- hotfixes #2 - 6 September 2026
* If disconnected during "free 10 reroll" banner process, restore the ticket. * Keyboard and Controller navigation fixed on Main screen hub. * Fixed crash when trying to "equip" but...there's no warehouse! * Fixed some spelling and grammar errors. * Added a visual indicator for "Empty Squad" preview area in Stadium/Arena/Quests. * Added a slight delay when leveling-up a waifu; after the first levelup there will be a pause before the repeating levelup process starts. * Stadium: Added the "Reset Time Left" to Waifu Dungeon and Magic Cat Drop. These events already provide weekly bonuses and score resets, so this is just an in-game display of when the reset time is. * When changing squad layout, any filters used will be "remembered" while in the layout screen. This should help from having to re-select filters for every slot. * Increased side/top menu icon visibility and added tooltip text w…

- July Update: Last BETA Update! - 1 August 2026
Developer Note:Last update before release! Focus for July has been knocking out some much-needed revamps & enhancements for Waifu Tuber and Waifu Fish. The assets were finally completed for the two Monster Series waifu, "Coral" and "Kugi" who are now obtainable in-game as well.Other than that, it's been a matter of going down the to-do list and checking stuff off. The Battle Pass system had been started a long time ago, and it was time to finish it! It's an easy, passive way to get some good stuff, with a "prize" Waifu at the end. Also, no FOMO! Battle Passes are always going to be available!Changes:Fixed banners not scrolling down all the way (yay rounding error)Waifu Survivor Quest: Capped weapon "Amount" per waifu.Waifu Survivor: Changed "Homing" behavior to bounce off non-target enemies instead of "cutting" through them.Waifu Tuber changes: - Revamped the UI/UX of the minigame; the…
- June Update: The Valiants! - 5 July 2026
Developer Note:Quite a bit went into this monthly update. The remaining large illustrations were completed, as well as a few new characters. "The Valiants!" bring their theming to the Stadium's "Nature Towers", with each one being unlocked on floor 200.Kiara is also introduced, who can be obtained by upgrading the Castle to Tier 7 (a Princess demands only the best!).I focused on fleshing out Waifu Survivor, and also was able to make a "Quest" version with objectives as well. Similarly, some of the Quests were adjusted with some gameplay improvements and should be more fun.Changes:Waifu Dungeon: Adjusted player's weapon positionWaifu Survivor: Fixed weapon movement glitchingWaifu Survivor: Fixed "Destroy All Enemies!" wave not completing when no enemiesWaifu Fishing: Fixed Fishing Journal not saving properlyFixed backup not working as intendedUR's obtained on weekday Nature Banners will…
- May Update: Townbuilder, Waifu Dungeon, Raine, and art! - 31 May 2026
Developer Note:Well, this month'd update is kinda large! My goal for this month was to draw the 5 large character illustrations, however each one is taking quite a bit more time than I had anticipated. As they aren't blocking anything, the game release won't be affected, so they'll get added to the game when I get them done.Due to some amazing feedback from several people, several major enhancements have been added for this update. Redoing the "Townbuilder" was on the to-do list anyway, and it just made sense to go ahead and do it now since it resolves many feedback points. The Townbuilder can now function more as the "Main Hub", and besides being quite a lot larger, it has a bit more life added with the Chibi interactions. The Waifu Dungeons maze algorithm needed to be changed as well; I swapped from a "Drunken Walker" to a "BSD" depth-first generation. All softlocking issues should be…
- April Update: Art Redo, Again! - 26 April 2026
Developer Note:The update for April is finally pushing live several month's work of redrawing the in-game art for the Waifu models and clothing. Hopfully the last time I have to do this ;-;Back in November I made the decision to switch from pixel art into an illustrative art style. I had to learn/relearn the basics, but with a focus on anatomy as well as line, shape, and form. Pixel art is "easy" because with the lessened detail, it makes the viewer's brain do "the work" of creating the image from a bunch of colored boxes. With illustration, it's more detailed and requires a better understanding and foundation of art basics.I'm not saying I'm a pro by any means, but I feel the art quality has increased with my diligent study and practice. The art is only going to get better from here, right? At the very least, it's my hope that these redrawn models and clothing look "better" than the pix…
- March Update: UI Overhaul - 27 March 2026
Developer Note:February and March are focused on redoing the in-game character models. February's exciting update was bugfixes, and March's exciting update is...UI changes. yay. That said, the good thing is that the artwork for the character models is complete! But not ready to push live yet, because now all the clothes need to be redrawn to fit the new models. My goal is to complete this for April's update, which means that one will be HUGE.please be excited ;-; we're almost there!Changes:Catball: Fixed crash when pausing when phase is not "fight"Catball: Added gylphs for Keyboard controlsFixed crash when on poor connection and trying to star upMarketplace: Fixed crash when using invalid filter in Equipment shopFixed RepairKit quantity going negative when usedFixed RepairKit resetting character grid saved filters to "Injured"Fixed Friendship/Rival doing permanent regen instead of max he…
