The day is coming! In roughly 1 month, Penelope Syndrome's full version will see its grand release! This demo version will not be removed. Hello there, fellow mechanics! To celebrate being included in this week's Steam Zombies vs. Vampires Fest, here goes a brand new update including all the latest work come out of these last few months! Introducing, the Spectre. These ghost type enemies may be hard to spot at first (or impossible to) but once they appear don't worry, they are also hard to put down. Enjoy, and happy Zombies vs Vampires Fest!! Change List Summary -A BRAND NEW ENEMY TYPE -A more streamlined and easier to understand game mode select at the beginning of the game. -New options in the Workshop in the Area Hub -New combat animations -New portrait art and sprite art for various characters and npcs -Updated level layouts -Tweaked level item and enemy balancing -New flickering light ambience to some areas and their respective gameplay mechanics -And many many other various small additions under the hood. ^_^
- The Sewer Hub Update - 19 December 2024
Tis the season to be jolly, right? What better way to celebrate the cold days ahead by finding a cozy control hub to unwind in. That is precisely what this new build for Penelope Syndrome brings! Between each level the player returns to the Sewer Hub. Here the player can save their progress, use the new key items they found in the levels to open up additional areas within the hub, and even utilize a workbench to tweak their stats in an overhaul to the level up system! All in the name of adding in a little more classic survival horror DNA into the game. - Halloween Week Update - 29 October 2024
Happy Halloween Week! Enjoy this small update for the best holiday of the last quarter of the year! -Stronger Kappa variant added to the first secret difficulty mode. Makes it feel more like classic survival horror now. -Movement patterns for the Ogre enemy type have been altered to be less predictable. -Mild balance changes.

A bug that loops a cutscene and stopping progress has been corrected.
- Secret Mode Update - 21 October 2024
One of the secret modes plays a very quiet and less 'in your face' philosophy. This update adds to it. But what is added will remain a secret... Other changes include minor level alterations.
- Mid Halloween Season Update - 17 October 2024
Happy Halloween Season!! In this mid October update, a new respawn system has been implemented. Upon death, the player is respawned at the start of the current interval, or that interval's safe room provided it has been located. As per the old build, progress of that interval is maintained upon respawning. A new boss enemy has also been implemented into the final level. It is tough, but it can be defeated. As always, if a bug or glitch is found on your playthrough, please report it in the game's discussions page on STEAM. -Dd Games
- Small Balancing Patch - 4 October 2024
The Interval introducing combat has been altered slightly to include more open space for navigating.
- Minor tweaks to the final level - 26 September 2024
The final level was a bit too easy to run through, thus it has been altered to feel more like a full experience. -An additional gate requiring the repairs of 3 pipes to progress the level has been added. -Additional scrap included to enable enough resources to repair the 3 new broken pipes and the final computer panel at the start of the level.
