- Faction Deep Dive – Nurgle - 8 October 2026
In Warmhammer 40,000 Boltgun, Malum Caedo came up against some of the perilous forces of the pestilent agents of Nurgle, such as Nurglings, Plague Toads and even a Great Unclean One. Blessed with resilience and renewal, the forces of Nurgle return in Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun 2 to plague the progress of both Malum and Nyra. And this time, there are some brand new Nurgle foes to overcome. Poxwalkers As you venture through the muck and mire of one of a Nurgle-infested Deathworld, you’ll have to cleave through regenerating swarms of Poxwalkers that rise out of the ground. The sheer volume of rotting bodies will take significant firepower to chew through before their clawing hands, tentacle limbs, and gnashing teeth reach you.Plague Marines Whilst Poxwalkers shamble towards you, Plague Marines prefer a more ranged approach with their deadly weapons. Plague Marines are the foot soldiers of th…

- "Coders will never forgive me for this level": Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 has a rotatable "fleshmetal" puzzle map that drove its own development team crazy - 5 October 2026
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is something far worse than war. There is: a level that is basically a huge, spinning lock full of tentacles, with your Space Marine or Sister of Battle protagonist naturally serving as the key. Auroch Digital's new FPS Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 launches next week, and I've been chatting to the game's principal designer Matt Bone about some of the more "creative" environments in store. It's a sturdy rule of thumb that all the best ideas in gamedev are the ones that make your colleagues want to fill your trousers with sea urchins. Bone certainly appears to have achieved this with the map comfortingly known as Vicious Circles. Read more
- Faction Deep Dive – The Tzeentch - 2 October 2026
Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath are no strangers to the heretical forces of chaos that plague the Imperium. However familiar one can be with Chaos, the forces of Tzeentch are the most unknowable, always changing, evolving and plotting. In Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun, Malum brought Bolter and Chainsword to bear down on a daemonic incursion that included some of the horrors conjured up by the god of change, Tzeentch. Now these warp entities such as Screamers, Flamers and Horrors return once more, this time at the head of Thousand Sons Rubricae.Rubric MarinesAdvancing inexorably across the battlefield, Rubric Marines are what remains of the Thousand Sons traitor legion – once proud Astartes, now mindless automatons. Their ornate armour is a shell that contains what used to be an Astartes, eternally bound to both their suit and the will of Tzeentch. Their Inferno Bolters and Soulreaper Cannons un…
- What’s New in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2? - 23 September 2026
Welcome, loyal subjects of the Emperor! As we work to put the final touches on Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 ahead of its release on October 14th, we'd like to take a moment and recap the biggest new additions and changes we're making in the sequel. We definitely won’t be changing the fast-paced action that made Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun so fun, but we do want to make sure the sequel keeps you on your toes as you face down the forces of Chaos.1) A Campaign Across the CosmosAs you venture across the galaxy, you'll chart your own course through more than 30 levels, bringing justice to planets in dire need of cleansing. A branching campaign will let you choose where you go next, giving you the freedom of forging your own path, with every planet featuring unique environments and challenges. That does mean it’ll be impossible to see everything in one playthrough, so you’ll need to choose caref…
- Faction Deep Dive - The Bloodthirsty Khorne - 16 September 2026
"Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!" Hello Space Marines, You may have seen various agents of Khorne across our trailers, screenshots, and even in the demo. The ferocious bloodlust of Khorne enters the battlefield in the form of World Eater traitor Astartes and their demonic allies. Malum and Nyra will have to contend with blistering bolter fire and chain axes from World Eaters whilst fending off charging hordes of rage-filled daemons. Bloodletters The foot soldiers of Khorne are manifestations of hate and violence armed with dreaded hellblades and a thirst for blood. They aren’t the toughest of Khorne’s forces but are a deadly foe in close quarters. Equipped with a Hellblade, they’ll leap toward you from a distance before viciously slashing away.Bloodcrushers Bloodcrushers are the deadly…
- Faction Deep Dive - The Hedonistic Slaanesh - 9 September 2026
Loyal Subjects of the Emperor, It is almost time to purge the foes of the Imperium that march under the banner of the daemonic deity Slaanesh. The followers of Slaanesh believe in nothing short of excess, corrupting their bodies and minds in the pursuit of twisted pleasures and sensations. Among these followers are the Chaos Space Marines of the Emperor’s Children and the twisted warp forms of Slaaneshi daemons.Daemonettes These monstrous forms of twisted beauty dance around the battlefield, lunging with powerful pincers and claws. Their visage is startlingly otherworldly, as they pounce with quicksilver speed, attacking with such grace and agility that it appears almost as though they’re phasing in and out of reality. Noise Marines The iconic Noise Marines of the Emperor's Children are a true assault on the senses. They are Heretic Astartes equipped with devastating sonic weaponry that…