- February Update: It's just bugfixes - 28 February 2026
Developer Note:Welcome "back"!?Primary focus remains on redoing/adding game art. I've spent the last 4 months dedicated to switching from pixel art to illustrative style art. It's not easy! While there haven't been any game updates for several months, I've still been adding bugs and suggestions to the "to-do" list. Player feedback is important, and I'm not going to ignore it (Which is also why the art is being redone in the first place).I've reached a point where I'm testing and implementing the redone in-game model. I honestly don't know if it's better or if it will even work, but it also means that it's a great opportunity to work on bugs and "low hanging fruit".So that's what this February Update is, "mostly bugfixes"! Several pain points as well as some quality of life features are addressed in this update, keep playing and giving feedback, it helps everyone!Changes:Fix immediate cra…
- Delaying release, to make the game better! - 13 December 2025
The initial plan for Fantasy Waifu Collector was to put the game on Steam in Early Access starting January of 2025. The rest of the year treated as a "Beta" build, with a demo released in October. While the game received massive changes and updates, as of December it still needs work in order to make a better finished product. Even with planned monthly updates after release, core changes to the game need to be made which prevent December's plan. There will be a lack of monthly updates until the core changes are complete.Thank you to everyone for the feedback during this time! Please continue enjoying the demo, and be sure to wishlist the game while you wait patiently. The upcoming changes will be worth the wait!Thank you,-SyKoHPaTh

- September Update: New Relationship System and More! - 27 September 2025
Developer Note: The Demo has been out for almost a full month, and the first week involved several hotfixes. I started to receive some feedback, which helped a lot with changing aspects of the game to make it better. The next phase of art is being worked on (phase 2.5?), and a few of the new assets and backgrounds are included in this month's update. The Capture quest has some new trees which follow the illustrative style of the game. Also, I reworked the Capture quest so it runs much better across systems, as well as making the scrolling speed the same for all difficulties. The "slow walk" at difficulty 0 was not fun at all. Also added is a coin trail, which makes the quest more interactive. The big addition in this month's update is the Relationship system. This idea has been in my head for years, so it's good to finally put it into action. Waifus will build relationships with each ot…
- August Update: Demo! New Character and Clothes! - 30 August 2025
Developer Note: Yay, DEMO of FWC releasing on September 8th! When I thought about what the Demo version of the game should include, it was a good exercise as I had to think what the "core" of the game should be. I had asked a few others for ideas and input, and it seemed like the game should be centered around the minigames. Working for the demo changed a few aspects of the main game as well. I won't list all of the changes here, but the main key points would have the demo similar to "Free to Play" Gacha games, with the paid version granting access to the Online service (which opens up Co-op, PVP, and PVE online minigames and functionality). The biggest change happened with the Stadium; once the Stadium is bought, instead of unlocking minigames one at a time via upgrading the building, they will be all unlocked (once the Stadium is bought and built of course), with rewards from the mini…
- July "Sneezing Fish" Update! - 2 August 2025
Developer Note:This month I've been putting work and thought into the "New Player Experience", namely the tutorial.I've had the blessed opportunity to watch a couple people play through the start of the game, as well as some feedback pointing out trouble spots. The two specific pain-points are buying and placing the School, second is when assigning a character to a squad with a matching Skill Nature. Along with some minor issues of showing point-prompts in the wrong spot or simply not showing them when needed, this caused players to become "stuck" and not know what to do. It is at that vital point where players tend to quit games and not look back. I want people to enjoy what I've made, not become frustrated and lost! The new banner character, Polleen, has been an idea in my head since early spring when I was assaulted by pollen. Some ideas just start with a silly name change! I wanted t…
- "The Bird Update": New monster with functionality and bugfixes (yay) - 28 June 2025
