary Mode Japanese subs - 5 December 2024
You can now play through Commentary Mode with Japanese subtitles!
- Fullbright Presents TOILET SPIDERS has hit 1.0! - 27 November 2024
They're out of Early Access, y'all... Since the initial Early Access release, the first entry in the Fullbright Presents series of short, strange games now features a new intro and ending sequence, new notes to find and Achievements to achieve, plenty of bugfixes and performance improvements, new spooky scare moments, more usability and controller features, and... Commentary Mode?! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3098700/Fullbright_Presents_TOILET_SPIDERS/ I'm excited to bring this weird game out of Early Access with the 1.0 Update. Here's the latest in Version 1.0: Randomized Scripted Scare Moments: The spiders have escaped their toilets... Players have requested more life to the facility in between bathrooms, so as of v1.0, you may now encounter unexpected events during your playthrough. Keep your eyes peeled... Along with the controller vibration that was added in the last update,…
- ✨ The 1.0 Update ✨ - 27 November 2024
It's been fun working on Toilet Spiders, and I'm excited to bring the game out of Early Access with the 1.0 Update! Thank you everyone who's played and provided feedback. Here is what's new in Version 1.0: Randomized Scripted Scare Moments: The spiders have escaped their toilets... Players have requested more life to the facility in between bathrooms, so as of v1.0, you may now encounter unexpected events during your playthrough. Keep your eyes peeled... Along with the controller vibration that was added in the last update, there is now DualShock 4/DualSense controller light support on desktop! If you have a PlayStation controller handy, give it a go. "Resource Peek" ability added! I got tired of having to pause the game to check my light bulb/flashbang count when entering a bathroom, so now you can hold R1/Tab at any time to "peek" at what you have in your pockets. Super rare spider ki…
- Hotfix: stuck bug - 11 November 2024
Hotfix for a stuck bug that was discovered in the barracks-- no, not a spider that was stuck, but a place the player could get stuck, if they tried to climb inside the footlocker trunk that has its lid busted off and leaning there like a little ramp. You used to be able to climb in there and then you couldn't get out; now you can't get in at all. Please, the footlockers are not a jungle gym.
- Patch notes: the vibes update - 9 November 2024
Patch notes to go along with Update #3: Controller rumble support added throughout. User can toggle vibration in Options. Performance improvements to bring perf back up to 60fps on Steam Deck Fix for a rare softlock that was introduced on Lucky Coin pickup A couple of other minor fixes and presentation tweaks
- Update #3 - 9 November 2024
The VIBES UPDATE is here! As you may have guessed, the big addition is full controller vibration support throughout the game. Now when your geiger counter goes off you'll feel it rumble in your hands, along with rumble feedback for other interactions and scripted moments. Controller rumble support is a first for a Fullbright game! It was fun to get figured out and get working and wired up throughout the game. Rumble is best experienced with a controller on desktop, or via an external controller on Steam Deck-- I've found that the internal Steam Deck controller rumble support is really.. let's say, subtle, though it is there. And if you're not a fan, you can toggle it off in the options. If you encounter any issues with the rumble feature (or anything else) click on over to the Steam Discussions board and let me know! Speaking of Steam Deck, I also found that after a recent OS update, it…
- Update #2: New Intro & Ending, plus other neat stuff - 2 November 2024
Fullbright Presents TOILET SPIDERS Early Access Update #2 is HERE! After last patch's usability and QoL focus, this time around I'm leaning into more story-based requests I've seen from the community. To this end, the game now kicks off with an intro sequence setting the stage for your Volunteer mission. And if you're able to successfully escape, stick around after the credits for an ending sequence that wraps up your victory! There are also two paper "You-Are-Here"-style maps posted up in the corridors of the game, one for each "floor" of the facility. You can refer to these in the main connecting hallway of each of the two major areas, adding both some useful info and a little bit of fictional flavor to your mission. There's also a little flower to find. It doesn't do much, but it's cute. Also there's a new note somewhere in the depths of the facility, and the Investigator Achievement…
- Update #1: Restart Your Run (and other quality of life options) - 22 October 2024
It's been less than a week since TOILET SPIDERS invaded your innocent computer, and the first update is now available! Everything in this update is based on player feedback, so THANK YOU for your input, those who have tried out the initial Early Access version! As TOILET SPIDERS is a run-based game with some amount of RNG involved, one request was a way to restart the game without quitting and relaunching-- so now, we've got that! Just choose Restart from the main menu and you'll start a new run with spider locations and placement of resources re-randomized. There are also a number of new user options, especially targeted at players with motion sickness: you can now up the field of view even further, turn off view bobbing while walking/running, enable a reticle in the center of the screen, and more. Also to accommodate folks who can't stand that ringing-in-the-ears sound following a fla…
- Fullbright Presents TOILET SPIDERS Steam Deck compatibility! - 17 October 2024
Until such a time as Fullbright Presents TOILET SPIDERS makes its way through the official Steam Deck verification queue, here's the state of the state: as far as I know, FPTS should be fully Steam Deck compatible, and meets all requirements for Verified status! The game makes use of the Steam Deck's gamepad controls by default when launched on Steam Deck, and displays Steam Deck button names, not keyboard binds. The game runs at 60fps on default settings, with some areas that may dip more into the 55fps realm. Currently you can't manually adjust the screen res, but in a future update you should be able to bump down the screen res to lower than native res if you really want to maximize framerate on Deck (maybe I'll find some general performance tweaks in the future as well.) Steam Deck: anywhere you go, there's Toilet Spiders!
- A New Fullbright Game is Available... Right Now!! - 17 October 2024
It’s in Early Access for just $5.99— with a launch discount of 17% off, and an additional discount if you complete the Fullbright Collection bundle! In the Summer issue of the Fullbright Newsletter (which you should sign up for if you haven’t!), I introduced the concept of Fullbright Presents: an ongoing series of small, strange, lo-fi games I'm producing as a solo developer, to be released into Steam Early Access as they roll off the production line. And now, just a few short months later, here it is! This isn't a super-rough alpha Early Access launch either, the game is actually a pretty polished version of itself. There's a little more in the way of features and content to add, balance to improve, and bugs you'll help me find that I'll need to fix, but really at its heart this is the game as it's intended to be played. So, what is this game you might ask? Perhaps the real place to be…