- Warhammer 40,000 : Boltgun 2 Preview – Second Hero and a Lot More Mayhem - 21 May 2026
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 wastes no time proving that this sequel is bigger, faster, and far more confident than the cult hit that came before it. I’ll admit that my usual gaming genre involves massive, galaxy-spanning tactical grids where I can spend twenty minutes sweating over armour penetration math, shot success variables, and character builds that I put way too much thought into. It’s why Rogue Trader hit so well, and why I think Warhammer 40,000 done in the CRPG genre is so perfect. But there is a very specific time of night when the other thinking every single decision in my brain needs to chill out, and I just want to let pure, unadulterated adrenaline take the steering wheel. That is exactly where Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 steps in, boy howdy does it know how to deliver a face-melting dopamine rush. “Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 wastes no time proving that this sequel is bi…

- Looks like Boltgun 2 will be the Warhammer game to finally give the setting's horniest Chaos god its due - 1 March 2026
Warhammer's plague god, Nurgle, has proved surprisingly popular with videogame developers, with top-villain billing in games like Vermintide 2, Darktide, and Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters. He was also featured in Boltgun, with his grotesque nurgling servants mooning us and proving annoyingly hard to hit. They'll be returning in Boltgun 2, along with the previously revealed servants of Khorne and Tzeentch, but as the latest trailer shows, Slaanesh is also along for the ride... Read more.
- Armies of Chaos in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 - 27 February 2026
Loyal subjects of the Emperor, Yesterday, we took part in IGN Fan Fest showing off our latest trailer, which reveals a brand-new faction that’ll be coming to Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2! That’s right! The Dark Prince's corruption knows no bounds, and his legions of excess march into Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, spreading fear and misery with jovial glee! Forces of Slaanesh With inhuman agility and elegance, Daemonettes lurch forward at incredible speeds to viciously hack and slash at their enemies with daemonic claws. But they won’t be alone... Armed with a devastating arsenal of elaborately ornate weapons, Tormentors of the Emperor's Children fight alongside their daemonic brethren, complimenting their melee-focused allies with a ranged thread. This is just beginning with more forces of Slaanesh joining the full game when it launches later this year! All four Chaos factions come togeth…

Loyal subjects of the Emperor,You'll be able to charge headfirst into glorious battle as one of two playable characters in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2! So, for this month’s update, we thought we’d take a closer look at the different playstyles of Malum and Nyra. Malum CaedoMalum Caedo is a formidable Sternguard Veteran with a reputation for purging heretics. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun saw Malum finish the work Captain Titus started, by single-handedly ending a Chaos uprising on Forge World Graia. Now his duty is to take the fight to never-before-seen worlds and vanquish the foes that lurk there. Possessing all the characteristics of a Space Marine, Malum is physically strong, resilient and unrelenting. He combines his power armour and high survivability with a mighty arsenal that packs a punch. His primary weapons are the trusty Boltgun and lethal Chainsword, perfect for brutal close-qua…