Developer Note:The update for June mostly contains new functional coding (and bugfixes of course!), as well as adding controller controls to a few more screens. What's a good name for this kind of monthly update? idk. There's a new monster, so let's go with that. The Steam Store assets were completed, including a new Early Access Trailer. I hope all of this gives a much better first impression than the previous artwork. Considering all the work that went into the "Art Redo" I really do hope it is all worth it!Oh yeah, there's a new monster. It's a bird. As proper "prey" it replaces the Samurai in the "Capture" quest. I colored the monster using the "Sky" color palette; in fact, the Enlistment "Ribbon" uses a feather from this monster. For this next month, the focus will be to get more play-testers with the hopes of making the game more fun to play. As a developer, there is a one-sided per…
- Chibi Update! ...and quite a bit more! - 31 May 2025
Developer Note: This month focused on completing the remaining tasks from "Art Redo Phase 1", which focused on the Storybook Portrait characters. After a bit of testing using the redone in-game models alongside the old portraits, well, it didn't look great. Efforts were then redirected into redoing the Goddess of Dragons in-game model, and ya know what? I did a great job with her! I also completed some very much overdue older tasks of completing the Demon King art, adding the "Deew" monster, as well as redoing the art for the Goblin. Then of course the big thing (for me hah) was remaking the Chibi art. I decided to create an entire new system to handle these; using an "old-school" pixel-art style, I was able to quickly make the art and functionality which results in a much more visually pleasing result over the old "scary style" models. My intention is to use them in places where a larg…
- Art Update! - 26 April 2025
Developer Note: This month is the "Art Update" which includes the March as well. Since March was slim in terms of functionality, I feel it was necessary to "skip an update month" due to the work needed to redo the art. Since that work couldn't be split up, it was easier to just release it all in one update. The reason that the art needed to be redone was to make it consistent across the entire game. Easier said than done...*crying noises*. All of the art assets were created over the span of 2 years, so redoing it all in 2 months was a very hefty chore. The focus was on redoing all of the major assets, specifically the backgrounds, character models, and game logo. Since I'm not practiced enough to make good looking backgrounds (obviously lol), I contracted an amazing artist, Talon to do them! Due to poor indie solo dev problems, I could only afford a few, so the work was split into phase…
- February "Catball" Update - 1 March 2025
Developer Note: This month focused on getting the game to pass Steam approvals, and it does! After that, some heavy work went into "Catball" to make it actually playable. While there's more work to be done in the graphics and especially balancing, it "should" be fun, right? Waifu Survivor recieved some much needed attention as well, replacing all the monster "icons" with proper monsters, and bosses! Mechanics for this minigame were tuned, keeping it intentionally difficult so that scores can be competitive (of course not final!). Do note that there's a TEMPORARY "Press/Tester" skip-ahead button. Please don't press it, because it will ruin your account haha. At least play through the tutorial before clicking it, anyway. Bugfix: * Steam overlay not appearing on all clients (Still might not appear depending on system settings, outside scope of game) * Fix crash in Marketplace when switchin…
- Beta 1.20250126 - Generic Bugfix January Update - 3 February 2025
A lotta bug fixes here, mostly boring stuff I know, but it's all necessary to get this working properly via Steam and game stability! Don't worry, fun stuff is still being worked on. Bugfix: * Warband crashing due to not having the cache file * Fix "cancel" button on login page to actually exit the game * If PVP team is "empty", generate it based off of player's highest 3 Character power * After Guild Boss attempt, show display name instead of Steam ID on leaderboard (only affected current player) * Replace mouse "sliding" with instant-snap for attention buttons, applies to Controller only * Fix Dialogue typos (Note that some characters have intentional accents!) * Storybook: Flipped arrow-loop image and made rotation clockwise * Added "unskippable" tags to certain storybooks. That means they are probably important! * Townbuilder: Renamed "Collect" to "Remove" * Removed redundant toolti…
- "It's Beta Time!" - Fantasy Waifu Collector - BETA v1.20250103 - 18 January 2025
Developer Note: Well, after 2 years of development, this game has finally reached "BETA" status. As with any game, it started with an idea (which I wrote down!) and it was just a simple side project to test some ideas and push my abilities. After 6 months I had my original idea fleshed out to the point where it could be considered an entire game. There was a lot of work to do, but I ended up creating a schedule to meet goals. While I *mostly* stuck that with monthly updates (there is a LOT of scope creep in the game haha), the core idea and plan was implemented. For the next year and a half, I spent most of my free time working on this game with an ultimate goal of it reaching completion at the end of December 2024. That was ALPHA, and with this game submitted and store page approved on Steam (*that* was a process!), this is the first BETA update of the game. Updates will still be poste…
