- Shadowrun devs' survival body horror Graft gets a gameplay trailer filled with fleshy delights - 15 December 2025
If this is a single flavour of genre that, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick a favourite, I would say is my favourite, it's probably body horror . There are a seemingly infinite amount of ways to project images of devolving flesh and altered bodies into your eyeballs, many of which I find strangely relatable, occasionally comforting. Graft , the next game from the studio behind Battletech and the Shadowrun series, does none of that for me, but its first gameplay trailer successfully twisted my guts into a collection of pretzels, so it's doing something right (though perhaps avoid the trailer if you're quite squeamish). - Shadowrun and Battletech creators unveil cyberpunk horror RPG set on a "dying space station" where upgrades change your personality - 4 September 2024
When I catch word of a chocolate-and-peanut-butter blend of genres such as "cyberpunk survival horror RPG", my eyes light up. Literally, they light up like the pilot lights of flamethrowers, like glyphs on a cursed monolith that has been exposed to fresh blood after a billion years of dormancy. When I hear that the aforesaid RPG is set on a "dying space station", I begin to emit a monotonous reverberation, like the mysterious banging recently heard aboard the Boeing Starliner . And when I hear that it's being made by the people behind Shadowrun and Battletech , I extend dozens of independently cognitive motorised tentacles and begin writing a news article. Read more
- Graft is a new horror RPG from the dev behind The Lamplighters League - 3 September 2024
I have a boat (I don't, but stay with me). Eventually a mast needs replacing. Then the deck needs new planks. Now it needs a new rudder. Finally, after many years, every single piece of wood, nail, and sheet of cloth has been replaced. Is it the same boat? That's the question at the heart of The Ship of Theseus Paradox and it's also something new survival horror RPG Graft is exploring. Read the rest of the story...
